1000 square feet 5 rooms apt, 5th floor 'walk up' in prewar historic building.
there are a master bedroom, living room, kitchen/dining, and the second bedroom for your luggage with closet & dresser with a twin size bed, a small bathroom with cast iron craw feet tub with a hand held shower and a very long hall way. very cozy, sensible and antique...i think every piece of furniture is one of a kind. the apt has bare and untreated original floor except the kitchen.
it is not for people who needs hi fi entertainment system, freezing air conditioned room or perfectly finished waxed floor.
high quality air filter, organic queen size bed, one twin size bed, breville juicer, coffee machine and toaster, steamer iron, ionized hair dryer, portable stereo, mielle vacuum, hi speed wifi, small a/c units, italian(bellora) and belgium linen sheets, japanese organic bath towels.
laundry/dry cleaning place is in next door building and very good japanese restaurant on the ground floor 'in' the building. in the same block, there is a excellent health food store and a beautiful bar and such. the whole food market(YMCA gym) on houston is 5 minutes(4 blocks) away.
you are 5 minutes walk away from F train and 7 minutes walk from 6, N&R. less than 10 minutes, walking distance(5 mins) to norita and beyond is soho.
it is almost peculiar in the middle of downtown new york but when you walk in, you will find yourself in a serene environment with lovely objects and textiles where you can unwind and relax. ideal for a single person or a couple or 2 best friends!
"things to consider"
no elevator...5th floor walk up for your legs and lungs!
no door to the master bedroom, it is open to the living room. ( but the whole place is yours only and the other bedroom is at the opposite side of the apt around the corner from the living room)
no black out curtains for the bedroom...very dim so if you need it to be pitch black in any hour, you may want to bring your eye mask.
no standing shower(as shown in photos)...just a loose hose shower in the craw foot bath tub...old fashioned.
no kettle...i make hot water in pots but I am a tea lover.

I feel really privileged to have stayed in Colette´s apartment. She was courteous yet informal, helpful and friendly, and showed a real concern that my stay in NY should be as good as possible. I felt trusted and well taken care of, above and beyond my expectations as an Airbnb first-timer. The apartment is comfortable, clean and excellently situated, and with a real sense of history and character.
I wouldn´t want to stay anywhere else! Cheers Colette, hope to meet again.
L'endroit est conforme à l'annonce, accueillant, propre et lumineux.
Tres bien placé dans east village, nous avons passé un moment tres agréable.
Merci colette pour sa gentillesse et son acceuil.
Easy and quick communication with the host.
Excellent location: Laundromat with knowledgeable and helpful staff downstairs, restaurants galore, groceries, drug store, subway stop and buses within short walking distance.
Bright, easily aerated, nicely air conditioned, and lovingly decorated apartment with an unusually comfortable bed and an amazing view on the Empire State Building from it.
Appartement très agréable, joliment décoré, bien situé. Notre hôte nous a très bien accueilli. Un endroit à recommander.
Collette´s place was perfect in all ways. Great location, beautiful apartment and just all in all a great vibe to the place. Would definitely love to visit again and highly reccomend it to anyone who wants a relaxed and warm place to stay while in NYC. She was a wonderful host, very attentive and quick on responding. Thank you!
The apt was really great! You can immediately feel at home there. We did not meet Colette in person, but she was easy to cummunicate with and even got us some food and flowers when we arrived. I would definetely stay at her place again! Thanks for everything!
Colette was a great host! very easy to communicate with, helpful and made you feel welcome. Her apartment is beautiful, nostalgic and cosy...the area is perfect too. close to the best of East Village: restaurants, shopping, cafes, and near the metro stations to both Brooklyn and up town. I hope to stay here during future trips to NYC. Enjoy your stay!
We had such a wonderful stay at Colette's place in East Village! The apartment is so beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable and charming - the photos do not lie! Colette was so helpful and such a good communicator, we felt very welcome and at home. I would wholeheartedly recommend a stay at her place. The location is unbeatable, so many great places to eat near by - a short stroll to the subway, not that you would want to leave East Village! The beds are the most comfortable that I've ever slept in, we stayed 8 nights and did not want to leave. Thanks so much Colette! I hope that I get the pleasure if staying at your place in the future.
The reservation was canceled 60 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Although Colette unfortunately had to cancel the reservation, which was due
to very understandable reasons, we still highly recommend Colette as a
host. She has been very helpful to us in finding an alternative place to
stay on Airbnb and is still even helping us with some questions we have
about New York.
Next time we go to NY, we'll definately want to stay at Colette's apartment!
This apartment is great!
Among the good things are superb location, nice lights, fine layout, personal style, and one quiet small bedroom. Also; the apartment eas very clean and Colette was very accommodating, friendly and helpful. And; it was extremely close to health food shop, great restaurants and subways.
On the more negative side, there was quite draft from the windows in the living room and some noises during the night.
But all in all I loved the apartment, and I would rent it again if I go back .
