About This Listing
The Rose room has a cozy and positive energy. It consists of two bedrooms one of which is a domed tower. Both these rooms share a bathroom with a large rain shower. It is comfortable and pleases all ages. Beautiful views to the valley and forest.
This charming large room (a double and extra bed) has a connected tower room (two singles together) and a bathroom with a rain-showerhead. There are two fire-places and lovely views of rolling hills to the front and side to the forest.
This medieval dream castle is in the middle of France, in south Burgundy. Full of history and charm it is the epitome of a real French experience. Peace, authenticity and energy is what this site promises. Once inhabited by an Augustinian monastic community and noblesse, it breathes its past to the rolling hills surrounding it. Nine hundred hectares of woods provide for walks, horse-riding and picnicking along serene rivers connecting lovely villages at every angle. This is truly France without the crowd and hassles one finds in most areas during the holidays...
St. Gengoux-le-National, the village nearby at 3.5 km, has cozy medieval streets, shops and restaurants. In 1793 the king believed a "miraculous" fountain of youth flowed into the beautiful wash-house in the centre and named the village a royal spa.
The famous bike route, Voie Verte, that uses an old railroad for 70 km from Chalon-sur-Saone to Macon through crisp countrysides, stops at this village.
From fishing to visiting archaeological sites, ballooning, wine-tasting and culinary adventures at some of the best restaurants in the world, to visiting famous destinations such as Beaune, Cluny, Taize and Tournus. There is also lots to do for the children at several fun parks that make it a complete vacation for all. It is also perfectly situated for driving down south, although after you discover the secrets of Burgundy, you wouldn't have to go down south at all!
The chateau is also reachable by TGV from Paris in an hour and 26 minutes. From Gare de Lyon to Montchanin, Le Creusot station.
Smoking should be outside. We eat altogether on one big table (unless privacy is requested) and have very cosy and sharing dinners or breakfasts. Art is part of the experience hand in hand with food, wine and good conversations.
The castle's so nice we regret that only stayed there for one day! One day is too less!!!
Jeane, provided warm hospitality to us, and we are so thankful! Hard to say anything to describe our nice experience there. Guess what, Jeane's cooking is amazing and I wanna say we were astonished by her! We can see Jeane is not only a very good artist (we could see her fine works) and also very good at cooking! Chinese food!!
Hope can visit someday again!
The three of us (couple + 4yo) really enjoyed our brief stay. Our hosts were very accommodating and even let our daughter help in preparing her own dinner. The property is amazing from all aspects and has a great vibe. Communication was excellent and made for an easy stay experience. Thanks !!!
I booked this stay as a surprise for my girlfriend and you bet she was surprised! We arrived very late at night -nearly 23.30- but we were nevertheless welcomed with no problem whatsoever. The castle itself is wonderful, with its colourful roof and beautiful grounds. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and most of all what we preferred was the marvellous mix of modern and old; because the castle dwellers are as interesting as the dwelling itself! In every piece you can find the artistic creations of the owners and their entourage: beautiful paintings, sculpture, jewelry...
We really enjoyed our conversations with Jeane, Ruud and other citizens of the world. They even proposed going out to a concert together :)
We had a wonderful weekend in the magical and spiritual area of Burnand. The chateau was more than we expected , perfectly situated among the beautiful fields and wineyards of Burgundy, quiet and private with the amenities of a 5 star hotel. Our host ,Jeane ,is such an interesting person and we are all glad meeting her. She showed us around the chateau that was full of art and spiritualism and had everything prepared for us. We. enjoyed so such having breakfast altogether and meeting other excellent people, yet having the feeling of being at home while siting in the salon and lighting the fireplace! We are sad we could only stay for one night but so happy we discovered this actual jewel in this magnificent area and just can't wait to come back soon. Thank you Jeane, it was a real pleasure!

About the Host, Jeane
Anyone loving art, history and who is warm-hearted will enjoy feeling the energy that this property brings. Myself, I have traveled all my life and understand the need of feeling at home wherever one is, this feeling is universal and attainable through humanitarian hospitality and understanding. I enjoy sharing my undying enthusiasm about life and its wonders, the source of which we search wherever we go, so many things to tell, so much to see, so much to experience and when we think we're there, it is still a long way to go...
