About this listing
This 800 sq. ft. suite, with a comfortable living area for relaxing or watching TV, and a large bedroom/bath, is the whole second floor of my house in the gated community of Glenmore. It is minutes from Monticello, Ash Lawn and downtown Charlottesville. Walking trails nearby.
This open-floor plan, second floor suite is closed off from the rest of the house, affording privacy and quiet to guests. Includes TV, Wi-Fi, and plenty of books.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, breakfast room, and back porch overlooking the woods and garden. If needed, a washer/dryer is also available.
Interaction with Guests
I will be happy to assist my guests in any way, whether it be providing driving directions to the local tourist attractions, recommendations for restaurants or information about performing arts events.
As you drive in to Glenmore you will see pastures of horses, reminding you that Keswick, while only 5 miles from downtown Charlottesville, is farm country. Former city dweller that I am, I never tire of the beautiful drives in my neighborhood...passing cows, sheep and horses.
You will need a car, but parking is not a problem.

I also have a guestroom/bath on the first floor which might be available, if you have one or two additional people in your party.

Susan's house was absolutely lovely! We were in town for a wedding. Susan went above and beyond to accommodate and made an already fun time much more wonderful. The house is beautiful and the suite very comfortable and wonderfully decorated. Susan made a delicious breakfast that included warm croissants, fresh fruit, yogurt, and granola. We got to dine this morning out on the great, peaceful back deck and watch the birds. I highly recommend!
I had a lovely visit in Charlottesville this weekend staying in Susans home. Susan was very quick to agree to our stay, she responded within 1 hour. Susan was also very flexible on our check-in time which was much appreciated. When we arrived Susan gave us a tour of her home and spoke to us about local attractions in Charlottesville.
Susans house was beautifully decorated and impeccably clean. The neighborhood is very nice and the gated entrance added extra security.
Breakfast with Susan was divine. Her spread included fresh fruit, croissants, cereal, and yogurt.
If I ever need to stay overnight in Charlottesville again I will definitely contact Susan!
My husband & I had the pleasure of staying at Susan's home in June and it was absolutely delightful. We couldn't have asked for nicer accomodations or better host! The home is lovely, clean and beautifully decorated. It was so nice having our own space but Susan was there if we needed anything. I highly recommend this airbnb and plan to return if in the Charlottesville area again. Oh, and the breakfast - Awesome!
Our visit exceeded our expectations in every way. Our host was warm and welcoming and a wealth of information about the area. The home itself, as well as the suite, was stunning. The area surrounding the house was very peaceful and scenic. Our visit could not have been improved on in any way.
Susan was so kind and gracious.
Due to family circumstances we were unable to stay at her AirBnB
She was understanding, and charged us for the one night as a non refundable deposit.
We will be returning to Charlottesville hopefully in Drotember and will definitely try to stay if room is available.
We could not have been happier with our stay at Susan's beautiful home. The second floor space was immaculate - private and extremely spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had great pressure. The community is beautiful and quiet and very easy to navigate. Susan was a perfect host - she was easy to get in touch with and greeted us with a smile even though we arrived past 11pm. Her fresh croissants were amazing! She lives very close to Charlottesville and it's easy to get around. I would definitely recommend her b&b to everyone! 4 stars. Amazing!!
When we pulled up to the house, Susan was at the front door to greet us with a smile. She showed us the house (beautiful), our room (big, beautiful, great bed and coffee in the room) and we talked about schedules as we were attending our son's graduation from UVA. She was most accommodating and informative, offering suggestions for our dinner that evening at The Hamilton - shrimp & grits - divine!
About the Host, Susan
Formerly a New York City corporate type, I am now retired and enjoy the beauty, history and casual ambiance of Charlottesville - home of Thomas Jefferson's Monticello and University of Virginia. I have acted in three of the five local community theaters, and enjoy attending concerts, opera and dance at the Paramount Theatre. Beware...I have two Birman cats who are people lovers. So if you are allergic to cats, my house is not for you. I have travelled all over the world and have frequently stayed in other people's homes, so I know what you expect.
