About this listing
Hafod Y Wennol enjoys a tranquil setting on a beautiful country estate in the Swansea Valley. Cosy enough for a couple but big enough for a family, the property is secluded and yet close to amenities - supermarket and great pub just over a mile away. Graded by Visit Wales.
Stay on a historic estate - secluded and yet convenient to Swansea, Gower, Brecon Beacons.
What an amazing weekend! The cottage was lovely, comfortable, full of character and charm (Richard your photos does not do the place justice), surprisingly bright and very clean! There were ewes in the field next to the cottage with SPRING LAMBS! All the lovely sounds that you would expect on a farm...
The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, pots and pans, etc.... and drinking my morning coffee from white thin rimmed bone china cups with saucers was a real treat!
Communication with Richard was brilliant, has lots of local knowledge and left an impressive bounded guide/book about the history of the farm!
Will recommend this place to friends! Thank you again for letting us stay!
My family and I had a lovely stay in Richard's cottage. Had everything we needed, it was lovely and warm inside the house and we were extremely lucky with the weather!
We didn't meet Richard but his mother was there to show us around. The farm is very well located, very close to Neath and not far from Swansea. The signage in the farm itself to get you to the cottage could probably be a little better, but that might just have been us!
The cottage we stayed in (in a courtyard that contains four cottages/properties) is well looked after and has some cute features, and was clean and warm. There's a good range of crockery and cooking equipment in the kitchen too. The very comprehensive information folder with any and everything that you could ever need in it was very useful, especially after a long day travelling.
We send out an email to all guests prior to arrival entitled "Important Travel Information" It includes comprehensive directions to the farm and cottage including postcode for satnav and a link to an online map. If for any reason you do not get this, please do get in touch before your departure date. The cottage is only 5 miles from the M4 motorway and very easy to get to.
Richards holiday cottage was beautiful! We didn't want to leave, stayed an extra night and Richard and his lovely mother were extremely helpful and accommodating. Recommended very highly to all! Beautiful country sights and walks even in the middle of Novemeber.Thank you Richard!
