Welcome to your Williams Hideout!

Located just one block east of the hot and rapidly growing Williams neighborhood, this beautiful, fully equipped, private two-bedroom apartment is a perfect home away from home.

The Space

The 800 sq. ft. space is the entire second story of our sweet home, and has its own entrance and elevated deck looking out over the treetops and garden of our yard toward bustling Williams St. With lofted ceilings, large windows and skylights, it is always light-filled and airy. The living room is centered around a lovely gas fireplace, so it is very cozy and warm.

We have put a lot of love into the space, with carefully curated vintage and modern furniture, artwork, books and other treats for you to discover. Play records or plug your music into our vintage record console. Stream movies or watch youtube videos on the smart tv. Curl up by the fire with a good book and a glass of wine. When the weather is fine, have a picnic in our backyard garden. Oh, and maybe go out and see Portland!

Biking is one of the best ways to explore this beautiful city, and we have a bike rental shop very close to the house. We are also walking distance to both the Mississippi and Alberta Arts districts, where you will find amazing restaurants, bars, venues, shops and breweries. We are also very close to several bus lines, the Max train, and centrally located so that within 10 minutes’ drive you can be downtown or exploring most of the other fun neighborhoods around town.

Portland is a food lovers dream, and we are one block from some of the best restaurants, breweries, and coffee in town, and within a short walk of dozens of worthy destinations. However, the kitchen is fully stocked should you decide to explore the New Seasons three blocks south, Portland’s favorite local grocery store.

Interaction with Guests

We are here if you need anything at all, but in general we work to respect our guests' privacy. We will not enter the space during your stay unless you invite us up.

The Neighborhood

We are in the heart of the Boise/Elliot neighborhood, and we truly love where we live. There is a strong sense of community here, and a great collection of resources a stone's throw from the house- coffee shops, breweries, restaurants, and a lovely new grocery store.
Further afield, but easily walkable, are the Mississippi and Alberta Arts districts, a farmer's market, and lots of great parks and other spots to explore.

Getting around

We are walking distance to both the Mississippi and Alberta Arts districts, where you will find amazing restaurants, bars, venues, shops and breweries.
We are also very close to several bus lines, the Max train(yellow line), and centrally located so that within 10 minutes’ drive you can be downtown or exploring most of the other fun neighborhoods around town.

  • Wow, this place is AMAZING. It's gorgeous, comfortable, and huge -- one of the best places I've ever stayed, and just a few minutes walk from cafes, bars, restaurants, etc. I stayed with a group of four (two couples) and both bedrooms were comfortable and gorgeous; I wish I had Ryan and Megan's interior decorating skills for my own place.

  • We had a great stay with Ryan and Meagan. The apartment was very comfortable and spacious, with everything we needed and also decorated in the vintage style we enjoy in our own home! The area was nice - with lots of local facilities and very easy to access the city centre. It gave us a real sense of how people live in Portland. Ryan was most helpful and accomodating - definitely recommended!

  • Ryan and Meagan's place was excellent. Very spacious, comfortable and had everything you could have wanted. A great, quiet neighborhood too. Check in and out was very smooth - they were perfect hosts.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Ryan & Meagan's apt! The apt was exactly as described in the listing. It was so nice, we wanted to move in! There were 4 adults staying there and there was plenty of space. Ryan was quick to respond to all inquiries and very friendly. The neighborhood was great! You could walk to so many great restaurants, shops and bars. I had never been to this neighborhood in Portland but fell in love with it! We had a great weekend and can't wait to go back! We would definitely stay here again!

  • Super cute apartment in portland! Was very comfortable for two couples to share. Very easy to get around the area that is packed with plenty of restaurants and greater portland with or without a car ( the place is very near a good bus line). We loved all the cute details in the apartment like the vintage furniture and wood trim. Would definitely stay again!

  • Perfect. Amazing. Comfy. Cozy. Adorable...

This was our (my husband and I) first experience with airbnb and vacation rentals in general and if this is what's it's like.. why ever stay at a hotel ever again? At least in Portland. We did the 5-Star in downtown and this is way better! The place is just as described / photographed on the site and Ryan is super communicative as well as nice and accommodating (and Meagan, too!).

We are in love with this city and in love with this hideout and its location. Restaurants, bars, coffee shops are within walking distance. And if you hop on a bike even the far to reach (on foot) places are really close.

Did I mention we can't wait to go back??

  • The apartment and neighborhood were great. Ryan was so accommodating and gave us an awesome recommendation for a nearby hike. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

  • Ryan and Meagan's home was beautiful decorated and extremely spacious. We were only there briefly so we didn't get to take full advantage of all the little details, but we loved throwing on a record on the gorgeous console in the living room. The king bed in the master was extremely comfy and the bathroom had all the modern amenities and great products you would want. I have to also add how nice the neighbors are. When we arrived, the back neighbors invited us to join them for a barbecue they were hosting - a kind of hospitality I'm not used to in NYC. Overall a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend to anyone!

About
My wife and I have lived in this house for eight years, and we have watched Williams St. and the neighborhood go through big changes in that time. We are proud of our house and our neighborhood and want to share them with others. We live our lives in a small radius, and have close personal relationships with many people who live and work in the area. Experience the small town feel of our big city! Ryan is an independent woodworker and luthier, and Meagan is a clothing and interior designer and a bookeeper. Come stay with us!
