Hi Francesca, thanks for your review and for highlighting highs and lows of your experience. I acknowledge that you have had some issues during your stay, which I am very sorry to hear. I have already replied to you privately to express my feelings over this. However, since you also left a public review, I will also have to add some public clarification for future guests who are either planning or already due to visit us shortly.
1) The shower issue - Francesca has a fair point here. Showers are fully functioning with hot and cold water, however the mixing of the 2 flows is not the most smart or straightforward technology currently on the market, therefore due care is to be taken. We are already looking at different options to modernize the sanitary ware, however in the meanwhile guests will be practically shown upon arrival how to get the best out of what is in place.
2) The double bed - As clearly stated in our listing, 1 bedroom has a proper double bed with a double mattress, the 2nd bedroom has a sofa bed with a system that allows it to be either separated into 2 single beds or to have these joined together.
3) Sleeping in the heat - Saying that our apartment might not be ideal in June-August is quite a statement, Francesca! :) That is actually our busiest period and probably the best time to be in the house, which gets filled with a great amount of light. Heat is a rather subjective point, with most of our guests finding the apartment quite OK at night even on hot summer days. Certainly for next summer we will be prepared with portable air conditioning systems, just in case.
To conclude, the pricing is very considerate of the demand and the offer elsewhere in our area. A lot of other hosts would squeeze 10 or 12 beds in the space available for the sake of higher profits, while we preferred to preserve the old character of the house and to offer plenty of habitable space to couples, families, or small groups of people.
