The Space

Situated just 9km from Dingle, on the 'Wild Atlantic Way' this modern, bright, refurbished and extended holiday home is set in a complex of twenty other cottages.
It looks out on a shared green. To the front of the house is a closed off garden which is safe for small children or a small dog, you are welcome to bring your family pet.
On the ground floor there is a large open plan kitchen, dining and living area, two double bedrooms ( 1 with en-suite shower and toilet), one twin bedroom, one family shower and toilet room and a hall way with a spiral staircase. Upstairs there is a double bedroom (mezzanine style).
Utilities include: a washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, iron, hair dryer, oil central heating, wood burner and SKY television.
If you have small children they will be well catered for. We have child gates, baby bath, changing mat, high chair, and 2 travel cots and a bed rail for toddlers who want to sleep in a big bed.
Outisde there is a large green area with a clothes line (pegs supplied), south facing patio and a garden pub style table and bench. There is also a garden shed at the side of the house containing a BBQ, kayak, lifejackets, 2 child bikes 8-13 year and beach equipment (beach tent, buckets, shovels, fishing line, fishing net, wet suits) available for our guests.
The house is set in an area of natural beauty bounded on one side by the Chorca Duibhne mountain range and on the other side by Dun an Oir and the Three Sisters promontory. The seas of Smerwick Harbour lie within the 3km span between these majestic headlands.
The beaches of Beal Ban, Gortadoo, Wine Strand and Murioch surround our holiday home about 500m to nearest beach. Access to these beaches is a available by road
When the tide is out it leaves many interesting rock pools in it's wake and hours of fun for children catching crabs and miniature fish. Also, within 600 metres of the doorstep is a u-shaped harbour which creates a swimming area when the tide is in.

Guest Access

Guests have access to all of the house except one room kept for household storage. Guests have access to the garden and items stored in shed Kiak, BBQ etc

Interaction with Guests

I will be there to meet with my guests when they arrive and will make arrangements for key drop off when they leave.

The Neighborhood

I love the peace and calm, the mountains, the sea walking on the beach with my little dog. You could have a swim in the clear water of wine strand beach or pier every day if you wish.
I do a lot of cycling lovely way to see the area, There is a lovely village, Ballyferriter 2km away it has pubs restaurants and a Gala supermarket.
Louis Mulcahy's world famous pottery is about 6km away well worth a visit.
Blasket Island heritage center is 10km away in Duncaoin and it is possible to take a ferry out to the Blasket Island from Duncaoin.
There are many walks in the area along the beaches or the mountains.
There is a Riasc which is an early christian monastic site within 1.5km of the cottage and Gallarus Oratory is about 3km
There are horse races along Beal Ban strand every year and also in Dingle town

Getting Around

A car is recommended but do bring your bikes. Bikes are available to rent in Dingle. There are some beautiful walks along the local beaches plenty of hill walking also bring strong shoes.

Other Things to Note

There is an extra charge for oil fired central heating and electricity. Both these utilities are on a meter which is read when you arrive and when you leave so you only pay for the amount of oil and electricity you use.
I will leave enough fuel so you can start a fire in the stove if you wish when you arrive. In winter or when its cold I generally have the stove lighting and the heat on for you at no extra charge.
