It is the ideal place for relaxing and enjoying the splendid background of Positano, the ancient " Pasitea", of Greek or Roman origins, with its rocky mountains, its emerald and turquoise sea, its bronze sand.
Villa Mario Casa Iris immersed in the picturesque natural beauty of the Amalfi Coast, in the higher part of Positano, in the pretty village called Nocelle, overlooking fantastically shaped rocks plunging vertically into an empty crystal-clear sea. Lemon, orange and olive trees relieve the bareness of naked stone. Immagine the best a holiday home could offer. A house of 70 squeres metres, with all the amenieties that are designed to pamper each guest. At " Villa Mario Casa Iris" every details comes together to provide you with a place that is original as whole. Its two bedrooms, a double room and two bunk beds in the smaller bedroom, a family bathroom with a hot tub, a shower room, a refined living area and a full equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge, freezer, toaster delight the senses. The apartment has air conditioning, washing machine and wi-fi.
Your stay with us will an experience to savor.
A sweet and self-service breakfast is included in the nightly rate of the apartment.
The Villa is also the start for walking itineraries towards the most beautiful trail of the Amalfi Coast, called " Path of the Gods".
If you are looking for exercise, consider an Amalfi Coast hike. Numerous trails connect Positano with the others villages on the hill.
Mule tracks lead away from the bustle of trendy Positano.
You have free admision to the surrounding gardens which follows the folds cultivated with several vegetable.
My father usually offers to our guests lemons, tomatoes, cucumbers.
With our natural kindness towards the visitors we consider the guest as a friend instead of a simple tourist;
however we respect your own privacy.
To few steps from the Path of the Gods, in front of precious landscape there is a family of birds of prey (owl, hawk, falcon, vulture and eagle), that give you unforgattable emotions of your holidays.
From the parking lot, where the road ends, go down the 100 steps and walk the alley to the Path of the Gods, passing the intersection with a Madonna Grotto.
Nocelle is connected by a local bus line in the summer with Positano downtown.
You can park free your car along the pubblic road, with no fee.
The village with its ancient roads, has no access by car, but throughout the pedestrian street and the stairs only.
The entrance gate and the stairs that carry you down to the accomodation are common tracts.
The suburb is very clean and well adorned with shared areas of colourful flowers.
I would advise you to smoke only outdoors.
Remember to turn off the gas of the cooker and the heating and air conditioning unit before going out.
Toy dogs are admitted.
Ten metres first, a kiosk offers you a good option for a snack nearby.
There are a grocery shop and two restaurants in the town.
I will be happy to assiste you throughout the length of your vacation.

Debora is the owner.
The person who takes care of the Villa and who you will get in touch with is Monica.
We were made very welcome. The arrangement for meeting went perfectly. Our host Monica could not have been more helpful throughout our stay nothing was too much trouble. Villa Mario is quite remote from Positano but well worth the effort. The steps down to Positano were a lot of fun It takes about 45 minutes to walk back up at a slow pace or 20 minutes if you run/walk up. The villa was very comfortable and well equipped.
My mum and I spent 5 nights in Debora's wonderful villa. Monica, Debora's cousin kindly met us in Positano and took us to the villa. It was very spacious for the two of us and would easily accommodate a family of four. It also has a wonderful, large balcony too. The location of the villa was perfect for hiking, which we spent 80% of our days doing! The two restaurants in Nocelle were lovely and the 1700 steps down to Positano weren't too challenging either. All in all we had a perfect visit, the villa was ideal and all of Monica's help was greatly appreciated. I would recommend this villa to anyone looking for a peaceful trip to the Amalfi Coast.
Hi Kate and Kim!
We hope you are fine.
It has been an enjoyable time for me to meeting and helping you.
Hosting you in our town it gave us a huge pleasure.
It is so nice to know your visit on the Amalfi Coast was pleasant and the apartment comfortable for your needs.
Thank you for your feedback! You are so optimistic and happy!
We would not hesitate to welcome you again!
We really enjoyed our time at the villa. Monica was great and really helped alleviate my fears about getting to the Villa. From the Naples airport (departures area), we took the Curreri Viaggi bus (10 euros each) to Sorrento, transferred to the SITA and met Monica at the Chiesa Nuova stop. She then took us on the local bus up to the house. The house itself is very clean and pretty much identical to the pictures. We really enjoyed being able to cook with the fresh, regional ingredients.
This is a great place if you really want to get away from it all and be in nature. It is literally at the end (or beginning, depending on your perspective) of the Path of the Gods. We picked it up right from our doorstep and took it all the way down to Praiano. I can't actually imagine how one would go from Praiano up to Nocelle (where the villa is), because there are so many steps! At least when you pick it up from the villa, you are (mostly) going down at the end. If you want to skip the major downhill parts (its a bit steep and rough on the knees), I think you can stop in Bomerano (instead of Praiano), but honestly we don't know how we made it back - it's not really obvious how to get out of Praiano once you exit the path, so I'd recommend doing some research first.
Nocelle is a lovely village, but just know there is not much there to eat or do like in Positano. We ended up getting groceries down in Positano (right by the main bus stop in the square) and cooking for dinner. There is one restaurant (pasta and seafood), a pizzeria (with a small market where you buy tickets for the bus - it's more expensive to buy on the bus), and an open air snack bar right outside the villa. You'll also have about a 5-10 min walk from the bus station to the villa, but there aren't that many stairs involved. The bus also arrives only once every hour. I don't think any of these are really challenges for the average traveler - I actually think they add to the experience as it requires you to slow down. Besides, Nocelle is a destination for a lot of Amalfi Coast visitors because of the Path of Gods and the birds of prey show. Just plan ahead, ask Monica questions, keep the bus schedule handy and you should be fine and have a lovely trip.
It is a big pleasure to read your comments!
Thank you so much!
You are a great guest.
With the hope to meet you again in our town!
If you will be traveling to the Amalfi Coast in the future, let us know!
We will welcome you and your parents again with a lot of joy!
Our kindest regards!
Monica, Debora's cousin made arrangements to meet us to show us where the free parking for the village was (as there is no traffic in Nocelle). She was waiting when we arrived and helped us with our luggage. We expected the journey to Villa Mario to be 10 minutes but it seemed less than that and quite straight forward despite both steps up and down - we expected those. She the spent some time showing us the apartment and the terrace - all gorgeous with everything you might want. She even picked some tomatoes and lemons from her uncle's garden for us. She was very helpful and friendly and when we met her by chance the next day she came with us to book a meal in the village restaurant (which was fab.....). She gave us help with ferries and made recommendations for things to do and told us about the buses all of which helped us have a great few days. Nocelle has a wonderful position 500 m above sea level - the road to it is not for the faint hearted but the views are truly amazing. We used the bus which allowed us to enjoy the views! Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer as there were things to do in the village that we just ran out of time for.
your feedback is full of positivity.
It was a huge surprise to read such nice comments on the check-in, location and access of the apartment.
Everything was so harmonious since your arrival in the town.
On how to reach Villa Mario was told a 10 minutes walk, because we think that guests are not used to walking; in your case there was no need!
Thank you for your enthusiasm and suggestion on how to improve the guests experience.
Next time if you get the chance, it would be good to stay more than 3 days.
Hopefully there will be an opportunity to meet us again!
Zurück fährt jede Stunde in Bus.
Tanti cari saluti e a presto!

Until 2001 the village was reachable by foot only;
there was no access by car coming from the surrounding area and Positano, but just the pedestrinan road. Then the first driveway was built here.
