The building itself is a dated Japanese apartment building built in 1971. Once you step inside this private apartment you’ll see a sharp contrast from your first impression outside. The interior of the apartment was newly renovated in April 2014.
The apartment itself is a spacious thirty two square meter one bedroom apartment (a lot bigger than most of the tiny studios in Tokyo!) located on the 2nd floor and gets plenty of natural sunlight. From the balcony you have a city view. There is a traditional Japanese style bath and shower. Utilities and high speed internet with wifi are all included, as well as all the other amenities to make your stay comfortable.
Our apartment’s location is the ideal base for exploring Tokyo. Our property borders Hinokicho park in Roppongi Tokyo Midtown and we are only a one minute walk from the entrance. Roppongi Tokyo Midtown is home to the Ritz Carlton Hotel (that’s how great the location is!) and a plethora of chic eateries and upscale bars. Our apartment offers fantastic transportation access as well. We’re only a five minute walk to Roppongi Station and Nogizaka Station. But if you want to enjoy the urban landscape by foot, Omotesando (Tokyo’s fashion district), Harajuku (street and pop culture Japan), Roppongi (nightlife and entertainment) are all within easy walking distance. There’s a large supermarket located in the Tokyo Midtown development, as well as ATMs/banks, Starbucks, restaurants, and boutiques.
ART, FOOD, CULTURE:
The National Art Center which is a massive venue with changing art exhibitions is only an 8 minute walk away. They have exhibitions of local artists with many interesting and unique pieces from all over Japan. From the apartment you can also take a leisurely stroll past Nogizaka shrine and continue on through Aoyama Cemetary which has beautiful sakura trees that blossom every spring. The road takes you down Omotesando dori which has some of the most unique architecture in the world. Continuing down Omotesando dori you hit Harajuku which is the epicenter of Japanese pop and street culture.
For you epicureans wanting to experience Japanese cuisine, you can easily walk to some of the best ramen, sushi, udon, and teppanyaki restaurants in Japan from our apartment. Just let us know what you’re interested in and we can help you out with your itinerary. We’re locals and can help you get off the beaten track.

Regular updates and very clear information provided made me well prepared for the stay. Host was quick to respond to requests for bicycles (very useful to travel around Tokyo and saves a lot of money). Instructions are spot on, though there seems to be a slightly shorter way by using the link bridge from the Ritz Carlton residence to the park. House was in immaculate condition, and looks exactly like the pictures. Do remember to open the washroom door after usage as it can get very damp. Lots of food options nearby too! Very satisfied with the stay!
Super Service!
Wir würden jederzeit wieder dort übernachten!
The apartment looks just like in the pictures, very spacious and organized. Bigger than average Japanese apartment that you can find. It's located on a hill, so be sure to be prepared to climb upslope if you intent to stay. It is about 8mins walk to nogizaka and 15mins to roppongi station. There's 24hr Lawson on the way to subway as well. Although it's bit far from subway but it's located at the central of Tokyo. We had a small problem with the room and the host responded quickly. Even came down to check it out immediately. We enjoyed staying here overall (: Thanks for having us!
We traveled to Tokyo for the first time with our 16 mo toddler.
Location: It is about a 10 minute slow walk to the train station (Nogizaka stn), which was on a very central line (Chiyoda line). The area is quite hilly so expect some climbing, but it was no problem at all for our toddler & us. We spent alot of time in the park nearby as it was very child & dog friendly. Tokyo Midtown is just a short walk away & the supermarket was really convenient for us (not easy to find a full fledged supermarket in that area). Walk a bit further up and you'll find the night life & restaurants.
Finding the place: The hosts did not meet us although we did ask a few times. We got lost for abit trying to find the place as the description was not accurate (we walked from Nogizaka stn) and mostly provided for people who were coming from different directions. You have to go up a steep hill/steps, so if you are lugging strollers/luggage bags/etc, it may be a little tricky.
Apartment & amenities: The building is pretty old & musty, but it gets better once inside the refurbished apartment. The unit is neat and clean. The bedroom & dining area is separated by a sliding door & the bathroom is pretty spacious but can smell quite musty as there are no windows for ventilation. There was a washing machine & balcony to dry our clothes which was great! It was not easy to find the water heat switch as the picture shown on the manual was for a different unit (to turn on the heater, go to the kitchen, its the box on top of the fridge).
check-out: they are extremely strict about check-out time. We had about 12 hours to kill before our flight out from Haneda and requested for a short extension as our toddler needed a place to nap, but they were not flexible with that as they had a cleaner who would come on time. I suppose if the room was free for the day, they could make arrangements with the cleaners to come abit later?
Great location. Convenient to subway and 7-11. Close to park but did not have time to experience. Apartment is clean with all amenities. I arrived late so took the airport limobus to ana intercontinental which was 15 mins to the apartment. Overall all good, email interaction was fast. Would recommend this apartment.
The apartment was very comfortable and close to metro station and convenience stores as described.
This is a very central location and you would be spending around 170 yen to catch a train to some of the other locations.
It's also super close to Roppingi main street and you can get great food from there..

About the Host, Oak
Konnichi wa! Hello from Tokyo!!! I love to share with you the beauty of contemporary Japanese culture. Having backpacked around the world I know first hand how it feels to be in a new country and to immerse oneself in a new culture. I'm inspired by those little details that we encounter everyday but often get overlooked in our busy lives in Tokyo from signboards to toy designs to building architecture. I would love to share with you our passion for art, Tokyo street culture, and local cuisine!
