Lovely place to stay in Bali. Good location if you want to escape city and resorts - nice spots around to eat and relax. Although, we didn't fully enjoy our stay because of the sanitary in this place. We used to see rat running around the kitchen area and in our shower. Cockroaches jumping on you while you sit in the terrace or during the midnight, while you sleep. Also, I was bitten by fleas, which were in our room. This place lacks cleanliness and hygiene. Nevertheless, we loved the pool, going around with the scooter and the manager is very lovely guy - super helpful!
Good thing, that I would like to point, is that we contacted Morgan after a few nights staying in Bungalow saying that we have bugs, cockroaches in our rooms, and rat in a shower... She reacted immediately and sorted out things next day. Although, we still had some problems sleeping with cockroaches, she offered a different room in the main villa, which was much much better. Really appreciate that!
We had a great time at the Surya Abadi. The room was really big and our son enjoyed to walk on the huge terrace.
Even we did not meet Morgan, we could reach her pretty easy via air bnb chat. The local knowledge of her was great.
But unfortunaly sometimes it was quite hard to communicate with the staff because of language problems.
As others mentioned before the ricefields are pretty much gone but the place still has it's charm. It would be better to change the name of the accommodation otherwise it may dissapoint people.
We did enjoy the pool, but the smell of the garbage next to the property was very disgusting. We hope this will change some day...
This place is recommended for people who don't mind to drive a scooter do get around.
Nevertheless we enjoyed our stay at Morgans place.
The villa overall is very beautiful and the staff works hard to keep the grounds clean of debris. There's and air conditioner which is awesome, but the bathroom is entirely detached from the room. It's also worth noting that the rice paddy view is now a road being developed for a new living structure..No tv in the rooms and the common area wasn't so common amongst other guests so it could get pretty boring during the day at times if you were not out and about visiting the countryside. There is zero noise insulation so you can hear everything going on outside. There's a single sheet on the bed and nothing else...Not a lot of table top space for things in the room either. The breakfast was very simple, but sort of a turn off to see rats running around the kitchen...The pool is lovely and refreshing though. Not a single taxi I got into knew where this place was and it often took me transferring from one taxi to another and then to another to finally make it back.. All my host would say about this is that taxis are terrible in Bali... Gee thanks, hadn't noticed :/ That's a lot of cash to shell out and made the idea of leaving the villa that much more difficult. Will probably skip Canggu as a whole if I return to Bali and head straight for Ubud!
I didn't meet Morgan but the staff was very nice and helpful!
Unfortinetly the view is not like on the photos...
But it was quiet and its perfect to relax.
Villa Surya Abadi is far away from the tourist area and other people couldn't find this place!
But my driver knew it because his office is close to Villa Surya Abadi ((website hidden) )
If I was in my room, I could hear every word what people said while they sit downstairs.
But at all it was a good stay at Villa Surya Abadi!
This was my first bnb experience in Bali. Couldn't be any more better! I only spent one night here then moved to Morgan's another villa. I miss everything here, the garden, the view, the staff and etc. I really enjoyed drinking coconut water on the bamboo terrace when it was a perfect time to see the sunset. Peaceful and unforgettable. One night was way too short. I'd love to come back again!!
We had the most beautiful stay here.
The room was perfect, and lovely pool. You need to hire either a driver or a motorbike to get around which we did and cost us only $4 a day which we found very good.
We left our camera bag over there by accident and the place has kindly sent it back to us!
Thanks for the amazing stay
We really loved the Bungalow and the Villa, the staff is very friendly and it was the perfect spot to relax and chill at the pool. Hope to be back at some point in the future :)
We really enjoy a lot these days with morgan. The staf is very nice, always trying to help the guests. I recomend this beautiful place to everybody.
To be honest, I was not too happy with this place. It felt like I intruded the space of the people that were working there. The television was on the entire day.
It is not that you really have a view on the ricefield, the place feels pretty much built in and there is a lot of construction going on at a nearby field that caused a lot of noise when I was staying there. I can not predict how long this will continue to be like this.
From my point of view, the place is pretty far from the beaches (a 15 to 20 minute ride on the scooter). There are no restaurants near by.
The staff was friendly but did not go all the way to make it a great stay. The breakfast was not included in the price and was not special at all.
My room was nice, but the entrance was low and I bumped my head a couple of times. Overall I would recommend to look a bit further to find a nicer place, closer to the beaches and with a more hospitable staff.
