About the neighbourhood:
Centrally located in Old West on the posh, beautiful Eerste Helmersstraat, you’ll be close to it all: a ten-minute walk to the nightlife at Leidseplein, two-minutes to the city’s largest park, the Vondelpark, and a mere seven-minute walk to Museumplein with all the famous musea of Amsterdam.
You’ll have easy access to plenty of public transport – trams 1, 7, 17, 3 and 12 are all within short walking distance and will take you anywhere you need to go in the city.
Just around the corner you’ll find all the amenities you need from supermarkets to cafes, a pharmacy, restaurants, coffee shops (Amsterdam-style), bars, boutiques, a local market, eco-friendly organic stores, and so on.
I am looking forward to your visit.
With kind regards,
Guest Room 1 (topfloor). The toilet on the topfloor will only be used by the guests from Guestroom 1 and 2.
Interaction with Guests

This is a very lively neighbourhood close to the famous Vondelpark and with many restaurants around. A mere 10 minutes walk through the park will bring you to the Museumplein with the Rijksmuseum and van Gogh museum. The neighbourhood is close to the centre, but it is not where the majority of the tourists stay.
The most common transport from Schiphol to the accommodation: 1) at Schiphol you can take a taxi, which is a 20 minutes ride to the apartment OR 2) you take the train from Schiphol to Amsterdam Centraal and then take tram 1 to tramstop "Jan Pieter Heijestraat (Overtoom)". This should take approx. 35-45 minutes OR 3) you take the train from Schiphol to the station of Lelylaan (only 1 stop from Schiphol) and then take tram 1 to tramstop "Jan Pieter Heijestraat (Overtoom)". This should take no more than 25 minutes from Schiphol. From the last tramstop to the accommodation is only 200m. Your accommodation is part of a 5 storey building. The right door is my own private entrance at the groundfloor. Just ring at my doorbell, we go up together via the left door of the building to your accommodation. I shall explain a few things about the accommodation and give the keys to you. At the check out, you can leave the keys through my mailbox.
Other Things to Note

Remember, that the guestroom is at the 4th floor and the stairs in Amsterdam are steep. If you don't want to take any stair, this accommodation might be less suitable for you.
Please treat the place like it´s yours, with respect to the neighbours and leave the apartment the way it was when you arrived. You can enter or leave the building at any time day and night, but try to be as quiet as possible when you enter or leave the building. Smoking in the apartment is allowed, but please open one of the windows during smoking.
Wilbert was very helpful and did all he can to make me feel welcome. He replied to all my messages in no time and he was helping me to get to the place since I arrived at the airport. There was even a universal plug in the room, so i didn't need to worry about the adaptor. I have to say he was very hospitable, and Vondel House is actually located so close to the center if you just take one tram you will be in the center in no time. The neighborhood is nice, though I didn't stay for long. I would definitely go back there, wish I stayed longer honestly.
The apartment is very comfortable and spacious, exactly as shown in the picture. It is very quiet, with a great private shower. The location is great! It is at 200 meters from the Tram stop, and 15 minutes to get to the city center where you can perform all the tours on foot.
Mr. Wilbert is very polite and welcomed us very well. Especially by rapid communication through Airbnb messages. He showed us the room and told us all the necessary instructions to stay in the apartment.
We loved our stay in Amsterdam and would recommend the guestrooms of Mr. Wilbert who would like to visit the city
We hope to return soon!
Very nice guy, Wilbert. The room was quiet, basic and close to Vondelpark and the Rijksmuseum. The one drawback to the room for me was that it's 61 steps up to the room, which may not be great for people a little bit older and not used to climbing stairs.
But overall, nice guy, nice place, and as advertised.
Wilbert was a great host, he welcomed us and showed us the place on arrival. The room was very clean and accurate to description. It had everything you needed. Location was fantastic as the tram station was around the corner. We would definitely come back again.
This guest house is in a great location right near the tram stop, and only a few minutes from shops. The Van Gogh museum is just around the corner and anything else, including the Dam and Anne Frank House, is a tram ride or a long walk away. All of the needed facilities were provided and Wilbert was very friendly, carrying my heavy suitcase upstairs. The stairs aren't for the faint hearted, and definitely give you a workout after eating too much cheese.
We were made most welcome by wilbert ideally situated in city wilbert very friendly and helpful accommodation was very good
No hesitation in recommending this
Wilbert was an excellent host. He let us leave our luggage in his office since we arrived so early. The room was exactly as described. It was in a lovely neighborhood and located very close to public transportation which made getting around extremely easy. Would definitely recommend.
