Very comfortable two bed apartment in a quiet village with spectacular sea views. The apartment has easy access to Dublin city. Suitable for couples or families. It has all home comforts to make your stay special.
A fabulous 2 bedroom apartment in Blackrock, South Dublin.
There are two bedrooms, both double, one with twin beds, and the other with a double bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an easy to use shower in the bathroom. There are laundry and ironing facilities and Wifi access.
There is tv in the living area, a dvd player and a library of dvds, a reading corner with access to a library of books (including some great Irish writers - Flann O'Brien, John McGahern, Edna O'Brien, Molly Keane, Emma Donoghue, Colm Toibin, Pat McCabe) and magazines for varied interests, a radio and a music centre with a collection of music to suit all taste.
It is a three minute walk to the quiet, pretty village of Blackrock, which is south of Dublin city, with fine restaurants, pubs and two shopping centres. Make a trip to the market, pick up some treasures - an old book, DVD, map or print - or have a juice, a pancake or popcorn. At night time go to the Grape Escape wine bar for fabulous wines and cheeses in the most amazing building! Or for a more traditional drink head to Jack O'Rourkes pub.
The air coach goes directly from Arrivals in Dublin Airport to Blackrock village in approx. 35 minutes. Blackrock train station is a five minute walk away with Dublin Area Rapid Transport (DART ) to Dublin City Centre (15 minutes away ) and Dun Laoghaire (10 minutes away).
The walk to Dun Laoghaire takes about thirty minutes along a beautiful coastal walk, through sparkling Seapoint and you have to take the detour into Monkstown to sample great coffee shops, restaurants and interior shops, well worth the walk. You can swim in Seapoint almost all year round, if you are brave enough!
It is approximately a fifteen minute drive to the M50 giving access to all the major routes to any part of Ireland. If you have time come to my home county, Wexford, with miles of beautiful beaches, many choices of great restaurants and numerous places of interest to visit.
At the apartment there is a private patio overlooking Dublin Bay and a lovely communal garden. There is access across the railway bridge via a rustic walk to a jetty and the sea. I have fishing nets if you want to catch crabs! You can swim from here too! Sit back on the patio and enjoy the sea air, hear the DART trundle by in the distance and count the ships passing.
This is a secure apartment block of only 24 apartments in a quiet residential area with a private car park. And don't forget to leave milk out for the cat that wanders in if encouraged!
Please have a look at my Guidebook for the local hot spots.

Tess waited for us on our arrival and we had a very warm welcome, with a well-equipped fridge and other supplies. There was everything we needed for our five days in Dublin. We made trips to the city centre, to the coast south of Blackrock and to the Wicklow mountains. The apartment is very clean (even the electrical devices), perfectly situated, very close to the DART and to the next bus stop. As we had a rental car, the private car park was a big asset as well. After our trips in the fresh February air, we were always looking forward to returning to the warm and cosy apartment with the beautiful sea view. Some of us even got up earlier in the morning to take advantage of this view together with a nice cup of tea.
Tess really is a 'Superhost'! She was waiting for us when we arrived and had enough food in the fridge to keep us fed for days! The apartment is a cosy two bedroom apartment with a fabulous view over Dublin Bay and the ever changing cloud formation of the Dublin sky. The apartment has everything you could need, is warm, comfortable and secure. Blackrock is a great location and the Blackrock shopping centre is a short walk away, as is the Dart (the Dublin train system), providing an easy trip into town.
Tess made us extremely welcome, she met us from the bus stop and showed us to the apartment which was lovely, it is so cosy. I would have been happy just to sit in the apartment and look at the view all day and just wander up into the village for some lovely meals. The provisions that Tess provided were extremely useful as it meant we could settle straight into our holiday without having to go off shopping. The apartment is very well placed for accessing transport into Dublin City centre and other locations. We will have no hesitation returning to this apartment should we return to Dublin. Thank you Tess for making our holiday so pleasant. Happy New Year to you and your family.
Everything at Tess's apartment was perfect!
The location is great. On a quiet street only a couple of minutes' walk to Blackrock Village where there is everything, and 15 mins. by local train to the city centre. Close to the sea for great walks.
The apartment itself is a home away from home and feels like a true Irish house. Warm and comfortable, greatly equipped kitchen with a very comfortable lounge area and a beautiful view. You can also sit on the terrace and look out at the sea. Our children kicked a ball around the communal garden (quietly). The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathroom has a good strong shower.
From the photos I assumed the apartment would be smaller than it looked (camera lens) but it was nice and spacious. The living room is more comfy than in the picture.
Tess left us some food in the fridge and cupboards which was a huge help to get us started and such a generous gesture. Also she had a basket of toiletries, in case we had forgotten anything.
We were at her apartment over Christmas and she left us a Christmas card and presents!
Tess has thought of everything. I can't imagine there's a better host or hostess on airbnb.
Thank you Tess for a wonderful stay. Sorry we didn't get to say goodbye in person! But we will likely return, if you'll have us.
Me he sentido cómo en casa. Tess és una anfitriona genial, cuida hasta el mínimo detalle. Ha superado mis espectativas. Súper recomendable!
Just perfect! Apartment very cute, amazing view on the sea, hostess very very nice. We received a warm welcome from Tess with a lot of good advice. We highly recommend to go there:-) thank you Tess!!!!
What can I say? First of all the welcoming gesture by Tess exceeds all service standards if we were to compare in the hotel industry. She took great lengths to prepare lotsa thing such as a beautiful cot for my baby n the place was really nice n fantastic n we immediately feel at home. Not to mention she have lots of goodies such as groceries and she even get baby food for my 10 mth old. She even helped to get a taxi for us for our early flight. I promise to be back again n get her apartment. Lovely view and the best thing she even had all information about Dublin to make our stay n visit a memorable one. I can't thank Tess enough for the wonderful hospitality n the view was super and exhilarating. I recommend those out there to get her apartment as it has an easy access to the Dart Station and the neighborhood is a friendly one. Thank you Tess
