This was a delightful place to stay in Lancaster! I loved all the care and attention our hosts had taken to create a warm, inviting, relaxed ambiance. Such a fun, textured, eclectic style! The rooms were as advertised, even better than I'd hoped. They left us bread, milk, half and half and some yummy chocolates. We were here for a graduation at F&M and the family (my husband, two grown daughters, Aunt and brother) gathered in the living room and kitchen. We didn't all sleep there but it was a central place to congregate. Good restaurants within walking distance. I wish I had discovered this place four years ago when my daughter was a Freshman!
Our host met us at the door and escorted us up to the apartment where he gave us a brief tour and chatted with us for a few moments. The apartment really is very charming with eclectic furnishings and lots of fun little details. There were interesting items in every room. They supplied all the basic amenities and more-great assortment of CD's and movies, basic breakfast items, toiletries, etc. Another plus was the shared porch that Dennis and Alicia were kind enough to allow us to use which we did on two occasions The location was absolutely perfect to take in all the Art Walk activities. We parked our car on Friday and didn't move it until we were ready to leave on Sunday. It was so nice to have such a homey and comfy place to come back to after a long but fun day. I must also say that the price was very reasonable when you consider the location and all the amenities that were included. This was our first experience using airbnb and we will certainly use it again. We also highly recommend "Charming Downtown Guesthouse" for anyone wishing to stay in downtown Lancaster. Thank you, Dennis and Alicia, for providing such a wonderful place for us to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary.
We were very well greeted by Alicia and Dennis in this great Lancaster appartment. We were centrally located in Lancaster and visited the area by car the following day. This was our first Airbnb experience and we will certainly try it again in our future trips. Thanks again Alicia for a great experience.
Dennis & Alicia had a beautiful, conveniently located apartment. My boyfriend and I stayed while we performed at the Launch Music Conference and the apartment was the perfect quiet hideaway after the music was over. It felt like a home away from home and it was so close to everything downtown. I will definitely be back!
Alicia was very sweet and helpful and everything was better than described. We were in town for a convention/girls weekend. Lancaster is a great little city and the location is perfect for walking to restaurants, cafés, and little shops. Hopefully we'll be reserving for next year as well, probably with a little less convention and a little more girl time.
We absolutely LOVED our stay at the Charming Downtown guesthouse! Dennis and Alicia were both wonderful and made us feel so welcome and comfortable. They truly went above and beyond what we expected as guests. . .they made us feel like friends who were coming for a visit- leaving us with delicious food in the fridge and chocolate treats! So gracious. The space was lovely and quirky (jn a great way) and was super clean , comfy and cozy. We couldn't have asked for more and highly recommend this property. Just perfect!
Dennis and Alicia are wonderful, and this apartment is amazing. it is decorated in the most interesting way with antique/vintage furniture and art. Every detail in every room is considered, which made for an interesting and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend this apartment to anyone who is staying in the area.
