Although we were expecting a freestanding unit directly on the beach we were pleased with the setting and unit amenties. Its close proximity to beaches and Northcoast attractions was a plus. The kids loved the jacuzzi and the sound of the waves was amazing. Parking was a challeng…
The Jacuzzi is an optional extra. It is in the listing, but Tash is very inviting about using the jacuzzi, however she didn't warn me that she would charge me to use it, which isn't wrong but I feel it was very deceitful. She also tried to settle with me outside of airbnb, direct…
Response from Tasha:
Gosh, what a disappointing inaccurate review. In response to Kim's review I would like to qualify that I communicated regularly with Keith, Kim's partner. I informed him that there is a daily levy to use the jacuzzi during their stay and would they like to use it as I would need to know ahead of time to get it ready for them. I am not inviting about using the jacuzzi as Kim claims, as it is easier for me not to have guests use it but I do know that when it was getting fixed all guests asked to use it as it is a feature and a fun thing to be able to enjoy while you are here. Kim's partner said to me they would be using it during their stay and they did use it. In addition to this, it is stated in 5 different places on the listing, including on the pictures of the jacuzzi that there is a charge. In the house rules the levy and charge is again stated (Airbnb requires Kim to agree to the house rules prior to booking.) It was reported that Kim used the jacuzzi on 3 days and when I asked how many days it was used during her stay she said only 2, which was not the truth, regardless I only charged her for 2 days. Everything had gone perfectly until the point of requesting the monies from Kim and the items that she had taken from the unit that did not belong to her. When I asked her for the monies for the two days she said she felt cheated. This was very suprising to me due to the fact that I had placed a complimentary bottle of bubbly in the fridge for her with a lovely card. Also, I have a "no events" house rule which I bent and made an exception for Kim to have 20 guests over at the unit on the Saturday and due to the fact that they were hungover after the party, according to her partner, I allowed for a later check out time. The furniture was rearranged, rose petals and gold glitter littered the unit and linens were stained with blue ink. Salt and pepper grinders as well as an imported basket was taken from the unit and not returned nor refunded for, all of which I chose to say nothing about until the need to respond to this review came about. I thought these points relative to raise to give clarity to others who may read this review so as to obtain a well rounded judgement of the situation in it'd entirety. I am new to Airbnb and Kim is the first Airbnb guest that has booked since the jacuzzi has been up and running. I do know that when an Airbnb guest books the accommodation, those monies are to go through the Airbnb porthole which is exactly what happened. I didn't know that the charge for the jacuzzi was also to go through Airbnb, whichever way it makes no difference to me it's just I didn't know extra fees were to be requested in this manner as my other guests from other booking sites pay EFT or cash for the jacuzzi so I simply requested payment from Kim for the jacuzzi by messaging her on Airbnb asking her for payment, not knowing there is a button on Airbnb to request monies from a guest, simple innocent mistake that was blown out off proportion. Once I discovered the correct way of requesting extra charges, I used this way of requesting monies from Kim. Now I know thankfully :) I assure you I pride myself on integrity and honesty so the implications by Kim, that what transpired was done with anything less than those characteristics is grossly inaccurate, accusatory and evidently a projection. Having said all this I would like to say that this situation with Kim has really upset me as I truly value my guests and I happily go out of my way to accommodate my guests best as possible and my guests have been very happy. To avoid the possibility of this occurring in the future I have made some changes and have happily removed the levy for the jacuzzi. It is more important to me as your host that you feel at home & comfortable & not have to worry about something as small and petty as this. This way no monies need to be requested and no misunderstanding is possible :) :) My experience with all my guests prior to this has been rewarding, positive and an absolute pleasure. I love having guests come stay and want nothing more than a pleasant relaxed atmosphere for my guests. To any and all guests booking in the future, I look forward to proving this review completely and utterly wrong and I so look forward to having you make my house your home. ♡
