Interaction with Guests
*** The studio is attached to our home and we may be present during your stay. We do have two bubbly, small children that you may see or hear rumbling around the property. You may hear muffled, limited noise during the day as we go about our business but noise is limited. Since the studio itself is private the interaction between yourself and us is very limited.
However, we are happy to accommodate you in anyway we can. We've lived in the area for nearly ten years and are happy to share with you all our favorite places and share ideas of things to do and see in Ventura and surrounding areas.
Plenty of free street parking.
No Smoking or Drugs please. No pets, though we may make exceptions for small dogs upon approval. No candles, lanterns or open flame of any kind. Please keep outdoor noise levels low. This is a very quiet suburban neighborhood.
Quiet hours (no parties/social events) between the hours of 10:00pm and 7:00am as per the City of Ventura short term rental code .
Please no arriving back to the room after midnight.
Anna and RJ were wonderful as was there lovely private studio adjacent to the rear of their main house. It's a sweet quiet neighborhood, a mile or so from the ocean, and even closer to a portion of Ventura, near the hospitals, where I had an appt the following morning. Anna was great at staying in touch before our visit and then phone numbers were there in the studio, if we needed anything during our visit. They also both supplied us with info regarding restaurants ( RJ highly touted LURE, which was a great seafood eatery) and coffeeshops and how to get places. And a lot is packed into this lovely studio -- queen bed, a real kitchen with fridge (and lots of waters!), coffeemaker, microwave, and then a great bathroom with clawfoot tub/shower -- a real mini-home away from home! Met their two young boys who we barely heard during our visit. A wonderful visit, thanks to Anna and RJ.
Anna was a great hostess! Loved her place and the location was great for me, as the Naval Base I needed to visit was very close. I had a little trouble with the outside gate at first and Anna was very responsive by text.
I will come back for sure when I need to be in that area again!
The only reason we may have felt uncomfortable is because we reached late at night and there were no street lights or lights on at the house. The instructions to get in were also to reach over a fence and we were uncomfortable reaching over a high fence late at night. Since the space was an attachment to an actual house, we did not know whether people would be home and did not want to frighten anyone by coming in so late.
I'm so sorry you felt uncomfortable! Normally if I know a guest is coming in late I will leave the porch light on for the studio. It may have slipped my mind. Also, future guests may want to know that when you walk through the exterior gate a motion censored flood light should immediately turn on revealing a "Welcome to AirBnB" sign. Again, I apologize that it felt uncomfortable for you. We do appreciate you staying with us and your feedback!
It's really a five stars airbnb ! The room and the bathroom are absolutely beautiful and clean, full of amenities. The neighbourood is very safe and you can find everything you need (grocery, restaurants, gas... ).
Anna and RJ were so welcoming, kind and full of precious advices (surfing, going out...).
If we come back in Ventura, we definitely come back there !
Ce airbnb est absolument parfait : la chambre, la salle de bain, les hôtes, les environs, ... Très bien situé pour profiter des plages et des environs de LA.
Thank you so much !
Anna and her husband provided a charming studio that was perfect for our vacation. I didn't get a chance to meet Anna, but her husband was very welcoming and showed us around when we arrived. He even suggested a few places to check out for dinner, which we really appreciated. The studio had everything we needed, and Anna even left us water bottles and Trader Joe's Peanut Butter Cups (which happen to be my favorite), which was a really nice extra touch.
This place was great, we fell in love the moment we walked in.
Super cozy, private, and near downtown. The neighborhood was beautiful, all the houses look so pretty. It was very clean and furnished in a cute and casual way.
Our stay was just what we were looking for. The place was clean, comfortable, in a quiet neighborhood, and quick drive to the beach and downtown Ventura. Anna left helpful instructions and food recommendations. There was plenty of parking on the street. Only downside is that the studio gets rather hot during the summer because there is no AC. Opening the windows and running the ceiling fan helped. Would stay here again next time I'm in Ventura.
About the Host, Anna
We are a young Christian family with two darling kiddos (4 and 2 years of age). My husband works and surfs everyday. I run marathons and surf as well. We love to hit the beach as much as possible. We travel and camp in our spare time in our VW Van. Cheers!
