The apartment located in the Art District 22 in GuoMao (CBD area). The location is more than perfect! Downstairs is supermarket Carrefour. The area is famous for its art galleries, cafes, boutiques and restaurants. To take the subway, you just have to walk 10 min to Guomao (line 1), which is also a transit station for line 10. The apartment is conveniently close to the local expat district of Sanlitun where there are a number of nice restaurants and bars and night clubs. Its also only about 5KM way to the Forbidden City and the Wangfujing night markets.
The apartment is also available for long-term rent. Please let me know if you have any questions.
The appartement is really nice in a great artistic district.
Wifi was provided and a little problem with the hot water was solved very quickly.
Nice host great appartement. I defenitly recommand it.
Selina and her sister were wonderful hosts. Selina sent us information on how to get to the apartment, the address in Chinese, and how much a taxi should cost. Her sister was able to communicate with us easily with (website hidden) translate. She helped us to resolve internet connectivity issues as soon as we brought it up.
The apartment has fantastic heating, which is important during the winter.
There are restaurants near the apartment as well as stores where you can buy food and drinks.
The apartment is well communicated: it's 10-15 min walk to Guomao on L1 or Shuanjing on L10.
All in all I'd recommend Selina and her apartment to anyone wanting to visit Beijing!
The apartment is spacious with a nice view on the business district. Helpful staff.
Old furnitures and the apartment is not very well equipped if you intend to cook. We were not able to use the air-conditioner because of the bad smell.
The metro is 15-20min walking.
In conclusion, rather positive experience.
This apartment is well located in my view though there could be improvements in terms of providing cutlery (not much was supplied) and providing wifi internet access. There is also a stunning view of the Beijing skyline from the window.
Apartment is located in a modern block with lots of good restaurants and cafe's downstairs (some with free wifi). The subway wasnt walking distance, we relied on cabs mainly as its pretty easy to hail cabs on the street.
We picked up the keys from an agent within the building who handles a few of the serviced apartments, unfortunately she spoke zero English.
Nice appartement, location is good but not near any specific tourist attraction. Confortable and not noisy. Nice!
I haven't seen Selina from the whole week :/
Selina is a great host and the space we stayed at is within a new art district. The room was really clean and spacious and the location was really central to most places in Beijing. I would definitely stay there again the next time I'm in Beijing.
Selina went out of her way to help us after getting lost on the way to her flat and was very warm and welcoming throughout our stay.
The apartment was clean and warm with great views out the massive window.
The place is somewhat close to Guomao, about 15min fast walk, but not through a very nice area. The complex itself is nice, with several restaurants and cafes, and a lot of art galleries and a museum next door. A large shopping mall (Viva) and a Carefour are also near. It is very easy to catch a cab from here, but traffic can be horrendous.
Selina's place is in a "serviced apartment" complex, it is quite bright and spacious, and looks fairly new. Some minor issues are that the kitchen stuff is very minimal (one crooked pot, no real cups, no dishwashing liquid or sponge, no silverware...); and that the bathroom is not very well ventilated. Overall, though, it's a fairly good deal for the price.
The apartment is a great space with a lot of potential. It feels very roomy, is well laid out, has high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows. The bathroom is really large as well, though some of the tiles are buckling away from the wall (which appears to be a construction issue). On the downside, it took several hours for Selina and various maintenance workers to get the hot water working upon our arrival. Also, the shower doesn't drain properly, so the entire bathroom floods, which means the bathroom floor was soaking wet for the duration of our stay. The internet was inconsistent and connection would be down for hours at a time. Finally, the location was not ideal for us, as it was quite a walk to the subway and varied dining options. If these issues aren't a big deal for you, this apartment would probably work for you, as the space was very lofty and cool and had great views.
A light and bright studio apartment with a great view to the business district. Some of the information, though, is a bit misleading. The Pingod area might be lively in a few years' time, but currently it is only partially occupied and very quiet in the evening as well as during the day. The metro stations are quite a walk away (Guomao almost 20 minutes, Shuangjing around 15), Carrafours is not 'downstairs' but a walk of 10 minutes or more. Apart from basic furniture (including the large bed and a large TV) and a washing machine, there was NO equipment at all in the apartment except for an electric kettle and four glasses - no eating or cooking utensils, no cleaning equipment (we were there for two weeks), no spare towels or bedclothes - let alone an iron or hairdryer. Having rented apartments in many countries for short periods, this came as a bit of a shock. If you are thinking of renting the apartment, it would be a good idea to check on whether the owners have equipped the apartment to the level you're expecting.
