In the heart of Williamsburg, the building was a dancehall from 40s through 70s and has been a stunning apartment since. The original stage (!) and discoball remain.

The Space

This place will honestly blow you away.

In the heart of Williamsburg, blocks from the L, JMZ, and G. In the center of Williamsburg, four blocks from the river. Plethora of restaurants, bars, clubs, cafes within a few blocks.

The building was a functioning dance hall from 1940s through 1970s and has been a stunning apartment ever since. It still has the original stage (!) and an amazing discoball, but now with modern amenities.

Two bedrooms on the sides (one with a queen, one with a King), plus a third on the stage with a full-sized bed.

The whole space is 4000 square feet on the third floor, has 15 foot ceilings, wireless Internet, three soundsystems, good street parking, and amazing natural light.

Honestly, it will wow you.

Two of us generally live here, but the stage is always open and a second bedroom is often open when we travel. Unless you want to rent the whole apartment, one of us will generally be here.

*To be clear, the price listed is per bedroom. If you want the whole apartment, it would be triple that. *

Guest Access

  • What a unique space right in the middle of everything! Close to the L train and all the great bars and restaurant's of Williamsburg. Interactions with the hosts were easy: they were responsive, friendly and helpful. You'll never forget your stay here. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique experience in a one of a kind home.

  • Great experience! The Dancehall is as awesome as the pictures and description describe. I hosted a dinner party and the owners were extremely flexible and accommodating. THANKS so much!

  • The space itself is amazing. There is a simply massive main room that the pictures don't do justice to. There is also a massive projection screen TV. Despite its large size, its actually a pretty comfy, cozy place to hang out if you have some downtime. I didn't get to meet seiji, but his roomate Justin hosted us, and he was a really cool guy. Nice, helpful, spent plenty of time just hanging out with us, and since it was NYE, we put a few drinks back together before my group headed out. You are within two blocks of a range of cheap to nice restaurants, 2 bodegas, and a liquor store. There is a movie theater across the street. Its a five minute walk to the L or the JZFM.

My only very minor complaints about the whole place is that all of the rooms have spaces near the top that are open to the main room, so its easy to hear people walking around in the morning. You also have to keep somewhat quiet since the downstairs landlords are an older couple, though we weren't bothered during our time there. Would nonetheless suggest to anyone, and hoping to get back there again.

  • Just returned from a fabulous New York weekend and staying at The Dancehall was the highlight of the trip. Enormous, light-filled and stylishly eclectic, this space will definitely WOW you! The bedrooms are large and private with comfortable, quality bedding. The bathroom is giant by NY standards, very clean and thoughtfully supplied with top-brand soaps, shampoos and lotions for your use. The apartment is on the third floor of a private, low occupancy building, so there is a quiet calmness about it, a surprising sanctuary is a bustling city. I was at first reluctant to share a space as a roommate, but Seiji and Kevin are such incredibly warm, considerate and fascinating guys, you will want them as friends. Ideally located in a happening neighborhood full of interesting shops and great restaurants, and a short walk to the Bedford L train into Manhattan, this place has it all!

  • The dance hall is the most unique space I've seen in Brooklyn and it was fun to call it home for a few nights. Seiji and his roommate Annie were both great people to meet, and I was more than comfortable at the place. The location is perfect for enjoying Williamsburg. I'd recommend anyone to stay here!

  • Seiji is a gracious host and this space will not disappoint you. It is beyond large and in a great location in Williamsburg. It might be a bit more expensive than other rooms on airBNB, but well worth it, especially if you want to bring anyone over to hang out with you while you are in Brooklyn. I stayed in one of the bedrooms and felt like I had tons of privacy even when other people were visiting the apartment. My favorite part was the mirrored disco ball (for added ambience in the evening).
