Located in a quiet neighborhood just north of campus, our home is cozy and conveniently located on the free bus line (the A). We are two miles from UNC's campus, Franklin Street, and downtown Carrboro.
Your private room looks out on the side yard and has a lot of natural light. It has a full size bed with cotton sheets and a down comforter, a small dresser and closet space. It is also equipped with wifi and an alarm clock. The bedroom is just down the hall from the bathroom. Towels are provided for each guest. And if you forgot anything, we also have mini toiletries and toothbrushes!
During your stay, you will have full access to the kitchen and living area. You are also welcome to lounge outdoors in our adirondack chairs or hammock. Coffee and/or tea are available in the morning.
Interaction with Guests
My husband is in graduate school and I work full-time, so we aren't generally around during the day. Although we won't socialize much, we are happy to provide suggestions or answer questions!
Our neighborhood is beautiful, safe and quiet. Although we don't have sidewalks in our neighborhood, you will often see people out on walks with their family, friends and pets. We love living 2 miles from Chapel Hill and 2 miles from Carrboro, and we often bike or walk to our destination instead of driving.
Our house is conveniently located on the A and T Weekend line, and a short walk (10 minutes) to the NS bus stop. It is a reliable form of transportation and cheaper alternative than the parking meters on Franklin Street. However, the bus doesn't run on Sundays.
We also have an extra bike (& lock) that guests may rent for $5 a day. However, we don't have an extra helmet.
Other Things to Note
We have one pet-a sweet kitty named Delta. Since we both have allergies, we keep the house really clean and she isn't allowed in the guest bedroom at all!
We are very excited about hosting you in our house! We ask that you follow a few guidelines while staying with us.
1) No shoes in the house.
2) No smoking in the house. You are welcome to smoke outside.
3) Wash dishes after using.
4) Always lock both locks upon exiting the house.
5) Be considerate about using the electricity. Please turn off all lights whenever you leave a room or the house.
6) No visiting pets are allowed.
7) No extra visitors and no parties.
Josh and Lee were very sweet and accommodating. They let me do my thing as I prepped for a festival and were very accommodating to my schedule.
Plus the bed was very comfy!
Josh was super helpful, friendly and very interesting to talk to. Lee was out of town and I missed the opportunity to meet her. The location was centrally located to Chapel Hill and Carrboro. The bed was clean and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!
Lee and Josh were terrific hosts. Their house is small and comfortable. I really liked their furniture! The room was clean and well maintained. They provided toiletries and towels, which came in handy.
My girlfriend and I had never been to Chapel Hill and knew nothing about it. Lee and Josh gave us some suggestions on restaurants. Every one of the suggestions was just what we were looking for. I liked the Indian restaurant that Lee suggested so much that I went twice in a day.
I would definitely recommend staying with Lee and Josh.
Beautiful home nestled among trees... the photos are very accurate. It was a short but packed visit -- the Nasher Museum, local YMCA, Carrboro shops, brunch at the Carolina Inn with an old friend. Staying here was a perfect way enjoy the area. Got to chat with both Lee and Josh - interesting and warm people. Great night's rest in a comfy bed with sweet smelling pillows!
Lee and Josh were great hosts. We had a lovely stay at their place. They offered us lots of tips for the local area. Highly recommended!
Lee was easy to communicate with and had lots of information about the local area as well as providing amenities to make the stay very pleasant. Friendly hosts and a cozy room indeed, local to all of the places we visited in Chapel Hill and relatively easy to get about the "triad" area.
My husband, Josh, and I live in Chapel Hill, NC. He is a grad student at UNC, and I will be starting my MPH this fall. We love getting outdoors, whether it is a quick walk in the park or a hiking trip. I LOVE to cook and to read, which usually means I'm reading about chefs or flipping through my Bon Appetit magazine. We are currently planning a two week road trip up the North East coast this summer--we'll be stopping in the Hudson Valley, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, the Green Mountains, & Philadelphia.
