Location, location, location:
This private B&B apartment is centrally located
in the 'Spiegelkwartier’. This is a neighborhood loved for its many art and antique galleries, monumental houses and romantic canals. The flat is within walking distance of many of the finest museums, including: Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh (both 5 minutes).
The apartment is a 10 minute tram ride away from central station. By taxi or public transport it takes about 30-45 minutes from the apartment to Schiphol Airport.
Please also note that the stairways are VERY steep. Most people find this entertaining and authentic - but if you have trouble walking, this is not the right place for you.
*** If you would like to enquire about this apartment, please make sure that your profile is filled out, or that you send me some information about yourself. Thanks! ***
Interaction with Guests
I answer my emails on a daily basis (usually a few times a day), and when you are here you can always reach me via phone for urgent questions.
If I am not around when you arrive, I will leave the keys for you in a little safe, so check-in's are really easy.
Other Things to Note
Depending on whether there are other guests checking in or out, we try to facilitate early or late check in/out's, at no extra cost. If this is not possible then you can easily store your baggage at the central station (about 10 minutes by tram from the flat)
Please only smoke on the balcony or roof terrace. Amsterdam is a party city, but this is not a party apartment - we ask you to not play loud music after 10pm and be considerate of our neighbours and keep down the noise, also if you are on the roof terrace.
Pets are allowed, but please ask me beforehand, and also note that a surcharge of 25 Euro applies for cleaning costs.
Also, this is not a houserule - but please note that the stairways are VERY steep. Most people find this entertaining and authentic - but if you have trouble walking, this is not the right place for you.
Also - please no pets.
Vera's flat is well located in the nice and lively neighborhood of Jordaan, closed to supermarket, shopping and tourist attractions.
It suits for 4 people but the rooms are quite little and the flat's stairs are really steep. The flat is not suitable for a family with little children.
There is a really nice rooftop you can enjoy when the weather is sunny.
Un appartamento perfetto in pieno centro a pochi passi da Leidseplein...pulito e con ogni comodità, un terrazzino splendido ideale per un pomeriggio in pieno relax...sicuramente da consigliare
A great part of Amsterdam to stay in - you can see the Rijksmuseum from the street and there are plenty of shops close by for food and restaurants to eat out.
The apartment is above a hip burger/sandwich bar - the staff there are very pleasant and we ate a takeaway on the last night of our stay - it was really tasty. The accommodation was warm and well-equipped, though my husband would have liked an extra blanket. Highly recommended.
Everything was amazing! Walking distance to all the major sightseeing places. Apartment is bigger than on photo and looks antique and beautiful. Terrace on the 3rd floor opens a great view on sunset/sunrise (Wish it was warmer - wine makes it up). It is very cozy as well and Vera was very helpful and fulfilled all our requests.
Everything was great! Great location, great flat. Very cute and the rooms are spacious with nice views. The roof terrace is really nice. A little noisy at night but that seems true everywhere in Amsterdam.
This apartment was wonderful! Easy walking to major sites, close to trams. Lovely restaurants all around the apartment - we visited Stach for coffee everyday! Vera was very sweet when we met, check in was a breeze. One note - very steep steps to get up to apartment and up to second floor. Was a little treacherous, especially with suitcases.
Just spent the last few days (in a group of 4) at this apartment and it's one of the nicest places I've stayed in so far. A couple of my friends have been to Amsterdam several times before and they were commenting on it being the nicest place that they've stayed in Amsterdam.
Everything was clean and the flat is very comfortable to stay in. The beds are really comfy too (almost too comfy, we got up a bit late on a couple of days as a result). I can confirm that everything looks like the pictures and is also as described. This includes the very steep stairs. You get used to them pretty quickly though and as long as you use the handrails you'll be fine. No one had any incidents in our stay there. However, I wouldn't recommend it for anyone with limited mobility.
The location is great as it's around a 15 minute walk to the old centre and a 5 minute walk from the Leidesplein area so everything is in walking distance. The area it's in itself is very nice too, lots of art shops and nice buildings to gawp at. There's a few nice places to eat in the area but you don't have to walk far to get to some of the other main food places if nothing takes your fancy.
Vera was a great host and very helpful.
I would stay here again without hesitation.
