It was quite shocking to see an unknown man peeking over our back fence! I later realized it was your husband and I wrote a message to apologized
to you if I seemed rude. After several bad experiences, I started sending house rules to future guests to make sure they understand them. Sometimes guests don't read house rules so I tried to make it easier. Also, I know you were upset because your reservation did not include 2 extra people who would have been in and out of our home during your stay. I apologize for not being more sensitive and catering to your needs better. This is the message you felt threatened by that states our house rules:
Due to some negative experience with guests lately, I am now sending house rules to guests to have them acknowledge before their stay. Please inform your entire party of our rules. If something doesn't suit you, please let me know and we can cancel your reservation. I've had to start doing this because it is our home and we have to protect it. Let me know if everyone in your party agrees to abide by our rules. Communication is extremely important in this industry.
Thanks so much,
We DO NOT allow vaping or smoking in the house or around the outside. Do not bring guests who are not on the reservation. Our home is monitored and we do not appreciate extra guests without prior notice. Please do not drag/move heavy objects on the floors, it will scratch the floors and we will use your security deposit for damages if there are any. Please do not flush feminine products or wads of paper products, the sewer will clog. Our washer and dryer are not for guest use. We use them for personal and business uses and can't risk them breaking when operating a business. Take your shoes off and stay a while, enjoy the slippers provided at the door. The entry door is on a hinge that will slam if you don't guide it when closing. Our dogs will bark when they hear voices or the garage door opening and closing. You will find a welcome book with house rules, safety card, manuals for appliances, etc. on the bench in the entryway. Any other questions, please let us know!
