You will feel like you're in a tree house! Enjoy rooftop living and panoramic views of Sayulita.

The space
This palapa "apartment" is built entirely of bamboo and palms. It is located on the top level of the complex and offers amazing views of Sayulita. It is nestled under a giant higuera (native fig) tree that provides shade, beautiful lighting and is home to a number of exotic birds from the region. Its hard to describe what a special spot this is so please take a look at the photos. Its comes with a kitchenette, a hotplate, full bathroom with hot shower, a very comfortable queen sized bed with mosquito netting, and a large terrace. It is a five minute walk to the main beach, restaurants, the plaza and the bus/taxi depot and about a 10 minute walk to Playa Los Muertos, a more private, secluded beach.

Located about an hour north of Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita is an amazing, well-rounded town with a fantastic nightlife, frequent cultural holidays and events, nice beaches, a farmers market, good surf, a wide variety of yoga, lots of nearby adventures, nice people, and great restaurants. Sayulita is surrounded by the rich, green jungle of Nayarit in the Bahia de Banderas municipality and is very accessible by bus (about 2 USD). Taxi is another great option though it’s about $65 USD more than the bus from the airport. You can rent a car but most people find it unnecessary unless you have serious plans to explore the region (versus relaxing in Sayulita). Nearby surf spots and adventures are accessible by taxi or by meeting people.

We are a Mexican meets American family with roots in Sayulita (him) and Hawaii (her). We usually have chairs and an umbrella for you to use and three good watchdogs on site.

Other things to note
You will enjoy the sight and sounds of birds as our neighborhood is home to many varieties of endangered and endemic birds. We also have 3 dogs on the property who are excellent protection for the house and are also great companions. They have their own space on the street level but if you feel like borrowing them, you are welcome to!

During your stay
We are friendly, multicultural family and we live downstairs. We are open to giving you tips on where to eat, who to talk to for surf lessons, and places to check out in the surrounding area. Of course, if you're here to unwind and do your own thing, we won't get in your way. Many people have commented that once they are up in the palapa they are in their own world.
