Guest Access

You have use of the deck, gas grill, gardens full of fruit tree's and herb garden. From our home you can take spectacular walks through sugar cane fields, along irrigation ditches flowing with water along and around reservoirs. My guests are welcome to enjoy this amazing place.

Interaction with Guests

The Islands have been my home from over 40 years and I am filled with gratitude for having the fortune to live in such a special place. We have hosted people from around the world, many return year after year. I am casual and easy going. In the studio you are completely isolated from our main house, but I am happy to give you guidance on whatever it is you come to Maui to experience.

The Neighborhood

The views are breathtaking. It is located at 800 feet above sea level perched above Maui's North shore. We are surrounded by sugar cane fields and pastures. We are 5 minutes above Paia and fabulous beaches famous for windsurfing and kite boarding. You can walk a mile along stunningly beautiful white sand beach from Paia to Spreckelsville. It is 20 minutes from the airport and big stores such as Costco and Walmart. Closer by, in Paia, Makawao, Haiku, and Pukalani, there are many small town stores and well over a dozen (maybe even 2 dozen) fabulous restaurants with an variety of foods ranging from BYOB sushi bar to a 5 star restaurant. This location is hands down the best location the North shore and Upcountry has to offer.

Getting around

You will need a car to get around Maui. There is a bus but the times are far apart. You can bike around but it is windy and hilly and not a realistic mode of transportation.

Other Things to Note

If you come to windsurf we have lots of space for your gear!

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Cindy's studio was perfect for my short stay on Maui. The location was perfect and easy to navigate to the places I wanted to visit. Also, I found out on my last night that there is a spiritual retreat/sanctuary right next door that offers walk in silent meditation rooms for free every morning! I was able to stop by on my last morning before heading to the airport. A nice finale to my trip. I especially liked the outdoor shower also! Very charming and comfortable. The pups were very cute too!

  • Cindy's studio is just GREAT!!! It was clean and inside was everything we needed. We even had beach towels.
The kitchen was completely functional, though we didn't use it. We were on vacation and didn't want to cook.
The outside shower was an awsome experience. What more can you wish for then showeing under stary skies or in the morning when you can see the sun come up over the mountain.
Cindy was very friendly and helpful. She gave is great advice, about the beach we should go to.
we would love to stay in her studio again.

  • A great quiet little place and the Hosts were very nice and accommodating. The outside shower is quite enjoyable. There is a bit of an ant problem and the bed is a little small and uncomfortable. Overall it was a good stay.

  • Cindy and her husband were great hosts. They live in the house next door and were always happy to share their local knowledge. The view from the property is really hard to beat. The studio was clean, quiet and plenty big for two. Loved the hot plate and the outdoor shower. I was able to safely store my windsurf and SUP gear in their yard. The only thing was that the bed is a bit small for me (6'1"). But we slept on the futon so it worked out great. Perfect for enjoying the North Shore.
