About this listing
The sublet is a sunny studio apartment in the mission district in the
"The hippest block in SF" according to the utne reader.
There is one large room, a separate bathroom and a separate kitchen.
There are a lot of great coffee shops such as Four Barrel, Ritual, (website hidden)-Rite is nearby, an beautiful family owned grocery store. Bookstores-Modern Times and Dog Eared books.
Nearby Art Galleries include SOMARTS, Intersection for the Arts, Cell Space. I work at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts which is across the street from MoMA and it takes me 15 min to get to work.
Mission Delores is nearby as is Dolores Park, THE hipster hang out to drink coffee and pastries from Tartine and or eat ice cream from Bi Rite Creamery.
It is super easy to get around from my place. BART is one block away. Its a ten min ride to downtown.
The neighborhood is BIKE friendly. Bike lanes run down my street all the way to down town.
The best thing about my apartment is its location and the light.
The apartment is on a very busy street though, so it is loud.
This is like a graduate student's dorm room though, so if you want fancy, you might want to look elsewhere.
The location was perfect for my husband and I. Our event was in Potrero Hill, but we wanted to stay in a more lively area. The location is in a very fun neighborhood with a lot going on. We're walkers and everywhere we wanted to go was within a couple miles from here.
Bring earplugs if you are not used to sleeping with a lot of noise, otherwise, enjoy the sounds of the busy city below. Kara was easy to communicate with and her place was just what we were hoping for with this trip - a cozy, easy to access, place to sleep after days of adventuring in the city. Would stay here again in the future.
A side note for parking - we found a great spot a few blocks away (18th and Shotwell) to leave the car - for free - for 4 days. Read and re-read the signs and didn't keep anything valuable in it. Worked out great!
Kara was a very responsive host. She really tries her best to give her guests the most enjoyable experience while staying at her place.
The location of the apartment is very central and even if you decide to cab/uber to anywhere, the costs will be quite reasonable.
The unit was in a great location just as described. It was close to cool restaurants, funky shops, and lively bars. Also as described it is very loud at night, it was nice of Kara to get us ear plugs.
Kara's place is a perfect place to stay if you want to experience the area around Valencia street! The appartment is pretty basic but all right.
Such an awesome experience with Kara and her apt! Our flight was delayed twice and so was BART, but she was totally flexible and had her housekeeper meet us when we finally made it to SF. Her apt is cozy and in such a fantastic location. We loved everything about it! If you're looking for a real San Francisco experience this is it. Super noisy street with tons of bars and restaurants. We ate out one night and then cooked one night at the apt in the super cute little kitchen. Kara had plenty of supplies for us to use and it really felt like an at home experience. We will definitely be making our way back to Karas place in the future!
What a cozy place. I made the booking late, while I was laid over in Chicago, Kara was accommodating and prompt to reply. She is someone who cares about doing the right thing, I was refunded the cleaning fee when because of the last minute booking. I appreciate that she initiated that.
Easy check in and Kara was very accommodating when we wanted to check in early.
Nice and close to the train line which is great and good street for food ect
Only thing I would recommend is to get the key fixed, it was a bit sticky and hard to use all the time but thanks for a good stay
