This 800 sq. ft. suite, with a comfortable living area for relaxing or watching TV, and a large bedroom/bath, is the whole second floor of my house in the gated community of Glenmore. It is minutes from Monticello, Ash Lawn and downtown Charlottesville. Walking trails nearby.
This open-floor plan, second floor suite is closed off from the rest of the house, affording privacy and quiet to guests. Includes TV, Netflix, Wi-Fi, and plenty of books.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, breakfast room, and back porch overlooking the woods and garden. If needed, a washer/dryer is also available.
I will be happy to assist my guests in any way, whether it be providing driving directions to the local tourist attractions, recommendations for restaurants or information about performing arts events.
As you drive in to Glenmore you will see pastures of horses, reminding you that Keswick, while only 5 miles from downtown Charlottesville, is farm country. Former city dweller that I am, I never tire of the beautiful drives in my neighborhood...passing cows, sheep and horses.
You will need a car, but parking is not a problem.
I also have a guestroom/bath on the first floor which might be available, if you have one or two additional people in your party.
$50.00 /pp/per night.
Susan's home is so beautiful! This was my first airbnb experience and I was very nervous but Susan made us feel welcome right from the moment I booked the reservation. She certainly didn't have to, but she volunteered to help arrange car service to and from a concert venue, and she suggested a phenomenal Mustang Preserve to visit, and she even called ahead to introduce us to the owners of the preserve. It's hard for me to write in a few short words how much this effort meant to me. And we hadn't even arrived yet!
When we arrived it was like coming home to a good friend. Susan's home is gorgeous and filled with tasteful decor and original art. I was there to take my teenager daughter and her friend to a concert so we only had a few hours before having to head out, but after chatting in front of a cozy fire and snacking on cheese and crackers, in those few short hours I honestly would have preferred to stay and visit at Susan's house rather than venture out for the concert venue!!
The next morning we awoke to the aroma of fresh, warm croissants and a spread of breakfast goodies. The girls looked at me and said "this is AWESOME". And I have to agree. Susan and her lovely home are "awesome" and we loved staying there. You will too if you are fortunate enough to choose her as a host.
This is the nicest place we have ever stayed. Susan's home is immaculate, beautiful, well furnished, and very comfortable. Susan is an extremely warm and caring hostess. Her thoughtfulness was expressed by chocolates and a Keurig machine for coffee and tea at anytime. Breakfast was delicious and our conversations with Susan were interesting and amusing. The neighborhood was quiet, but just 15 minutes from downtown Charlottesville. We will definitely return.
Lovely little home away from home! My boyfriend and I stayed in Susan's suite during our weekend trip to see Monticello and the Charlottesville area. Susan is a wonderful host with amazing stories, warm personality, and impeccable attention to detail. We arrived to the aroma of Trader Joe's pumpkin bread wafting from the kitchen. Susan provided a clean, warm and enjoyable place for our stay and useful directions and recommendations for local activities and dining.
As her first Airbnb guests, we were pleasantly surprised with everything during our stay from our room being outfitted with a Keurig machine, chocolate truffles next to the comfortable king sized bed, a personal entertainment center with Netflix and books, and a delicious continental breakfast in the breakfast nook the next morning. As animal lovers, her two Birman cats welcomed our affection and made us feel at home. Collections from her worldly travels and her sister's paintings fill her walls, shelves and table tops, with a taste of country French decor. The amenities for the price, comfortable sleeping quarters, and welcoming hospitality will definitely bring us back for a return visit to enjoy this country retreat!
