The Space

From the world catlas, which shows my favorite cats I've encountered throughout the world, to my fun bike collection and collection of sewing stuff and costumes, I think you will get a kick out of the weird things located in my Atlanta home. It's pretty cozy, and I've tried pretty hard to make it as comfortable as possible. Drink wine. Eat cheese. Sit in the bath tub.

Guest Access

Guests will have their own private bathroom and bedroom! It's a pretty quiet spot. You'll also have full access to any of the stuff in the kitchen and living room space.

Interaction with Guests

I can be a fly on the wall or help you plan out your weekend here in Atlanta. I'll go with the flow.

The Neighborhood

My neighborhood is pretty quiet and is just a quick drive from any of Atlanta's neighborhoods. It's a great spot for anyone looking for a relaxing place to rest your head and have a few laughs with some locals.

Getting around

There's a bus stop right in front of here. You can also park right in front of my place

From the airport, you'd have to take a train to a bus, but it's pretty simple and straightforward.

Other Things to Note

I do have two little kittens that I just rescued. They're brother and sister and are very adorable.

  • Amanda is a great person and very helpful, I loved my stay at her home. My journey was hectic and I wasn't sure when I can move in or out. Generously she offered that I can come any time earlier by couple of days or stay extra couple of days and just blocked these days for me just in case. She made extra effort so I would be able to check in her place anytime through the day. She also kept tracking with me before I come to give me guides for my travel and details about transportation in Atlanta. I'm not a pet person but I fall in love with her 2 kitties, they are adorable and fun yet very well be heaved.

  • Amanda is the sweetest! Felt right at home! Her friend was also visiting and it was like a slumber party in good ways :)

  • I loved staying at Amanda's place! Although she wasn't there, she was 100% available via text/email and was extremely sweet and informative. Huge help for me being that I had never been to Atlanta before. House with stocked with goodies and two awesome cats. My only regret is that I didn't get to meet Amanda because she seems like great person. Would stay again anytime :)

  • We had an amazing time staying at Amanda's place. She is an incredible host making us feel right at home immediately! Her accommodations were definitely cozy, and it was so nice to have our own bathroom with shower. She was also very courteous when she had to get up before us to go to work...we didn't even hear her get ready or leave! It was a blast getting to know her, hearing her opinions on different areas in Atlanta, and playing with her adorable kittens. We would definitely stay with her again!

  • Amanda was a great host--before and during trip with any questions, and helped me navigate the public transport MARTA system upon my arrival via text advice. Her apartment was the perfect location I need in relation to airport, Emory, and busline. Room and bathroom were clean, iron and hair dryer provided (and even toothpaste when I discovered I left home without a tube...who does that?!). Amanda was very chill, an amenable host, and her kitchen table was the perfect work space at night to tend emails and work on a project. Thanks again!

  • The apartment was very good for my overnight stay in Atlanta. It was in a nice neighborhood, very convenient to my week-end obligations in Atlanta.

  • I stayed for 2 nights with Amanda. From the start she made a lot of effort making sure I knew how to get to her place and also feel welcome once I arrived with.

Her house is close to nice areas and things to do which can be reached by bus or a short taxi ride. She once again helped me with all these giving me her phone to use for the taxi app and making sure I dont get lost.

I went with her and her friends to the baseball game which made my experience all the better! All friendly and easy going people.

I would def use airbnb again after this experience☺

  • My 20 yr. old daughter and I had arranged to stay with Amanda for my son's graduation. The week before check in I tried to contact Amanda, as suggested by airbnb, by phone, email and IM and no response. After notifying airbnb I was finally contacted by Amanda with a myriad of reasons of why she did not follow up with me. I thought all was resolved. Amanda had asked me what we liked for breakfast and I had suggested a piece of fruit, toast and coffee. I also informed her that my daughter and I were vegetarian. The first morning we received fruit, an egg, BACON and coffee! We asked if there was toast but she said she had not had time to go get any. The next morning she promised french toast! In the morning I let her know that I would only have a piece of toast because my daughter was not with me. My daughter left the night before because she was having trouble sleeping while Amanda had a party at the apt. that lasted until midnight. My daughter found alternate accommodation because she did not feel comfortable at Amanda's. Amanda said that all she could offer me was a tortilla! She did not provide any alternatives so I advised her I would take care of my own breakfast and go out instead. After breakfast I went back to the apt. to speak to Amanda about the disturbance of the party and other issues but she was not around. I emailed her to try and resolve the problem. Amanda admitted that she had dropped the ball and that all would be good from here on in. The next day I did get toast that was cooked in the oven and set off the smoke alarms from being burnt. The burnt toast was then served to me with nothing offered to put on it! From then on I took care of going out for breakfast. She also had her out of town boyfriend stay with her while we were there. The toilet was broken, the bathroom filthy (I took pictures but unfortunately cannot post) The trash was full in our bathroom when we arrived and there was a blood stain on the comforter on our bed! It was close to all that I needed to do. The cats were sweet!

    Response from Amanda:

Yikes! That's quite the eyeful. Sorry to hear that you and Shelby didn't feel 100% welcome in my apartment.

The party: Airbnb is about building community and sharing a space. That's why I was so excited you joined the three of us for dinner + wine on Saturday evening. I was also happy to meet your three other sons and parents, when they dropped by the apartment that evening.

The cleanliness: This is the first that I am hearing of this concern. I am always eager to clean up at anything I may have missed at any point of a guests stay!

The food: During your stay, there were mangoes, bananas, avocados, eggs, apples, pears, spinach, garlic and other breakfast snacks available. Vegetarian options are always around, since I love a good smoothie.

Next time, please let me know during your stay if you feel uncomfortable with anything at all, and I will be able to more quickly and proactively make changes to ensure that you and Shelby have full bellies and happy hearts.

  • Amanda was an easy going host and was not around much while I was staying there. The place was not quite as clean as I expected upon arrival, but the room I was staying in had been fairly well cleaned. Amanda was extremely generous in letting me use the kitchen and even do a quick load of laundry. Her cats were a delight!
