Joshua stayed in our apartment for one month. He stayed with his family of 5 kids! and for a week the grand parents stayed in the apartment as well.

The apartment where Joshua stayed is a brand new apartment that belongs to my cousin Lorena and his husband Renato. They are a young couple with a 10 years old daughter. You could probably guess which room used to belong to my niece.

Because of financial reasons my cousin decided to put for rent his new apartment (since September 2013). They had only lived there for about a year. The furniture and apartment are basically brand new.

The apartment is not a lavish apartment, but it is very welcoming and everything is in good working order since it is almost brand new. It is certainly good value for money.

When Joshua returned the apartment Renato and Lorena were not impressed at all on the poor condition that it was returned. We don't expect for our guests to leave the apartment as clean and organized as we provide it (we understand that you are on vacations), but we expect a minimum of consideration.

For example, if you had an accident and you broke something, we expect you to buy a replacement or provide the money so that we buy it for you. if you burnt a pan, we expect you to clean and remove all the stains, if you couldn't remove the stains from the pan, we might ask you to buy another pan. if you stained with food the pillow cases we expect you to try to remove the stains as quickly as possible, etc.

Fortunately I never had problems with such issues with any of my previous guests. Usually things break of normal use (blender, internet, hot water electric system). and we fix them immediately. All my guests had always been very considered and had made good use of the apartments.

Joshua returned the apartment with some damages and he didn't wanted to take responsibility for the damage. When I told him that he had to pay around 100 dollars for the damage done:

- two tv remotes broken (the battery cover were broken)
- one door lock broken (the interior was bended because of excess weight hanging from the door lock)
- Two small holes in the kitchen top,

our communication derailed. He started to complain about the internet, the hot water, and kept saying that the damage was the result of "cheap materials" used in this apartment. I didn't appreciated the tone of his comments and I replied pointing out the poor conditions that he returned the apartment. A pan was badly burnt and there was food stain in one pillow case (I didn't charged for this). I said that in years of renting apartments, nobody had returned an apartment in such poor conditions. This is the 'insult' that he refers to.

Regarding the internet and the hot water. All I can say on this regards is that if you book this apartment and you find the problems that Joshua is describing, we will give your money back.
