We arrived to find a nice bottle of champagne waiting for us and the apartment clean and ready stocked with coffee, tea, condiments, fresh towels, and some basic toiletries (To name a few). Jan has the place professionally cleaned between guests. She was easy to get ahold of but also careful to respect privacy.
The listing accurately represents the apartment and its surroundings. The neighborhood is fabulous! It’s a really short walk to Golden Gate Park and well connected with the Muni system. There is a small market close by to get basics and a Safeway about 10-15 min walk away. We also felt totally safe and it was nice to be in a neighborhood and not surrounded by a bunch of hotels. There is a private entrance to the apartment which is behind a locked door to the garden so we felt even more secure. I would stay here again and recommend it to friends!
Remember it is the city and you may here the neighbors kids playing outside and other usual noises. It was quiet at night though.
Jan is also open to feedback and suggestions and you can tell she wants to make sure you have a good experience.
Jan was a great host. Cute place, in a fairly nice area. make sure you ask Jan for anything you need help with. I waited too long to ask about the wifi and was without Internet for a while. When I asked her she moved the router and I could finally connect to it.
We really liked staying with Jan. The private apt. was very comfortable, clean, and we loved the little details that made us feel even more welcome. Jan also provided some very informative books about SF.
We couldn't enjoy the nice garden that much due to the weather, but when the sun is out it's awesome.
The place is not located in one of the busy areas of SF, but we actually liked that. Many good restaurants nearby, close to the parks and Ashbury Haight, and easy and quick access to any other area by bus. Great Airbnb experience!
Jan's property was beautifully furnished and in one of the greatest parts of San Francisco! Her self contained guest house looked over her beautiful backyard. We ate breakfast at a beautiful little cafe called Velo Rouge every morning which is one block from Jan's house. It was a short drive/bike ride to the Golden Gate Bridge. Thanks for hosting us Jan! We loved it.
I could not have asked for more during my stay in Jan's place. The one bedroom apartment has everything you'd need and Jan was very friendly and super helpful and so nice to arrive with a nice bottle of wine waiting. The apartment is very comfortable, has fast internet, very quite and having the garden right outside of the apartment is a true luxury for those morning coffees. It is very well situated near Golden Gate Park and with easy access for moving around San Francisco, Marin and Silicon Valley. Parking at night was pretty easy, although sometimes I had to loop around a few times but always found a spot.
I would definitely stay in Jan's place next time I am in town.
Wow! And to think we almost stayed in a hotel. We would have truly missed out on this great location which was totally perfect for my husband and I. It was a great location just around the corner from a wonderful coffee shop, a market which carried healthy selections of food and a wonderful deli and produce section, and the #5 busline which can connect you in most places you would want to go. We were attending our daughter's graduation at USF which was a short walk from the unit. Our host Jan thought of every little detail to make our stay warm, inviting, and comfortable for us, and it is the little details that really mean a lot. It was an extra plus to be able to have access to the washer and dryer too. The enclosed back courtyard was so nice and quiet and a great place to just relax with a glass of wine. It is a quiet neighborhood. I was a little apprehensive when I first booked this location since it was my first airbnb experience, but because of the great experience we had due to our great host Jan, it will definitely not be our last. The next time I am in San Francisco, I hope that this place will be available again. Why stay at a hotel, when you can stay in a place like this that really offers so much more and has so much more character than a plain hotel room? Not me. Our visit to San Francisco was great!
Hi. We're friendly folks who have lived in SF for more than 25 years, in this charming neighborhood near Golden Gate park and close to downtown. We love walking and biking in the City, and hiking in Marin and the East Bay hills. Love to travel whenever possible -- favorite places include Turkey and Thailand. We relish the range of ethnic cuisines available within six blocks from home. We try to provide everything a guest would need - transit maps, guidebooks, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, upscale linens, and all the privacy that a guest prefers. We're available if you'd like, or will respect your private sanctuary if that's your preference. We hope you'll love living like a local in San Francisco as much as we do!
