***Just became available for Christmas!!***
Our spacious and fun vacation home is the perfect Santa Fe get away for families and groups! Enjoy a large kitchen, ping pong table and balconies on all side with amazing views!
Our 3,300 sq. ft. vacation home is located on the west side of beautiful Santa Fe, with easy access to freeways. A very convenient location makes it a short drive to the historic downtown Plaza area, famous Canyon Rd, the Santa Fe Opera, shopping, movie theaters, rock climbing, mountain biking and fantastic hiking in the beautiful Sangre de Cristo mountains. The house is situated on 5 acres of beautiful high desert landscape including lots of pinon and juniper trees. The home was custom built in 1980 by my family and recently renovated. The home features three large bedrooms with a nursery area (crib, swing and nursing area) attached to the master. A fully stocked kitchen with double oven, dishwasher, microwave, adjacent to a dining area with a large table (seating up to nine) and large picture window facing the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, makes it perfect for enjoying meals with family and friends. Between three large bedrooms and a finished basement that serves as a fourth bedroom, the house will accommodate between 8-14 people on 3 queen size beds, 1 full, bunk bed (2 twins), full size futon, and crib. In the basement, relax in front of the kiva fireplace, or enjoy a game of ping pong. The first and second floors boast 3 balconies that provide a beautiful view of the mountains on one side and breathtaking sunsets on the other. After a long day of shopping or hiking, enjoy conversation lounging on the large deck just outside the living room or gaze up at the stars while sitting in your own private hot tub. Want to catch your favorite TV show, watch a movie, or surf the web? No problem, we have three TV’s, DVD players, a VHS player, lots of movies and free WiFi internet access. Full size washer and dryer if you need them. This is the perfect home for a family or larger groups. Tell us what you need and we will do our best to accommodate you! We are very knowledgeable about Santa Fe and local attractions!
Guests have access to an indoor jacuzzi tub, fully stocked kitchen, ping pong table, Satellite TV and WiFi.

We stayed four nights over the Christmas holiday and really enjoyed the house. The host even put up a Christmas tree! The kitchen is well stocked to make our holiday meal and even had a nice collection of spices. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of linens/towels. I would only advise that the stairs to the large bedroom upstairs which has 2 of the queen beds and shared bathroom are steep and have short steps (I wear a ladies size 8 shoe and the steps were smaller than my foot) which prevented my sister who has neuropathy (numbness in feet) to stay in the large upstairs room with her sons. We just changed the sleeping assignments and I bunked with my nephews in the double shared queen room and gave my sister and her husband the downstairs bedroom with the Kiva fireplace (cannot use the Kiva fireplace in the bedroom nor the Kiva Fireplace in basement). It would have been nice to know this in advance but besides that we really enjoyed the house and would stay there again! It is on a beautiful serene quiet property about 10 minutes from the historic downtown area but only 5-7 minutes to Cerrillos Road where there are plenty of shops/grocery stores/restaurants. The house has wonderful stained glass windows, nice balconies, and a pretty back deck area where the hot tub is located. They have a good selection of movies to watch, satellite TV, and wifi which all worked with no problems. The living room fireplace was wonderful and cozy! It is a very comfortable house and I would highly recommend it. The 4 person hot tub was great after a day of skiing and we used it several times. The ping pong table was a lot of fun! Luckily, I brought my own ping pong balls and left them at the house for the next guests since the only there was smashed so you may want to bring your own. Overall, this is a very very comfortable house with lots of space! Thanks to the hosts for a wonderful stay!
The house is conveniently away from any major roads, yet within 10 or so minutes of downtown Santa Fe. Since the house was not booked the day after we were leaving, the hosts allowed us to check out later than we originally agreed to. The communication was always efficient and precise. We enjoyed our stay very much.
Jason and Christal were quick to respond to questions in advance of my family's stay. The house was as described in both amenities and location. It was a great fit for our seven adults and one child. We really enjoyed that it was just far enough outside of downtown Santa Fe for privacy but close enough for quick trips. Our family also loved the ping pong table, the piano, and the grill.
I never met Jason and Christal during my stay--he was out of state at a workshop. What a pity! From our emails to and fro, I sensed that this was a host I'd like to meet. He was always thoughtful and thinking ahead about my needs, making stuff comfortable for me and my two senior, 70+, friends. The house worked beautifully, and I now wonder why I didn't invite another five or so friends of mine along----Jason's house easily (and well) accommodates more than my party of three---sultans us three there.
One glitch: the WIFI was inoperable during my stay (tech junk always happens), but Jason aimed to work on it, and gracefully apologized for its absence, and that's a plus in his court.
I live in Colorado, my two East Coast friends---let me say that they are accommodation-demanding when they travel---were not nit-picky as they East Coast often are. They applauded my choice---a high-five for both me and Jason...'Nough said....Richard (Kelly)
PS. A map of the local area will be helpful.
It was a good experience to stay in this place. Very nice location and very spacious place. The hot tub was wonderful also especially after a long day touring Santa Fe.
Great house, close to town. Hot tub was really nice and we had a great time with the Ping pong table! We had a problem with the oven and Jason was over a few hours later.
As the others have already said, this is a great rental in a beautiful part of Santa Fe! To add, the hosts are extremely responsive and truly strive to give you a great experience with your stay.
For us, this stay in Santa Fe was a family getaway for 4, for 3 nights and was MORE than plenty of room. In fact, you could probably fit 1-2 families with comfort. It was my folks first time to use AIRBNB and they LOVED it.
PROs: Full kitchen (which was nice for us since 3 of 4 of us are vegetarians and enabled us to have more control over our food vs eating out every night in Santa Fe); 10-15 min from Santa Fe center, but far out enough where you feel the beauty and tranquility that New Mexico has to offer. Balconies are nearly every side of the house, which means great views of the sunrise and sunset every day. Wifi for those that need it. I didn't think having TV with cable would matter (considering where you are), but it was definitely a nice perk. And again, PLENTY of space so you don't feel like you're stepping on each others toes. Also, no need to bring towels - they have a GENEROUS amount. Also they have a washer/dryer for any cleaning needs (which could come in useful for summer outdoor adventures or winter skiing trips).
CONs: wifi is a bit spotty. and water pressure in the showers is low (but they are on a private well, so this makes more sense). In any case, these two things are minor at best and if these are deal-breakers for you, you probably should go stay in the Plaza.
Conclusion: My family will no doubt be talking about this vacation for years to come, in large part because of the comfort and flexibility this house provided. Thank you Jason and Christal! - Rishi
