Interaction with Guests

Sometimes we meet and interact with guests and other times we never see guests. Each situation is unique. We have a lot of repeat guests and we've become good friends with many of those, so we often invite them up to our place for meals, or go out together, but others we never see.

We have great local music and art with venues ranging from 3 - 15 minutes including Rancho Nicasio, Fairfax Local Music Vibe, galleries, and great ORGANIC FARMS and restaurants. • This was the exact nature getaway we were looking for during a weekend City escape. Ideally set amongst the trees in Forest Knoll, this wonderful and cozy nest was the perfect setting to a relaxing weekend in the beautiful outdoors of Northern California. Close to Fairfax, that has amazing food, bars, and cafes and guests also enjoy 10% off Artii Indian food. This a wonderful stay and we cannot wait to return!

We also were so thankful for Marcia's very warm welcome to the home.

    Response from Marcia:

Please come back! You're our #1 stellar guests. We'd love to see more of you in this valley (or over the hill). Cheers, Marcia & Andy

  • Marcia and Andy are just the perfect hosts. Super thorough in their instructions, available at any time to answer questions and great people with such kind hearts. They made sure we were 100% comfortable and taken care of.

Highly recommend finding time to "get away" to the EcoNEST! The location is ideal for all manner of awesome outdoor activities (we hiked and kayaked) and so cozy. We loved coming in from a great day outdoors and heating up the fire with a good book!

    Response from Marcia:

Thanks Joanna. This unseasonable cold evening weather adds meaning to "warming up in the NEST". Glad you enjoyed it, and also glad that the weather was so sunny and warm so you could hike and kayak. I'm glad you found the way to the spiral circle. Now you're officially initiated into the San Geronimo Valley! Marcia & Andy

  • We had an amazing stay at the EcoNest! The setting could not be more relaxing for a weekend get away. It was close enough to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. but far away from traffic, crowds of people, etc. The Eco Nest was very private and secluded. Before we arrived, Marcia was very accommodating in making sure that we had the directions, felt comfortable, etc.

The bed was very comfortable and all of the amenities including the bathroom, small kitchen, etc. were wonderful as well.

I cannot say enough positive things about this place, I recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxed getaway or a wonderful place to stay when exploring the nature of Marin county.

  • The EcoNest is the perfect haven. We arrived fatigued and in need of a retreat and left feeling well-rested and rejuvenated. The EcoNest is spacious, comfy, and exceptionally clean. But best of all, it's fragrance and chemical-free -- an important consideration for us due to allergies. The shower was heavenly -- excellent water pressure and absolutely spotless, and the bed was cozy and comfy with 100% organic bedding. We've stayed at other b&bs in West Marin, but nothing comes close to the EcoNest in terms of cleanliness, comfort, and tranquility. Marcia and Andy are gracious hosts and pointed out some great local spots to eat (including Arti's -- a fantastic Indian restaurant that's within walking distance). The Nest is just a short drive to Pt. Reyes and Stinson, but we spent our morning lounging around on the sunny balcony overlooking the trees. The Nest is a rare find -- a little slice of paradise deep in the heart of the forest and yet just a short drive from the East Bay and San Francisco. We can't wait to return.

    Response from Marcia:

Hi Anna, Thank you. We're looking forward to the time you return. We're glad you enjoyed your time in our NEST, and thank you for the care you took while you were here. All the best, Marcia & Andy

This was a return visit for me to the NEST, and what an amazing place it is. From the moment I arrived on my first visit I felt at home. Marcia and Andy have created a lovely, serene retreat up in the trees and I couldn’t wait to come back.

The NEST is beautifully decorated and pristinely clean. You can see and feel the love and attention the owners have given to this space. Their dedication to ecologically conscious living is evident in all areas of the NEST. Marcia inquired before I arrived about my breakfast preferences, and I was greeted with luscious organic berries, wonderful teas, raw milk… yum!

Usually when I am traveling I am out and about, but the NEST called me to mostly stay put and just be. Both visits were peaceful and healing. I spent a good amount of time on the balcony up in the trees drawing and writing as well as in front of the cozy gas stove. It’s been a long time since I felt so “settled” in a place. I will be back SOON! Thank you, thank you thank you!

    Response from Marcia:

    Thank you Radiance.

We'd love to host you any time, and hope your come back soon. Andy & I really enjoyed meeting you this trip, and spending some time getting to know you.

    Peaceful trails until we meet

  • The Eco-Nest is one of my favorite places to stay. My first stay at the nest was over a year ago. I come to the valley where the nest is for meditation workshops and jewelry business. I use The Nest as a safe place to stay in between appointments and workshops. I am always pleased to see The Nest is available because I suffer from allergies and there are very few places where I can feel so comfortable. The Eco-Nest is always clean, cheerful, free of allergens and chemicals, so it's right up my alley. In addition, I love the local artwork and colorful decor.

In addition to the comfort, I enjoy the privacy in the woods. The nest is situated in a beautiful location up against a hill, so I feel like I am in a bright and spacious tree house. I can sit outside doing my artwork on the big deck that is drenched in sun and watch deer go by and listen to birds singing. Marcia has a nice library of books on health, sustainable living, alternatives to toxic chemicals, spirituality, and some novels so I can relax and read inside or out. The big double glass doors and windows to the private balcony blend the indoors with the outdoors, and I always feel peaceful when staying there.

This time while I was there I got to pick ripe plums from the trees on the property, as well as delicious wild blackberries all along the road. Marcia also left me some herbal teas which she grew in her organic garden. Plus, the local organic restaurant gave me a discount when I told them I was staying with Marcia. Their food is divine - probably the best Indian food I've ever had.

I was so pleased to be able to stay at The Nest again and I am looking forward to my next visit. I have recommended The Nest to several friends who have also enjoyed the hospitality and quaint setting. I am grateful that I can find a safe, peaceful place to stay that is free from carpet, chemicals, and smells. Marcia also has an art and music studio in a separate location on the property that is open to guests who want to paint or play music, and I will make time to participate in those pursuits on my next visit as I didn't have enough time this weekend. Maybe I'll come back to just focus on myself next time, and not business and workshops in the area. I would love to do that and explore my artwork in the blissfully peaceful, clean, and wonderful Eco-Nest. Thank you Marcia!!!

    Response from Marcia:

Hello Michelle, I hope you can come again soon and stay longer, and yes, without business meetings so you can just enjoy your own work. Thank you also for the beautiful handmade card. So inspiring. All the best, Marcia

  • Marcia pronounced Marsha was a great host. Although our stay was only for a night she provided the right amount of personal touches to make us feel welcome:

A Comprehensive email with highlights of the nearby restaurants and beaches
Communication via email, text, and phone to make sure my family's needs were met

Traveling with a toddler isn't the easiest so it was nice to have someone that was so understanding.

Thank you beautiful family. You can come back any time. Marcia

  • We were looking for a comfortable, relaxing getaway amidst beautiful nature and we found all of this and more at the-ECO-NEST! The colorful fabrics, works of art, wooden floors, comfy furniture, luxurious shower, bathroom and kitchen together with the peacefulness of the balcony and breathtaking views contributed to a rare ambiance of tranquility and harmony. We received a warm and friendly welcome from Marcia and Andy, along with a nice card and champagne for our celebration. Their recommendations to outstanding restaurants (we loved Arti Cafe and TwoBird Cafe), beaches, parks and other local attractions were very helpful. Thank you, Marcia and Andy, for a great weekend!

  • Eco-nest is a lovely little place, filled with beautiful and sustainably made art and products.

Marcia & Andy made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended!

    July 2013
  • My wife and I had a great experience staying at the Nest! The location itself was quiet and peaceful. The nest was decorated nicely and had all the things we were looking for. Marcia was a great host.. She was very thoughtful in all areas and made us feel very comfortable.. She had a birthday card for my wife when we arrived and even left us some things for us to eat, based on our lifestyle/diet choices!

It is located in a place where you can enjoy the outdoors and/or spend some time on your own type of "retreat." We were able to visit Spirit Rock Meditation Center for yoga, Samuel Taylor park for hiking, Point Reyes for a beach lunch, and into Fairfax for dinner and hanging out.. even walking around the neighborhood was enjoyable.

I recommend this place for anyone looking to RELAX and enjoy nature.. We hope to come back here in the future!
