Our desire is to create a warm and friendly atmosphere where our guests feel at home and we can give them a sense of the spirit and hospitality typical of Neapolitans.
The Bed and Breakfast Sant'Elmo is very centrally located and perfectly connected to the rest of the city. We are just a 10-minute walk from the central station in Piazza Garibaldi where all trains arrive from all the great cities in Italy. You can also catch the Circumvesuviana trains there for day trips to and from the Roman ruins of Pompei and Ercolano, and to the seaside town of Sorrento. We are close to 2 Metro lines that take you everywhere in the city and just a 15 minute bus ride from the Beverello port where you can take ferries to the islands of Capri, Procida and Ischia.
Most of Naple's famous attractions can be reached on foot: the National Archaeological museum, the Cathedral, the churches of Santa Chiara, Gesù Nuovo, s. Domenico Maggiore and Spaccanapoli (see the "Guidebook" on this page).
There are two separate rooms available. This page is for booking "Blu". (If it is not available please click on my picture on this home page to access my other room "Sant'Elmo Bianco")
The price of each bedroom (with a queen sized bed) is 52.00 euro per night for 2 people and breakfast. We can also acccommodate a single person in the rooms for 36.00 euros per night with breakfast. Single persons click on "Contact Me" (rather then "Book it") and ask for a special offer.
The rooms are spacious, bright and quiet with windows and comfortably furnished. During the summer we cool our rooms with (website hidden), WiFi (good connection).
Breakfast is served in your room and is adaptable according to your preference.
The comfortable bathroom (outside of the rooms) is shared.
Fresh towels, and soaps come with the room and a hair dryer is available for your use.
We are on the 4th floor of a building without an elevator.
I have my dog Pigone in my part of the apartment. He is nice and quiet and does not have access to my guest rooms.
"In the house I don't have any particular rules to follow other then those common sense ones that allow everyone to live in harmony.
Only one thing: in Naples we are fighting for the differentiated garbage collection and for this reason I ask that my guests use the different containers for glass, plastic and paper
My husband and I had a very comfortable stay in Annamaria's home. The room was clean and breakfast was yummy! Annamaria was always accessible, helpful and informative. Her walking directions from the train station were explict and exact, but it takes more than "ten minutes" if you are pulling your luggage. Also, she is on the 5th floor with no elevator; steep, high steps all the way; a good work out, but not fun when you have luggage and bags! However, the apartment is conveniently located within walking distance to the heart of Naples. We had a very early flight and Annamaria arranged for a taxi to pick us up and she even made us a to-go breakfast to take with us. We appreciated her kindness. She is a jewelry artist and it was interesting to hear her talk about her work. We would definitely recommend her place and plan to stay with her again. Grazie, Annamaria!
Again, thank you!
It 'was very pleasant to have you as guests, and I will be happy to accommodate you even if you decide to go back to my button Naples.
I'm glad of your appreciation for my craft work.
I always tell my guests, when they arrive on the third floor: you have arrived in paradise!!!
Annamaria was a friendly and welcoming host. She waited for my late arrival and explained key things about Naples and was happy to answer any queries I had. Overall, I enjoyed staying at Sant Elmo B&B as it was close to the historic centre, train station, airport, supermarkets and metro. After a short drive (10-15min) from the airport, I was outside Vico Sant'Elmo. it is a 10 second walk to the door from there and Annamaria buzzed me into the building straight away. There were clear signs for where to go to find the B&B - 3rd floor of the residential building, it was certainly a work out with steep steps but nothing too back-breaking for a healthy person. If you walk to the station it gets dirtier and not very pleasant so I didn't walk late at night but it is absolutely fine during the day/evening. If you go to the right, you hit Via Foria with supermarkets and a lovely bakery. Go straight and you are in the historic centre.
The room (Blanco) was clean and spacious, had a fan and plenty of space. The bathroom was also very clean. There are a couple of glasses and a microwave to heat tea/soup outside - it might be good to have a small kettle for this (although this is very much a Southern Europe thing - I had the same experience in Spain :)) Breakfast was fairly basic and on the first day my fresh orange juice was spoiled. Also, after taking my order on the first day - it remained the same and there wasn't a check to see if I still wanted the same thing at the same time every day. Not a massive problem though. Would be great to see a 'no-breakfast' option offered for this b&b.
Overall, I really enjoyed the stay in Sant Elmo B&B and Naples: it is a great city with lots of culture, amazing museums, delicious food and energy and the B&B is perfectly located for exploring Naples. Even though the city is in a state of slight disrepair and does look shabby in some places, please do not take it against it - if you take time to explore it and see how locals go about their day, you will see that it is just another community that is doing the best it can. I travelled by myself and felt safe staying in the city and on the days when I stayed out late near Toledo area (10pm), I just got a taxi back so that I didn’t have to walk through the station area (which wasn’t awful but certainly not the nicest place in the city) or historic centre with its dark and small streets. Thank you to Annamaria and Naples for the great city-break!
The apparent is situated 10m by foot to the train station including another train to Pompeii, etc. I was traveling alone, so walking home was a bit scary. My neighbors were very nice and one man even gave me a ride to the port to catch a hydrofoil to Capri. So sweet, but at night it's better to walk in couples. The hostess is very attentive and just. I was given all the instructions and answered all my questions. The apartment is very nice and clean and the breakfast that Annamarie makes everyday at the time you request is very convenient. If you are a girl traveling alone - I would have gotten an apartment closer to the water, if a couple - definitely fine. Thanks for a pleasant stay :)
Annamaria was a fantastic host! We had such a great stay in her B & B. The breakfast she prepared was delicious and so sweet of her to do. The B & B was super clean and very comfortable. Annamaria was very easy to deal with and make our stay very easy. Thanks again for a great stay!
I will try to keep this as fair as possible since this was so close to being a positive review up until we left.
Positives: We had breakfast brought to our rooms at the time we specified, clean room, comfortable bed. (All which can be found elsewhere)
Downsides: It was not in a safe area and up an alley way; very weak wifi (didn't work the first night), smoker, her dog ran into our room, hard to communicate with, no air conditioning and too noisy outside to leave the window open at night, and lastly, she is extremely rude (explained below).
Once my boyfriend and I were ready to leave, we cleaned our room, disposed of any trash and packed up our things as we usually do until we realized we had misplaced the keys. I knew they were in the room because I used them to get into all 3 locks to the building and apartment door. We scoured the room, unpacked and re-packed our bags about 3 or 4 times each also while
in her presence. We kept repeating we would find it and regardless we stressed we would pay in full for replacement if it got to that point. Finally she found the keys underneath the dresser (probably slipped under as we were packing ) and that's when we saw her worst side. With her limited English, she managed to call us "bad people," alcoholics, and drug addicts as well as making hand motions to signify heroin usage. She kicked us out yelling at us. Mind you, my boyfriend doesn't even touch alcohol let alone drugs. I am a student traveling before I start my college's study abroad program and to dismiss us immediately with baseless, heated name-calling was completely uncalled for. We understand the frustration but that reaction and treatment is absolutely not allowed. I do not recommend her place knowing she has the capacity to react in such an ill-mannered, hot tempered and irrational way. There are plenty of other B&Bs with capable and level-headed hosts. Avoid this place. But thank you to airbnb for helping us through this situation.
Annamaria is a wonderful hostess!
She will be glad to help you find your way in the district and answers your questions about the city if you have any.
Her place is nice and cosy, you really feel like home.
Also, at night it's not noisy so you can sleep like a baby (the bed is so nice!).
We went there twice and tried both rooms (the white and the blue).
The white one is bigger but they are both very good.

Greetings, My name is Annamaria and, other then managing my Bed and Breakfast, I am an artist; designing and making my own jewelry using silver, shells and mother of pearl. I also help my brother manage our own shop where we sell my brother's wood sculptures and my jewelry.
I love nature and something we call here in Italy "Decrescita Felice" which can be translated as sustainable growth. I try to live my life in a simpler way because I think that this helps resolve the problems of the earth.
For this reason, I choose to use the bicycle as my means of transportation and well as for fun and physical activity.
