On the boarder of Rushcutters bay and Darlinghurst you have all you need on your doorstep. Very close to the city, beach, tours, and transport. Your room is in a modern terrace with lots of space. Enjoy a gourmet kitchen and sunny courtyard.
Your room is big and peaceful. The bed is a queen size bed with 1000 thread count sheets for extra luxury. A wardrobe with lots of hanging space.
The terrace is spacious and renovated. Your room is in the middle of the house. The house is on a lovely peaceful street, yet only 5 minutes away there are an amount of great cafe's, restaurants, and bars.
Sydney is a great city with plenty happening all year round. You are a 20min walk to the city centre, or 10min on the bus or train. Kings cross train station is a 5 minute walk and 1 stop to get to Townhall. The bus to bondi and the eastern beaches is right outside the door. There are lots of carshare spots around the house, so you'll never be stuck for transport options. The house is about 30-40min from the airport dependent on how you travel.
You can use all of the living spaces shown in the photos along with use of the BBQ, outdoor table and outdoor daybed for relaxing. The kitchen is fully equipped and open-plan. There is a washing machine if you need to use it, and an outdoor line to dry clothes. The bathroom you share with me. There is also another toilet downstairs that you can use.
Interaction with Guests
I live and work in the house so I am here a lot of the time, if I am not here, then I will have a friend welcome you. I'm well travelled and relaxed, so happy to interact as much or as little as you like. Happy to give you tips and information on the area if you'd like it. I have a siamese-burmese cat and a very friendly staffie, so you'll get to meet both of them too.
5 minutes walk from beautiful Rushcutters park where you can go sailing on Sydney harbour, or just relax in the park and watch the world go by. Great spot for running and going for a morning or evening stroll.
5 minutes from the nightlife of Kings cross where you'll find outdoor bars, cute wine bars and all sorts of clubs and pubs to suit your style. There is a bar for everyone in Kings cross. Here you'll also be able to book and go on tours to parts outside of Sydney such as the beautiful Blue mountains, the Hunter Valley
5 minutes from Victoria street and Potts point where you'll find cool cafe's, restaurants and arty shops. Surry Hills is the next suburb over where a similar vibe can be felt.
The city is so close that you'll be a short walk (or you can use buses or trains) from circular quay, the opera house, harbour bridge, manly ferry, art museums, Taronga zoo, the rocks, China town and darling harbour.
We are located in the eastern suburbs, so if you like the beach you'll have an amount to choose from. A short trip on the train and bus will have you out to the iconic Bondi, or the more relaxed Bronte.
There is also a beautiful walk and small beaches around the southern heads of Sydney harbour, and a visit to Watson's bay for fish and chips at Doyles is a must do journey. Especially when the sun is going down over the city - we get some beautiful sunsets. Catch the ferry or the bus...both are a good way to get there.
The bus stop to the city is a 30sec walk from the house. Kings cross train station is 5 minutes walk. It's a great location if you like to walk, as must things are within easy walking distance.
Other Things to Note
The house is perfectly located to view the Sydney NYE fireworks. Rushcutters bay has a viewing point (5 minutes away) or you could walk down to the harbour to the many vantage points there (about 15-20min walk).
Keeping noise down when coming in late and tidying up after yourself in the kitchen.
I really had a wonderful time staying at Aine's during the New Year's for a week. Her place is beautiful, cosy, clean and really central with plenty of natural light. It radiated with good energy. The Kings Cross train station is a short 3 min walk from Aine's place. But I found myself walking to the City Centre, Surry Hills, Hyde Park, Circular Quay, the Botanical Gardens, Darling Habour a number of times instead of taking the train cos the weather was great and it is a walkable distance. Love that I have the option of walking or going by train. There are heaps of good places (both cheap or the more expensive) to eat in the area. I particularly love Cafe Hernandez across Aine's for its good coffee and yummy empanadas. And it never closes which is really great when I come back late or am out really early and need my coffee fix. As for the host Aine, what a lovely person she is! She is kind, warm, sincere & made me feel right at home. One of the days when I did laundry and hung my clothes on the line to dry and was gone the whole day, I was pleasantly surprised when I came back to find Aine had taken in my dry clothes and even folded them for me! That so sweet & unexpected! I had done a bit of shopping while I was at Aine's and bought 2 yoga mats & other stuff and I was wondering how I was going to lug it all to Bondi Beach which was where I was going to stay for my last 3 days. Aine was so sweet and offered to drop me off at Bondi Beach. Definitely recommended both the house & the host. Loved every bit of it
What a delight! The room was pleasant and clean, the house quiet but very friendly and nicely modern inside. Aine was a wonderful host, kind and extremely personable. I felt right at home with her two pets, and enjoyed a couple of evenings on the back patio with some of her friends. The neighborhood is exceptional, excellent restaurant choices and a couple of great Aussie pubs. I took the bus back and forth to town from a stop about 30 seconds from the front door but walked it a few times as well. All in all a great choice for a Sydney pad for five weeks!
Beautiful spacious room with comfortable bed and linen. I didn't spend much time using the other amenities of the house but Aine was welcoming and friendly. Recommended.
Aine is a very friendly host and her house is a little paradise in the centre of Darlinghurst. Very conveniently located in a quiet street. Well be back soon ;-)
This was a beautiful space. Lots of sunshine streaming into the kitchen. Aine was not home much - she's a busy consultant - but I enjoyed interacting with her. She is very friendly as are Charlie and especially Daisy (a sweet 8-yr old dog). Had the flat pretty much to myself. The flat is well located in Darlinghurst - perfect for me because it was 1 mile walk to an Ashtanga yoga studio and 5 min walk to my meeting venue.
It was a lovely stay at a very well located part of Sydney. Great place and lovely hosts!

I've lived in Sydney for 14 years. I am originally from Ireland. I love travelling and meeting new people. Most holidays revolve around either diving, hiking or exploring new cities. I takes life as it comes and am enjoying the adventure. I enjoy all that Sydney has to offer from the festivals, movies, theatre and outdoor events.
