Wide & Sunny at Santiago's Heart

Apartment - Private room · General Bustamante, Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile

Charming & sunny room in a beautiful 50's building. You can rest after work or after being around in town. Park, Metro, buses and cycling through the nicest quarters of Santiago. Charming cafés & restaurants close enough.

The Space

Hi, sunny rooms at 140 m2 apartment in a bright and pleasant central neighbourhood.
The one I'm offering here is the NORDIC ROOM-room facing north, about 10 square meters. Closet. Sun in winter and shade in summer. Large shared bathroom. Bed 1.05 cm Cable TV and Wifi

We are right in front of Parque Bustamante, a huge green area, with a literary café (public library & coffee shop) in the Park, 30 meters from home.

You can rent town cycles at 100 meters, next to the Baquedano Metro station, in the heart of the city.

It is a charming district, connected by parks with other areas of the city. Bustamante Park connects to Park Forestal to the West, on the banks of the river, leading to the old town and city markets. Towards the East, it connects to Parque Balmaceda, which takes you to the heart of Providence. All this can be done walking, cycling or by Metro (and bus, clear)

Universities nearby there are several: the Christian Humanism Academy University, school of law and business at the University of Chile and also the school of architecture at the same University.

There is a supermarket and pharmacy at 100 meters and the Hospital at the same distance. Also restaurants and several barcitos, with pleasant meals from various countries.

It is a very charming, quiet neighborhood. On Saturday there is a time to dance/gymnastics in the Park: "salsa" to cheer up.

The common areas are spacious, a Hall and dining room, kitchen, etc. but the main thing is ithat we try to make a HOME, for those sharing the days with us, where you can be in company, but can also be on your own.

The rent includes Wifi, Tv cable, gas, electricity and water, as well as a weekly cleaning. Doña Aurora washes the clothes of each one and change bed linen and towels.

I am a filmmaker and anthropologist. I am 64 years old and often have worked and lived much with young people. I am a Chilean, also Spanish citizen and have lived part of my life here, there and in Finland

But if you prefer to be at your own, take a look to the nice and central apartment with bedroom, living, bath & small kitchen we have for you in the other listing

Interaction with Guests

It is up to the needs of guests and the common feeling. Some like to share, some like solitide.
We can share a nice time and a wine bottle or a cattle of tea, or just be on ones own, at the room or the common places.
I live at the place and have my own kingdom in a sunny corner looking at the park. So I will usually be around if needed for information or anything you wish

  • I really enjoyed my stay at Nené's flat which has a very nice view of the Bustamante Park and is very well located. Nené is a great host, very kind and helpful. Her cat is very adorable. Last day, we had the opportunity to have a nice talk. Well, I really hope to be back in Santiago soon and of course in Nene's flat. :P

  • Nené is a really great host! I spent five wonderful and quiet days at her flat. The neighborhood is ideal, close to the metro and with a wonderful view to the Bustamante Park. If I go back to Santiago I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Nené's again!

  • Nene is an awesome lady, she is very pleasant to talk to, and her apartment is always very clean and tidy. The location is unbeatable since its close to every line of metro and also right infront of a beautiful park, with a beautiful view. The Room itself is small but it has all the facilities you need, the bed is amazingly comfortable, there is a desk so you can work. Sometimes you don't get these things even in the best hotels. :) Will definetely stay back here if i go back to Santiago! Thank you Nene!

  • Nene was a warmly welcoming and interesting host. Her apartment is a very pleasant place from which to experience Santiago, or you can just sit in the living room or in the delightful double bedroom and enjoy watching life being lived in the park across the road. While I was there trapeze artists practiced, children played, amorous couples made out and dogs lounged around. There are good cafes nearby and great public transport. I'd love to stay again.

    Response from Nené:

You are really welcome, NIcole. Is nice to see the own place through other people's eyes. Refreshening.

  • I needed a room in short notice and Nene welcomed me into her home 2 hours later. We coked lasagna together one of the nights and I thought that she was a great host.

  • Nené was extremely warm and very helpful. She gave me great recommendations for where to eat and pick up some of the things I needed. The room was perfect and had a lovely view of the park across the street, in addition to being very centrally located and within walking distance of anything you could need.

  • Nené is awesome! She cooked lunch for me the first time I went to see the apartment. She's a very interesting person and has many things to talk about. I have a lot to learn from Nené and her life's experiences. But don't let that fool you... she's very young at heart and very much fun to be with. I definitely count her as one of my dear friends in Santiago.

The room is fantastic and very comfortable. If you are a responsible, optimistic, polite and open-minded person then look no further. Enjoy!

  • I came late from the airport to one of the conventions I needed to be, Nene was ready just take my luggage and hand over key, a quick but very warm welcome hug and off I was.
I knew it was so close to all the places I needed to go, but "boy"... how central located it is, I realized during my stay! Its perfect!
Great supermarket just around the corner, park in front of house, great restaurants everywhere...
About Nene; all i can say is that I could not have had it better in ANY way! She is a true host by heart, i can tell since I work in the hospitality industry all my life long!
I never felt isolated or alone in a new big city where I knew nobody and hence, one of the other guests, Chilean himself, took me out my last night and showed me around!
One night we all thru our food together and eat tortillas, drank what ever we had and enjoyed an international table! GRANDE!!!
Nene is the center of it all and takes care of each and everybody, a super warm and sooo interesting personality!
If i can go back, I will be staying there again, of course, I felt like home and slept like a baby!

    Response from Nené:

Thanks, Lela, for your words and feelings. I'm really happy we came close all together: You., Victor, NOra, Nick and his friend.... Those moments are little treasures to keep under my pillow.
    A warm Hug

  • Staying with Nene was like staying with extended family! I was warmly welcomed by her and other guests. The location is fabulous, with everything within easy walking distance or metro. This was my first airbnb experience, and not my last. Thanks again Nene for having me
