This 800 sq. ft. suite, with a comfortable living area for relaxing or watching TV, and a large bedroom/bath, is the whole second floor of my house in the gated community of Glenmore. It is minutes from Monticello, Ash Lawn and downtown Charlottesville. Walking trails nearby.
This open-floor plan, second floor suite is closed off from the rest of the house, affording privacy and quiet to guests. Includes TV, Wi-Fi, and plenty of books.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, breakfast room, and back porch overlooking the woods and garden. If needed, a washer/dryer is also available.
Interaction with Guests
I will be happy to assist my guests in any way, whether it be providing driving directions to the local tourist attractions, recommendations for restaurants or information about performing arts events.
As you drive in to Glenmore you will see pastures of horses, reminding you that Keswick, while only 5 miles from downtown Charlottesville, is farm country. Former city dweller that I am, I never tire of the beautiful drives in my neighborhood...passing cows, sheep and horses.
You will need a car, but parking is not a problem.

I also have a guestroom/bath on the first floor which might be available, if you have one or two additional people in your party.

Susan is the most gracious and welcoming host imaginable. She even insisted on making us breakfast. The house is beautiful and the second story suite is perfection. Spacious, peaceful, super clean and comfortable. All around wonderful experience.
Susan was like an aunt I hadn’t seen in years. She treated us like a part of the family and was a great host. We went to Keswick for a wedding and instead of booking a hotel we stayed at our first Airbnb. What a great decision! The upstairs suite was clean and roomy. The bed and sheets were awesome. To top if off she even made us breakfast. Make sure you ask for a croissant, they are the "piece de resistance" :). We will definitely be back….hopefully this summer.
We had a short but wonderful stay at Susan's house. Susan was welcoming and friendly. Her home was sparklingly clean and beautifully appointed. Our suite was spacious and private, a pleasure to stay in. Breakfast was delicious, right down to the warm, freshly baked croissants! The neighborhood was lovely. The location was perfect for the wedding that we attended at Trump Winery. I highly recommend this listing.
I spent 2 nights at Susan's. Her house is very beautiful, neat and clean. The second floor, is very spacious, has a comfortable bed, a cozy living room area, and most importantly, it gives the sense of a totally independent area from the rest of the house which allows you to have privacy. Before arriving Susan provided us with a list of good restaurants. We tried some of them and the food was excellent. Also, upon arriving she was very helpful by giving us recommendations regarding the things we could visit during our stay at Charlottesville. Susan always showed herself available to kindly answer all our questions before and during our stay. I cannot forget to mention the amazing breakfast we had We had a very good stay! Without any hesitation I recommend Susan’s
We loved this property and our host. Guests have the upstairs with their own apartment essentially with a living room, bathroom, and bedroom. It had the feel of a true bed and breakfast but with more space. The space is cozy and warm and the host treats you like family! We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area.
Susan was a wonderful hostess with a beautiful home. The suite was very clean, extremely comfortable and we would highly recommend her home to anyone desiring a convenient location when visiting Monticello, UVA and the Charlottesville area. We give her an A+.
Susan was an exceptional host, even before we arrived! I was looking for tickets to the Montepelier Hunt as the advance ticket sales ended and Susan generously offered to pick up tickets for us! She also suggested a perfect restaurant in Charlottesville that made our evening very enjoyable. The upstairs suite was quiet, charming and very private. We enjoyed meeting her two lovely and curious cats and our stimulating breakfast conversation with Susan. She is very knowledgeable about the area and sincerely works to ensure her guests have a wonderful visit. We look forward to a return visit.
Formerly a New York City corporate type, I am now retired and enjoy the beauty, history and casual ambiance of Charlottesville - home of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and University of Virginia. I have acted in three of the five local community theaters, and enjoy attending concerts, opera and dance at the Paramount Theatre. Beware...I have two Birman cats who are people lovers. So if you are allergic to cats, my house is not for you. I have travelled all over the world and have frequently stayed in other people's homes, so I know what you expect.
