Our desire is to create a warm and friendly atmosphere where our guests feel at home and we can give them a sense of the spirit and hospitality typical of Neapolitans.
The Bed and Breakfast Sant'Elmo is very centrally located and perfectly connected to the rest of the city. We are just a 10-minute walk from the central station in Piazza Garibaldi where all trains arrive from all the great cities in Italy. You can also catch the Circumvesuviana trains there for day trips to and from the Roman ruins of Pompei and Ercolano, and to the seaside town of Sorrento. We are close to 2 Metro lines that take you everywhere in the city and just a 15 minute bus ride from the Beverello port where you can take ferries to the islands of Capri, Procida and Ischia.
Most of Naple's famous attractions can be reached on foot: the National Archaeological museum, the Cathedral, the churches of Santa Chiara, Gesù Nuovo, s. Domenico Maggiore and Spaccanapoli (see the "Guidebook" on this page).
There are two separate rooms available. This page is for booking "Blu". (If it is not available please click on my picture on this home page to access my other room "Sant'Elmo Bianco")
The price of each bedroom (with a queen sized bed) is 52.00 euro per night for 2 people and breakfast. We can also acccommodate a single person in the rooms for 36.00 euros per night with breakfast. Single persons click on "Contact Me" (rather then "Book it") and ask for a special offer.
The rooms are spacious, bright and quiet with windows and comfortably furnished. During the summer we cool our rooms with fans.
TV, WiFi (good connection).
Breakfast is served in your room and is adaptable according to your preference.
The comfortable bathroom (outside of the rooms) is shared.
Fresh towels, and soaps come with the room and a hair dryer is available for your use.
We are on the 4th floor of a building without an elevator.
I have my dog Pigone in my part of the apartment. He is nice and quiet and does not have access to my guest rooms.
Annamaria was a fantastic host! We had such a great stay in her B & B. The breakfast she prepared was delicious and so sweet of her to do. The B & B was super clean and very comfortable. Annamaria was very easy to deal with and make our stay very easy. Thanks again for a great stay!
I will try to keep this as fair as possible since this was so close to being a positive review up until we left.
Positives: We had breakfast brought to our rooms at the time we specified, clean room, comfortable bed. (All which can be found elsewhere)
Downsides: It was not in a safe area and up an alley way; very weak wifi (didn't work the first night), smoker, her dog ran into our room, hard to communicate with, no air conditioning and too noisy outside to leave the window open at night, and lastly, she is extremely rude (explained below).
Once my boyfriend and I were ready to leave, we cleaned our room, disposed of any trash and packed up our things as we usually do until we realized we had misplaced the keys. I knew they were in the room because I used them to get into all 3 locks to the building and apartment door. We scoured the room, unpacked and re-packed our bags about 3 or 4 times each also while
in her presence. We kept repeating we would find it and regardless we stressed we would pay in full for replacement if it got to that point. Finally she found the keys underneath the dresser (probably slipped under as we were packing ) and that's when we saw her worst side. With her limited English, she managed to call us "bad people," alcoholics, and drug addicts as well as making hand motions to signify heroin usage. She kicked us out yelling at us. Mind you, my boyfriend doesn't even touch alcohol let alone drugs. I am a student traveling before I start my college's study abroad program and to dismiss us immediately with baseless, heated name-calling was completely uncalled for. We understand the frustration but that reaction and treatment is absolutely not allowed. I do not recommend her place knowing she has the capacity to react in such an ill-mannered, hot tempered and irrational way. There are plenty of other B&Bs with capable and level-headed hosts. Avoid this place. But thank you to airbnb for helping us through this situation.
Annamaria is a wonderful hostess!
She will be glad to help you find your way in the district and answers your questions about the city if you have any.
Her place is nice and cosy, you really feel like home.
Also, at night it's not noisy so you can sleep like a baby (the bed is so nice!).
We went there twice and tried both rooms (the white and the blue).
The white one is bigger but they are both very good.
Annamaria was a great host. While I was only in Naples for two nights, she was extremely accommodating. The apartment is only a 10-15 walk from the train station and is easy to find. The room itself is very comfortable, quiet and a great place to stay after a day of exploring Naples. I would definitely recommend.
A great location and a gracious host are what made this stay most comfortable. Naples has more to explore than would appear just looking at a map, and Annamaria was more than willing to point those attractions out.
Look forward to coming back.
Annamaria is friendly and you will immediately feel welcome in her B&B. However in a busy part of the centro storico, the rooms on de third floor of the appartment building are not very noisy because of the crazy trafic. Annamaria does everything to feel you comfortly, gives special tips of Napoli and serves wonderful breakfasts according a wishlist!
We certainly will be back in Sant'Elmo visiting Napoli in the future.
Annamaria was very welcoming and a lovely host! We arrived quite late and she helped us in finding a nearby restaurant. The area is perfect as right near the station too! The breakfast was lovely and her dog is absolutely lovely! All very clean and felt like home straight away! Thank you and we would definitely stay here again
Annamaria was a great host, she provided a great spread for breakfast and was really helpful with suggestions. As others mentioned, she has a dog, but she's really sweet and stays out of the bedrooms. The bnb is pretty close to the train station, so it's quite accessible. The area it's in is a bit hectic and loud, so may not be for everyone. However, I think that is authentic, colorful Napoli!
