About This Listing
Welcome to our Costa Rica mountain retreat :)
Located on 10+ stunning acres of view property, our home offers guests the ultimate in serene, natural sights and sounds.
We invite you to really get away from it all and soak up the beauty!
Welcome to your Costa Rican mountain escape :)
Our home is situated on 10+ acres of stunning view property in one of the most beautiful valleys in the entire country.
Ask the neighbors: the energy around here is infectious!
Upon entering the private gate, you'll probably notice the massive retaining wall to your right, which is known to many in the area as the 'Great Wall'. It eventually opens up to show the rest of our land, most of which sits above the driveway and extends to the top of the small mountain behind the house.
Ample parking is provided under a covered structure.
As you approach the front door, you'll be welcomed by the lush, green lawn and vibrant native flora. My mother has planted various fruit trees around the house, which, of course, will provide fresh offerings for your enjoyment during your stay. The sweet limones are a personal favorite.
The house itself includes a large, open common area with a dining table and living room. We really enjoy the high ceilings and open airflow, which is helped by the several sets of double doors that together can create a very outdoorsy feel, even while inside.
The furniture is all quite new and tailored to be in Costa Rican style with a modern, comfortable twist. The flat screen TV has a DVD player for evening movie nights, and there is WiFi access throughout the house. We have Netflix access, but no cable TV.
The kitchen is mostly newly renovated and includes a brand new propane gas range and oven, sink and island/prep area. Cookware, a blender, a microwave, a coffee maker, and utensils will be ready for your use.
Each of the bedrooms has a queen sized bed and vast floor space. Really though; this house is very, very open! You'll notice as soon as you step in. We also have another twin bed and frame, as well as a couch that is great for sleeping on.
The bathroom is accessible via each bedroom on either side, and the shower, which is probably as large as most bathrooms in the country, is a walk-in type with tile all around. Washer and dryer are in the back also, and certainly available for your use.
The bus stops right outside of the driveway, which can take you all the way to the beaches (roughly 2 hours), including Manuel Antonio and Jaco, which is the closest. Or, if you're headed back to the city, Puriscal is just over 15 mins away and San Jose approximately an hour.
A short walk (2 min drive) down the hill takes you to a natural spring pool and cute local restaurant. For a fraction of the cost of the same experience in the US, you can enjoy a relaxing day by the pool and a great meal prepared just for you.
We have a great network of friends in the area, and upon booking, we'd be happy to connect you with them. Some examples include: yoga instructors (who may be able to offer private classes), coffee growers, adventure tour operators, eco-resort managers, and even the owner of one of the best cigar plantations/factories in the country.. all just a few minutes away :)
We prefer longer stays, as it is easier to coordinate, and may be able to offer discounts and/or shorter stays depending on the schedule. There is also a chance that we can arrange an airport pickup/dropoff, but it depends on the time of year and our availability.
We truly look forward to making your trip to this wonderful place as enjoyable as possible, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask!
The entire house, covered parking area and property.
We ask that if you only need one bed that you stay in the guest bedroom (nearest the garage).
The drawers in the bathroom are off limits, as is the wardrobe in the master (our bedroom).
Interaction with Guests
We expect to meet you upon your arrival and be present for your check out. We (or a friend of ours) may check on the house/property from time to time during extended stays but we will also respect your privacy.
The views! The weather is also ideal...
The bus to town goes right by the driveway every hour or two. Another one goes all the way to Quepos each day.
Other Things to Note
We expect you to treat our home like your own: please be respectful, and if leave it as clean as you found it.
If you smoke, do so outside and properly dispose of the materials.
Please dispose of toilet paper in the wastebasket, not the toilet.
If you leave the property, you are responsible for locking it up, including the gate.
Well, after a busy day of travel, it was extremely satisfying staying in this beautiful home! The views were even better in person(pictures really don't do it justice) the facilities were clean and comfortable, a beautiful kitchen to cook our meals. And 2 little kittens entertaining my 2 year old son whom was with is on our trip.
Kiki (the care taker) was helpful with calling us a cab when needed, but we also took the bus into town, which for some could be a bit of a walk to the bus stop. The town was friendly and helpful for those who spoke English.
I will hopefully come back to Costa Rica and this will be my main location and stay.
Casa de Linda was everything we expected! Great views and great location! Would definitely try to visit again in the future.
The views from this property are stunning and the house itself has enormous rooms and comfortable furniture (not common in my CR experience!). We unfortunately had to cut our visit short because there were some water/plumbing issues and the house was not ready for us. With a deep cleaning and adequate preparation for guests, it would be outstanding!
Vi fik en god introduktion af boligen som var gigantisk og med en storslået udsigt! Fra terrassen kunne man se bjerge, kyster og havets horisontlinje i det fjerne.
Sengene var dejlige og værelserne var kæmpestore.
If you want a truly tranquilo retreat for a few days (we took 10!), this is the place. Hard to go anywhere without a car - except you can catch a bus to Quepos or Puriscal right from the road - except who would want to? Spacious, well-equipped house, lovely property, unmatched views of surrounding valley, perfect climate...
Only complaint was a musty smell in 2 back rooms that improved when airing out the place. The owner was helpful in letting us change bedrooms and says he's addressing the problem now.
