You would be sharing the apartment with my roommate a really nice, outgoing and laid-back girl in her early 20s. Full use of the bathroom, kitchen, living room, and storage area. The apartment is in SoHo, which is prime shopping and dining territory. The neighborhood is very safe and vivid - there are lots of great bars and hip restaurants in the area. Great location in Manhattan!
In the room there is a super comfortable queen size bed, a 46''Smart TV (with Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc), side table , AC, a large mirror and medium-size closet space. You would have clean sheets, towels, etc.
Subway: A/C/E to to Spring Street (2 blocks away)
1/2/3 to Houston and Canal Streets; R/W to Prince Street; N/R/Q/W to Canal Street, 6 to Canal and Spring Streets; J/M/Z to Canal Street.
I had a great stay and would recommend this apartment. The location in SoHo was great as it was a very close walk to Broadway and the Subway. The room was clean and inviting on arrival with fresh towels and toiletries. Dante was a great host, who replied to emails instantaneously and was welcoming. His roommate was also very friendly, and not often home so the apartment was quiet. In addition, the kitchen and bathroom are fully equipped and the wifi connection was perfect. Overall I was very pleased with my stay.
Great location to eat, drink, shop and then eat some more...Took us a few days but we managed to explore most of the streets. You would need 6 months to try every great eatery. Dantes room was great. Nice big bed and room for me and my partner to put all our stuff. Bathroom was small but didn't bother us. Was surprised that there wasn't actually a 'living space' besides a small kitchen but again, didn't worry us and I guess that's New York. Dante was very helpful with any questions and offering suggestions and his housemate was also helpful, although over 5 days we saw her maybe 3 times.
Only negative was a squeaky bed base which was a bit annoying when moving around, but that's probably a bit picky.
Dante was a really nice host!
We met before, because I would like to see the room and the flat! Everything was easy going also the pass of the keys (the door in the front is a bit tricky but you get it after few days ;) ). Everything was well organized and Dante answered back in a few hours if I had any questions!
The room is like on the photos of his page!
For two it could get a bit narrow in the room (exspeacially if you have a lot of things with you) and you shouldn't be a cleaning maniac.
The bathroom was also ok and you are allowed to use the kitchen and the fridge which was very useful!
The area of dantes flat is perect! It's in the heart of Soho and you reach the Metro very easy in a few walking minutes. We also enjoed all the Restaurant and Bars in the surrounding area.
The flat is on the 6th floor so we stayed in shape :P
All in all it was a nice place to stay and we felt very comfortable!
Nice&cozy sums up Dante's room in Soho. It's a lovely little crash pad in the middle of a fantastic NYC neighbourhood. The kitchen may be tiny, the bathroom a squeeze. But who cares? You're in New York!
Dante was also a gracious host, texting us from afar to help us navigate the city. If you're on a shoestring budget, as we were, I suggest the H&H Kim corner store up the street that has all you'll need for an affordable breakfast and lunch.
If you're looking for a beer break, try Snack right across the street from Dante's flat where you can perch yourself with the newspaper in their window seat and watch the human traffic sail by. In fact, I recommend watching the old nun who dutifully perches on her windowsill each afternoon, watching all the comings and goings below.
A few blocks north of Dante's place you'll find Washington Square park. Plan on spending a few hours watching locals hang, play, make music and dance.
Dante's apartment is a couple blocks away from Spring Street metro station which will get you anywhere you need to go. It is totally worth buying a metro pass for the week ($30 approx.) and undergrounding it to all of your major destinations: uptown, downtown, Brooklyn etc.
I'll sure be knocking on Dante's door the next time I'm in NYC. I hope you do too.
Fantastic location. Did not have the pleasure of meeting Dante however he was very accommodating and responsive to our needs. A little confusion with his roommate on the final night of our stay but this was rectified promptly. I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to experience life as a New Yorker.
