House Rules

Please note that Sam's Place is located in the more quiet residentail area of St Ives, which means that whilst it is just 5 minutes from the main hub-bub of the town centre, you also benefit from being in a more peaceful tranquil part of the town. For this reason we ask that no loud music is played in the flat after 10pm, and that noise is kept to a minimum to respect other people who live nearby. If you are a group of party-goers wishing to party into the wee small hours, then this accommodation is probably not the best for you.
We have a strict no pets and no smoking policy in the flat.
Please note: we are high up on a hill and this affords us that gorgeous view, but this also means there is quite a walk up lots of steps to reach us! There is a local bus service from the town centre to the leisure centre, which passes along Park Avenue and out flat.
However, we don't recommend our flat if you are a wheelchair user.

We ask that guests clear the flat of all rubbish before leaving on departure day.
We ask guests to ensure rubbish is emptied into the outside wheely bin on Thursday evenings, ready for rubbish collection on Friday mornings.

We take pride in leaving our flats beautifully clean and tidy and we always carry out a professional clean and laundry change during the change-over day between guests leaving and arriving, and we ask that you respect this and leave the flat in a clean and orderly state on your departure day - thank you.

Guests are to familiarise themselves with our information in the guest manual that is left in the flat, on arrival.

Lovely little flat with great views over St Ives. Easy walking distance to a public car park and into town, though as with everywhere in St Ives there are lots of steps! Six of us stayed here comfortably and had a great weekend, thank you.

We had a great time in Clare's flat. The view on St Ives from the living room is really beautiful. The flat has everything you need, very functional and clean. Overall very pleased with our stay.

Response from Clare:
Hi Raphaelle, We are pleased that you and your group enjoyed your stay at our flat. Thanks for your review and thanks for getting back to us with your feedback. I have passed on your remarks about the bedroom carpet to Polly, who cleans the flat for us. I was a little surprised to see your comments, as Polly is a very good and conscientious cleaner. She has responded to assure me that she vacuumed the room before changing the bedding, and again afterwards, and that she checked when finished to ensure all was ok. All we can think is that, as she had left the bedroom window open to keep the room aired, the wind had blown in debris after she left the flat. This has actually happened to me before when I've cleaned the flat - the bedroom is in a corner of the property that is very prone to getting filled with sand, bird feathers etc., and we have been experiencing some pretty strong winds of late. We are sorry that you weren't happy with the cleanliness of the carpet, but we honestly think this is something that happened after Polly had finished. The kitchen sink water - this is from a 5 ltr boiler under that sink, that heats up on a permanent thermostat. Once the 5 litres has been used up in the sink, the water does start to run cold. It heats up again within 2 minutes of the hot tap being turned off. We do explain this in the guest manual as we appreciate guests may think there is a problem with the hot water. But thanks again for your comments - we do take on board all things our guests tell us. Kind regards, Clare.

This beautiful flat is perfect for families and it's situated just a short footwalk away from the towncentre and supermarket...but it's also far enough to live in a calm and silent neighbourhood. The amazing harbourview is worth every pound. The equipment of the flat is more than average and the design inside is very nice. We got everything we needed and felt absolutely welcome. In the end we wished we could have stayed longer. Thanks for everything.

I've stayed at Sam's Place now for the third time with my three boys. They simply love it : the location, the spacious flat, the amazing view, the Playstation. We really felt at home and we are planning to go back, perhaps even this year.

My partner and I live in Hayle, and moved down to Cornwall, from Bradford, in 2009.
We run our holiday letting business together and I also have my own interior design company, also based in Hayle.
We refurbished our flats in St Ives, using my interior design skills and contacts within the industry, and think that our flats are a wonderful showcase for what we do and like doing.
We also have on display in the flats, some wonderful works of art and ceramics produced by local St Ives artists.
