About this listing
Small but spotless bathroom. Great for the person who likes to know these amenities are always being disinfected
A very cute well kept and lightly used flat in the heart of downtown Portland. 1-4 block from countless award winning restaurants and bars, 7 Blocks from the beautiful Pearl district, 3 blocks from the Portland Timbers Soccer Stadium. Few blocks from multiple theaters, brew pubs, and concert venues.
The Embassy Condominiums is a restored building dating back to almost 100 years ago. The flat is on the second floor, very accessible and comfortable. Overlooking the courtyard which was remodeled this year.
Great walking neighborhoods, endlees entertainment, or just stay in and cozy up and enjoy a movie on the big screen TV. Free internet and free laundry, washer/dryer.
And if you can't find what your looking for within a few blocks, then the light rail and bus stop are only a few blocks away.
It is a single room with separate kitchen, bathroom and closet areas. So the bed pulls out of a falls wall like a vintage style murphy bed. Technically you could sleep 4, one on the couch, one on the small pull out couch, and 2 in the bed. But it is ideal for 2 people.
Expected that heat, stove, and all electronics are turned off when leaving premises. Kitchen is kept clean especially if using oven. And be courteous to neighbors especially by keeping noise down in the hallways.
Lovely studio in an exceptionally walkable part of PDX.
Host was responsive to queries and had setting his place up for guests down to a science.
Overall, a great airbnb experience.
We had a lovely time. John's apartment is charming and clean. Great, walkable neighborhood, gorgeous old building with original features. Well appointed and thoughtfully outfitted. If you are a picky sleeper like me, I might recommend bringing sheets as the ones provided -while new and clean- are synthetic. All in all a great experience, the host was prompt and helpful with all communication.
We had the most wonderful time at John's apartment - it was clean, beautifully decorated and appointed with everything we could need (including a fully equipped kitchen and onsite laundry). The apartment is located in a very pretty and happening area of Portland (confirmed by our sighting of Portlandia/SNL comedian, Fred Armisen) with numerous restaurants, shops, and music venues within walking distance. It's also very close to Washington and Forest Parks should you be inspired to go for a hike.
John was an excellent host - quickly responding to our questions and even allowing us to check out a bit later so we didn't have to lug our bags around the city while we waited for our rental car.
If you are visiting Portland this is the definitely the place you want to stay. We can't wait to come back.
John was an absolutely wonderful host. He gave us some GREAT suggestions for food in the area and was more than helpful with anything that we needed. He always responded promptly to my texts, which is awesome.
The apartment itself was clean and very homey. The wall is actually a pull down bed, which was just about the coolest thing my husband and I had ever seen. Towels, sheets, and pillows were provided and clean.
The apartment complex is charming with a cute courtyard in the center that's ideal for reading. There's also a neighbor who plays the piano beautifully which is amazingly relaxing.
Located within walking distance of the MAX (the local lighrail) it was a cinch to get anywhere in town we wanted to go. It's also just blocks away from THE BEST ice cream I've ever had at the Salt & Straw.
All in all, I had a wonderful experience at John's place and will be renting from him again if I ever find myself in Portland again!
John's apartment could not have been more perfect. It is better than advertised and the surrounding Alphabet district was a perfect place to come home to each night. We didn't have a car but one was not needed. The place was a short walk from the rail station. Really it was a short walk from everywhere including to the Timbers game we went to one night and the car rental place that we used to go hiking in the Columbia river gorge. We were able to do laundry for free as well. This was our first time to Portland and if we ever came back we would definitely stay at John's.
Great stay in Johns place, which is perfectly located for Portland and all it has to offer. Right near NW21st and 23rd streets which are great for food, bars and shopping. The place was as described and as per the pictures - just right for 2 people.
Just one thing to note, that isn't Johns fault - parking is a bit of an issue, and in theory isn't free all day on premises as described.
Overall, a really good stay. Would recommend.
John was very helpful for food and entertainment tips for the Portland area. Very responsive to questions. Location is great, unit is clean and perfect for anyone wanting to experience Portland. I would highly recommend booking with John for anyone.
