Buena Vista beach is secluded and peaceful with very few visitors and is quite safe for swimming, surfing, and fishing. The beach is a Turtle sanctuary and thus is protected from the hyper development that has plagued the northern coast of the Nicoya peninsula. There is also a bird sanctuary adjacent to beach along the estuary offering an opportunity to see very rare and colorful winged friends. There is a wide variety of local flora and fauna. The area is very green and tranquil.
You will need to rent a 4 x 4 to access our home and many other locations in Costa Rica. The roads can be unpaved and you might have to cross an occasional river (without a bridge). Driveway to house is steep, but sooooo worth it!
Other Things to Note
There are many things to do around the area so once you have had your fill of relaxing at the pool, long leisurely strolls on Playa Buena Vista, and communing with nature by the patio get yourself up and out. Costa Rica has endless possibilities! World Class surfing, surfing lessons, kayaking tours, beachcombing, turtle tours, canopy excursions, hiking, biking, sightseeing, visiting galleries full of local art and craft, and the food…oh the food, you’ll never have fresher! Ok the coffee…world class! We would need pages to describe all of the wonderful things there are to do and explore. Both the towns of Samara and Nosara offer a wide variety of shops and restaurants with many operated by expats from Europe and the US.
OUR DRIVEWAY is VERY STEEP. You may also park at the bottom and walk up. There are plenty of spaces to park at the top and at the bottom.

We do not recommend this house for small children or non-ambulatory elderly folks. It is on a steep bluff and the pool is not enclosed.
It's a beautiful home, please treat her kindly.
Costa Rica is very eco-conscience please turn out lights and a/c when not at home.
Do NOT leave any food out, everything open goes in the fridge. Ants abound in CR and they can find food left out in about 18 seconds.
Leave the wildlife alone. Observe, be in awe, and take only photos.
The hosts were very accommodating and waited around for us till late into the evening despite it being New Year's Eve. The home is remote and located on a steep hill so a 4 wheel drive is necessary. The home is actually divided into 3 buildings with the various rooms. All the bedrooms came well stocked with linens and good air conditioning units. The pool and outside of the home were very well kept and the view was amazing. The home was stocked about the same as other Airbnb homes we've stayed at (we picked up some necessities such as salt and paper towel). They provided all the kitchen and cooking ware you would need and the wireless internet worked well. Some of the bathrooms had little issues that made them a bit harder to use. Be aware since the home is remote and due to how it was constructed there are frogs and some bugs that tend to get in. Some of our party was startled by frogs found in unexpected places. Overall we had a good experience and the hosts were very accommodating and easy to work with.
Fue un buen fin de semana, muchas aventuras para llegar a la playa y a Samara, nos costó trabajo saber cuál era el camino correcto.
Nos desilusionó un poco el que la playa más cercana estuviera lejos.
