Interaction with Guests
Hosting is like getting a new roommate, you share the place giving each other the needed privacy or help when needed. The interaction with the 2 other long stay (website hidden) depends on the period you'll be staying. Also, depending on the period of your stay, it might happen that you'll be sharing the apartment with other Airbnb guests instead of the long stay (website hidden).
The appartment is located in the city center, just around the corner from the internationally renowned shops on Avenue Louise. It is also very close to Place Louise, a hub providing bus, tram and metro connections to reach the heart of the historic city and the Midi railway station with its Eurostar and Thallys connections. The Royal Palace and Parc de Bruxelles are just a 15 minute stroll away. Place Poelart with its impressive Law Courts and stunning views over the city is a five minute walk away and also the point of departure for tours around the city.
Part of the street is partially pedestrian where you will be able to discover attractive bars and restaurant terraces, take away, boutiques and cafes; includes the famous "Piccolo Mondo", « La vigne », « Sushiworld », Sandwiches Terese et Dominique » best sandwiches in town, mind the queue at lunch time ! « Chez Papa » Lebanese fine food, supermarket Delhaize, Night shop and Delimarket for gourmets at the corner of the street, Paul bakery 3min. walk, proximity of "Louise village" for trendy breakfasts on terrace and Places Louise/Place Stéphanie. Within minutes wak to the Sablon antiquaires enjoying a privileged location in the city's most fashionable shopping district with hundreds of shops and high class & luxury commercial area. UGC, Stynx and independent Vendôme cinemas but also high class nightclubs venues (Spirito, Martini club, Cospaia, Louise Galleries) are less than 10 min. walk.
You also have the possibility to recollect yourself at the Tibetan-Buddhist meditation centre Kagyu Samye Dzong located only 3 min. walk, daily meditations, conferences, …
The neighbourhood consists of very beautiful streets in High-Saint-Gilles (limit with Ixelles), Master houses and pearls of the Brussels architecture of late XIX, early XXth centuries, Art Nouveau hub with the famous Victor Horta house.
The popular quarter of the “Parvis de Saint-Gilles” and its daily fresh market allows to taste delicious food from the Belgian country side but also beyond. Just walk down the street about 6 min. and you’ll discover the hub of the young alternative students, ecologists, artists and easy-going people. “La Maison du people” on the square is a bar but also an emblematic cultural centre day and night !
Last but not least the European quarter is not far either, 2-3 metro stops. Count about 20 min. walk to the busy Place Luxembourg and the European Parliament.
To make sure you discover Brussels at it’s best, I’ll send you a document with all of my favorite places.

Other Things to Note
Smoking is allowed only on the balcony.
Check in hours are very flexible.
IMPORTANT: It is senseless to send an inquiry asking if the dates you see available online are still available. They are ! You could proceed with the booking directly if you feel ready. ;-)
There are some reasonable house rules inspired by the general savoir-vivre in order to make everyone feel comfortable at home. These rules are clearly labeled in some important areas or on some devices of the flat and will be explained to you upon your arrival.
Cleaning lady comes regularly to clean the apartment.
Very very nice room, accurate to description and good location. Host Alin is a very friendly guy and incredibly organized. Overall I couldn't find any flaws and accomodation matched all my expectations! Thank you!
Plus: - there are sticker notes to explain how things work in the house
- he was thoughtful and tried to foresee what is needed even if he wasn't in town- which is nice (adaptors, tea, water...)
Minus:- the sticker notes sometimes cross the border of irritating, a little too restrictive (need to have reading glasses always so one knows all the rules of the house as you go along- Sory Alin, the first time, i didn't have glasses so i wasn't able to read all the notes)
- would appreciate 2nd set of keys if being charged as couple
- airBnB pricing for this is on the expensive side
Hello Rowena, for a second set of keys you could always have asked while you were there ! I wouldn't have been a problem at all. (even at a hotel you don't receive spontaneously two sets immediately I think) In general, couples stay together... so that's why only one set of keys is given initially.
For the sticker notes you were irritated by, I'm sorry it bothered you. As you would go & discover a new place with its own specificities it's always better to have your glasses (if not your healthy vision) to allow you a smooth exploration, at least the very first time & take advantage of the place at its highest level.
In order to keep a certain level of confort for all guests and permanent residents it is necessary to have some basic and very common sense house rules. A vast majority of guests agree with this principle. It would be a non sense I think to remove the stickers of the kitchen for instance and put them on an abstract separate sheet of paper that nobody would notice and then enter a foggy dust kitchen with burned tools wondering why it happened to become like this. Having your full capacity of vision with you the first minutes of exploration of the apartment is a basic must to have I think. So, I don't think the stickers are restrictive at all, they are very readable and not too small. They are placed in strategic places to help your orientation.
Guests are coming from all over the world and not everyone has your culture or habits for instance. Sometimes, some obvious principles to you may sound very pertinent to other ones.
And finally, concerning the price, I don't think its too expensive regarding what it is offered and also the location. Louise area is among the very few high class areas in the city center.
alin is a nice host. His room is very artistique with great sense of home deco taste. and the location is very convenient near city center. I would recommend to my friend.
Alien was away when I first arrived, but his wonderful mother welcomed me warmly. I was feeling a bit under the weather when I arrived, and instantly started to feel better after a long shower in Alin's amazing bathroom and a wonderful night's sleep in the comfortable bed.
Alin's roommate Emilio is a great person as well. We had great conversations and even enjoyed a bottle of wine together. When Alin returned from his travels, he made me tea with a special syrup made by nuns in his home country of Romania. I have never felt so welcomed in my life.
Long story short, if you're looking for a place to stay that isn't far from the center of Brussels, you should end your search here. You will not be disappointed. :)
As before, it was very easy arranging to stay at Alin's place and making the check-in etc. The room was clean as was the rest of the apartment, and it was nice and quiet at night. Although I didn't meet the other person staying in the flat, I did meet Alin's nice flatmate Emilio again. I would be happy to recommend this apartment.
I went to Bruxelles at Alin's Place with a friend.
We did not meet Alin but his mother who as been incredibly nice and helpful welcomed us. We had mistaken the train stop at our arrival and she had been kind enough to pospone the cheek in and wait for us.
the stay has been overall very good.
the place is really close to the center, there's a supermarket nearby, restaurants, clubs, the metro...perfect location!
