Interaction with Guests
We are a hip international married couple, Eric from New York, Surya from Indonesia, and we are friendly and used to hosting international guests. However, we want our guest to be independent and to respect our privacy too, as we will theirs.
Echo Park is one of the most interesting, historical, and community-oriented neighborhoods in LA. Formerly home to artists, musicians, politicos, & Latinos, the "hood" is quickly gentrifying, spawning music clubs, restaurants, cafes, hip shopping stores, etc. etc.
We live on a steep hill (hence the great views), but you NEED a car.
Other Things to Note
2 day minimum, please.
We have our 8 year old Indonesian nephew, Exsel, currently living with us, and we have a young, friendly dog named Cassius, just in case there are any dog, or child-adverse guests.
We want our guest to be quiet, independent, clean/neat, trustworthy, mature, & sympatico. Non-smoker preferred (no smoking in house) & no pets. Long term, we are looking more for a "boarder/guest" than a "roommate". No overnight guests.
You can have a portion of our frig and pantry. Towels & sheets provided.
Don't worry, we're welcoming and friendly.
Staying at this place was the most amazing adventure and the best choice ever. Eric and Surya are wonderful, friendly and very generous hosts. This was a time to remember and you can't possible find a better place for your LA trip. Highly recommended for highly creative and spiritual individuals. LOVE
Eric and Surya were wonderful hosts. They were welcoming, hospitable, and friendly, and they never overdid it to the point of intrusiveness. They have a lovely home, with really neat decor and a fantastic back patio. I probably spent more time out there, looking out over LA, than I did in my actual room.
Eric & Surya were great hosts! We were on different schedules so didn't see much of each other, but the stay was comfortable and great.
I feel really lucky to have been able to stay with Eric, Surya, Exsel and Cassius. They were warm and hospitable, and their apartment is in a great location in Echo Park. The views are stunning! My room was ample, with a very comfortable bed. Eric is one-of-a-kind, a fascinating character, and a fantastic conversationalist and storyteller. My only regret is that I was so busy catching up with old friends in LA, that I didn't get a chance to hang out with my hosts as much as I would've wanted, and maybe even experience some of Surya's cooking, which smelled delicious. Looking forward to keeping in touch, seeing them again soon, and having a proper conversation with Exsel!
Eric was a great host and very easy to be around. My room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the house situated in a part of the neighborhood that felt safe and neighborly. A solid AirB&B deal all around.
Upon my arrival, Eric provide a to-the-point overview of the house and then gave me the space to do my own thing. I also greatly appreciate him accommodating me as a last minute guest.
The highlight of my stay was meeting Eric's fantastic, playful, and cuddly dog. My only regret is not getting to spend more time with this lovable creature.
Eric & Surya's place turned out perfect for me location wise. Echo Park is great area of LA and the room and house was excellent. I unfortunately did not have much time to visit with Eric & Surya as I was out the door early every morning and back late but they were very accommodating of my schedule. Their dog Cassie was great fun. Clean room, great views, great location, wonderful people.
