This advert refers to the suite 102 but we have other rooms at the house. It has one double bed or two single beds, a drawer, a table and chair, private bathroom and compact kitchen (mini-fridge, sink and utensils).
It is located in the backyard where we serve breakfast and it has also an alternative entrance.
The prices at the calendar is for one person.
Amazing place with amazing and warm people who we now call friends. Do stay here. The breakfast is excellent and the hosts are all very happy to help you plan your day. You may also meet some great guests too! My friend and I loved this place and even went back to hang out after we had moved out and wish we had booked early to stay for our entire trip. The house itself is gorgeous. Do book early to stay in the upstairs rooms! It is in a great location and perfect for exploring Santa Teresa.
Great and warm casa in santa teresa,
The best and unique athmosfere in casa allegre in the middle of the art scene of Santa Teresa was amazing.
Daniel was really helpful, we were in Rio for just a few rainy days but enjoyed it because of the people we met.
Breakfast was delicious and the room was comfortable.
What can we say about Casalegra and the hosts? So many positives, there's too many to write here. Our room was well equipped, well decorated, in a beautiful spot in the garden. A wonderful varied breakfast. Something for everyone. Sometimes an education. Strange Brazilian fruits and Marco's incredible cakes. Don't miss out on the chefs scrambled eggs. The house in itself is homely with antiques, art, well maintained and interesting things to buy from local artists. The ethos of the house is friendly, ethical, ecological, artistic and spiritual. You can attend an exhibition or yoga classes. Santa Teresa is a cool, hip area as well as being quiet with lots going on in the neighbourhood that you can join in on. There are amazing old mansions set in beautiful gardens with views across Rio. Street art is also prevalent here, so a real juxtaposition. It's also a safe neighbourhood.
So now for the hosts. We were welcomed with warm open arms from the get go. Marco, Reana, Daniel and Raphael go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, enjoyable and educational so you get the most out of your stay. They are always present at breakfast to give you advise on how to spend your day and answer all your questions. They are fluent in Portuguese, French, English & Italian. We started our 8 month trip around S.america and we will end it here. They truly looked after us. We can't thank them enough and neither will you! Have fun with them and tell them we said Hi!
We had a great experience at Casalegre and warmly recommend the place. The house is great, the people : Daniel, Raphael, MArco, MArina and others are all really open and friendly, very helpful. Breakfast is complete and delicious , and the neighbourhood is one of the most pleasants in Rio with nice bars and restaurants within walking distance. Lots of lovely old houses around. Safe place too. The only disadvantage is the distance from the metro (but it is often the case in Rio : 20 minutes walk) . It can be a bit annoying when you come home late at night, as it can be difficult to find a motor taxi or cab to climb uphill to the guest house. Despite this, we 'd love to come again, for sure!
Gorgeous property in lovely Santa Terasa. We had a beautifully appointed room. Daniel and his team were great. There are many perks for the weary traveller: fridge with drinks that runs on the honour system, and a kitchen and washer dryer that guests can use.
Only downside: no AC but I was told that they were planning to put some in.
Great accommodation in a central location. Excellent breakfasts and Daniel is a great host who is only too happy to help with what to see and do around Rio. Really enjoyed our stay.
A very nice location and fantastic host Daniel who was so helpful in many ways.
Very good communications and we will be returning there next regards
Fred and Ann
I really enjoy my stay in this house.even if I didn't like the room, Daniel accepted kindly to upgrade us in an other room, where we loved to stay. Santa Teresa is a great place, with live music every nights. Daniel is very nice and helpful.
