CHECK IN, OUT, & KEYS
Check In is at 3PM, Checkout is at 10AM. If you are checking in later, or out earlier, it is helpful to let us know. One key will be under your name with the doorman; a key for each adult will be in the apartment. If your party is arriving at different times, I can leave 2 key envelopes, addressed to different people, with the doorman. Please make sure all members of your party know the address AND apartment number. Please leave all keys in the apartment upon checkout; there is a $10 fee, per key, for keys not returned.
We will extend the courtesy to you to store your luggage in my apartment after checkout time on checkout day. If you need this, just retain a key and let me know ahead of time when you will return to the apartment for few minutes to retrieve your luggage.
Sometimes people need to wait for their flight or wait for a friend who has a key to the apartment. There are over 50 places to wait in the neighborhood, but waiting in the lobby or waiting in the apartment before or after checkout isn’t appropriate. Search our zip 10023 on the Internet for any store that interests you or check out Old John’s Restaurant/Diner on 67th St across the driveway, The Apple Store (with chairs downstairs) at 67th & Broadway, or the New York Public Libraries on Amsterdam between 65th-66th.
NOT ALLOWED IN THE LOBBY GUIDELINES
-Luggage storage in the lobby isn't allowed.
-DO NOT mention Airbnb in the common areas of the building - elevators, doorman, etc.
-It is not allowed to loiter or eat in the lobby. If you think your party will arrive at different times and perhaps leave the apartment after that, we can leave 2 keys with the doormen.
NO SMOKING in the apartment of any substance
We have additional high quality blowup beds for your group. A single blowup bed will be put in the room with the single bed and a double blowup bed will be at the end of the living room as depicted in our listing picture. If you would prefer the reverse configuration, or no additional beds but instead more space, you can let me know up to a week before your arrival. Once the cleaning service comes, it will not be re-done.
GUESTS ADDITIONAL TO YOUR PARTY ARE NOT ALLOWED in the building or the apartment; the doormen will not allow them to enter
Arrival: If you come with a lot of luggage, the building maintains luggage carts. The building will not allow you to use them yourself. The doormen will load the luggage onto the cart and take it up via the service elevator. You ride in the regular elevator. The doormen will then bring the luggage to your door and will help you unload. They should be tipped $5 for this service.
If you order food or dry cleaning delivery, the doormen will call up on the house phone to let you know it is coming up.
Julia and Shelley are quintessential hosts. We wanted an authentic NYC cultural experience for both seasoned visitors and NYC neophytes. J+S's spacious Lincoln Center home provided everything we needed. All questions were addressed either in their Welcome Book, or readily by text. Space and ambiance were exactly as listed. We loved that our hosts are artistic NYC natives. Nothing could have provided a better experience for us. We hope Julia and Shelley will come stay with us in Dallas!
Listing description was accurate and a PERFECT fit for family visiting. Hosts were understanding of arrival issues... And delays with several parties coming from different cities.
Julia and Shelley were great hosts. Our family felt immediately at home in their lovely and spacious apartment. The neighborhood is lively and interesting, as well as convenient for exploring Manhattan. Everything was as described in the listing, if not better! Strongly recommended.
There was a lovely bottle of champagne to greet us. The apartment was neat, well stocked, and close to a lot of things. We quickly felt like we were in our own place. We actually were able to cook Thanksgiving dinner there, and then go see the Macy's parade. The size of the apartment was about right for the eight of us.

About the Host, Julia & Shelley
Musician, Skier, Racquetball player, business owner. I love to play violin for special events & dances and I learned how to ski before I was born. Both are ways to celebrate! Although NYC is my home base, I love to travel to fabulous ski houses and fill them up with new & old friends. It's fun to be both a host and a traveler, meeting new people and seeing new places.
