About This Listing
Come visit and live like a Carrboro native in this bright, clean home just a short walk from all the attractions of Carrboro and Chapel Hill. Couch space in a home shared with your hosts and three friendly cats.
A small ranch home in a quiet neighborhood. Just inside the front door, there's a comfy pull-out couch in the bright living room that comfortably sleeps 2 people (and up to 3 cats if you like them).
Shared bathroom with a tub/shower combo and a charmingly scruffy kitchen (everything works, but we've been about to paint the cabinets for a while now). Space in the fridge, use of all appliances & dishes. The laundry room is in the back. The only thing that's off limits are the two bedrooms. We have to have somewhere to keep the clutter. :)
Interaction with Guests
I'm a laid-back host, but I would like to meet you when you arrive to give your your key and answer any questions you may have. After that it's up to you how much interaction you'd like. I'd be happy to provide recommendations for local restaurants or even cook a duck-egg omelette for you on a weekend morning.
It's close to everything but very quiet. About half of my neighbors are retired or work at home, so there's always someone around.
Free parking on street. One block from J & CW bus lines which are free and run all week. No buses on weekends but it's only a short walk to downtown Carrboro.
No smoking indoors. Please respect the need of others for quiet at night. The cats must remain inside.
The bed is quite comfortable, the location is convenient, the house is clean. Catherine is a very kind host, and the cats are also quite friendly!
my very first air bnb stay could not have been better. Catherine was super nice and the cats are fun and entertaining. we had a very long trip before coming in and slept perfectly. the experience was way more enjoyable than staying in a hotel and gave my sister and i alot more wiggle room with seeing all my old friends. its walking distance to the cats cradle and weaver street and all the great record stores. ive said thank you a hundred times, but here is one more, THANK YOU!! we had a really nice stay.
Catherine has a nice home that really is a short walk from downtown. We walked to a show at Cat's Cradle, hung out downtown a bit, and walked back. Catherine made us breakfast in the morning and we got to play with her adorable cats (though only once we requested). She was a very laid-back and accommodating host. Even though the bed is in a common area of the house, we felt as if we had privacy. Would definitely stay there again.
I greatly enjoyed my stay here. The hosts were very kind and courteous. The cats are also very well behaved and really sweet. The location is very cool and the proximity to downtown is awesome.
Catherine's gentle kindness, graciousness, and attention to the details of guests' comfort are both exceptional. This is a mature, quiet, smoothly run household. Although this is a futon in the living room, it feels surprisingly similar to being in a private room. By all means, Catherine and her "cozy space" are Airbnb at its best!
I had a brief but enjoyable stay with Catherine. Her place is clean, quiet and convenient to everything. She even offers a breakfast with eggs from the ducks in her back yard!! I enjoyed her company and would certainly stay with her again.
About the Host, Catherine
I'm a queer beekeeper living in the Southern hippie paradise that is Carrboro. I love cooking, gardening, and playing with my 2 cats. One day I hope to have enough disposable income to do some more traveling, especially in Scandinavia.
I'm a laid-back host - after all, how much formality can there be in renting out a couch? Only two musts for coming to stay with me: LGBTQ-friendliness and not being deathly allergic to cats. An adventurous attitude and an appreciation for good food are also much appreciated.
