About This Listing
Very comfortable two bed apartment in a quiet village with spectacular sea views. The apartment has easy access to Dublin city. Suitable for couples or families. It has all home comforts to make your stay special.
A fabulous 2 bedroom apartment in Blackrock, South Dublin.
There are two bedrooms, both double, one with twin beds, and the other with a double bed. There is a fully equipped kitchen and an easy to use shower in the bathroom. There are laundry and ironing facilities and Wifi access.
There is tv in the living area, a dvd player and a library of dvds, a reading corner with access to a library of books (including some great Irish writers - Flann O'Brien, John McGahern, Edna O'Brien, Molly Keane, Emma Donoghue, Colm Toibin, Pat McCabe) and magazines for varied interests, a radio and a music centre with a collection of music to suit all taste.
It is a three minute walk to the quiet, pretty village of Blackrock, which is south of Dublin city, with fine restaurants, pubs and two shopping centres. Make a trip to the market, pick up some treasures - an old book, DVD, map or print - or have a juice, a pancake or popcorn. At night time go to the Grape Escape wine bar for fabulous wines and cheeses in the most amazing building! Or for a more traditional drink head to Jack O'Rourkes pub.
The air coach goes directly from Arrivals in Dublin Airport to Blackrock village in approx. 35 minutes. Blackrock train station is a five minute walk away with Dublin Area Rapid Transport (DART ) to Dublin City Centre (15 minutes away ) and Dun Laoghaire (10 minutes away).
The walk to Dun Laoghaire takes about thirty minutes along a beautiful coastal walk, through sparkling Seapoint and you have to take the detour into Monkstown to sample great coffee shops, restaurants and interior shops, well worth the walk. You can swim in Seapoint almost all year round, if you are brave enough!
It is approximately a fifteen minute drive to the M50 giving access to all the major routes to any part of Ireland. If you have time come to my home county, Wexford, with miles of beautiful beaches, many choices of great restaurants and numerous places of interest to visit.
At the apartment there is a private patio overlooking Dublin Bay and a lovely communal garden. There is access across the railway bridge via a rustic walk to a jetty and the sea. I have fishing nets if you want to catch crabs! You can swim from here too! Sit back on the patio and enjoy the sea air, hear the DART trundle by in the distance and count the ships passing.
This is a secure apartment block of only 24 apartments in a quiet residential area with a private car park. And don't forget to leave milk out for the cat that wanders in if encouraged!
Please have a look at my Guidebook for the local hot spots.

Tess is a lovely host and the apartment was incredible! She had the apartment well stocked with all we needed. Blackrock was a perfect little town with good restaurants and convenient groceries. O'Rourkes Pub was our favorite. But the view out the back over Dublin Bay was the best! Thanks so much Tess for sharing your great apartment with us. Darryl, Nancy, George, and Arletta
We really enjoyed Tess's apartment. It is situation right by the town of Blackrock and and has a lovely garden with a great view of the ocean.
Quiet and bright apartment on the ground floor with a well stocked kitchen, we found the apartment very relaxing. It had everything, books, tv and maps to keep you informed and entertained.
Everything about our trip to Blackrock was great, from Tess very kindly meeting us at the bus stop to walk us to the apartment, to the fantastic view, to the location.
The apartment itself was lovely, absolutely spotless, it had everything we needed (and more) and the view across the bay was beautiful.
Location was also great, in a very quiet residential area but so easy to get into Dublin. We used the DART system and it was great, on average we probably spent around €5 a day, this includes is going to Malahide one day though which was much further than Dublin.
Overall we had a really lovely time, Tess was a fantastic host and we would love to visit again!
We had a very warm welcome from Tess on arrival who showed us where everything was and provided some provisions for us and which were very yummy! We had a lovely stay in Blackrock - great place. Very comfortable and lots of toys/books to keep the kids happy. A very convenient location for exploring Dublin and the wider area. If we ever return to Dublin we would be keen to stay here again.
I suppose the ultimate endorsement for this place and this host, Tess, is that we returned. We stayed here last year, this year and hopefully next year. The place is spotless, there are lovely, homey touches throughout (stocked kitchen, seasonal decorations, great books and DVDs, etc.) but most significantly, Tess is marvelous, kind and accommodating in every possible way. Thank you, Tess, for another wonderful stay.
we zijn zeer gastvrij ontvangen door Tess, het appartement was geweldig, mooie ligging, schoon en prachtig uitzicht.
