Spacious 2 bed / 2 bath with den & balcony on top floor of a small, friendly building. Open layout, gourmet kitchen, washer/dryer. Covered parking. Just 5 min walk to metro, shops, and restaurants. Truly a home away from home!
If you would prefer a small friendly building on a tree-lined street to a high-rise, then this place is for you. Building is only 3 years old, and it was built immaculately. Tons of light, open floor plan, gourmet kitchen, there just isn't anything like it in the area. It's why I fell in love with it in the first place!
• Two bedrooms with queen size beds + a den with desk
• Two full baths (shower in master bdrm, tub in guest)
• Modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances and granite countertops

The entire condo is available. Guests will have full use of bed/bath linens, cookware, cable TV, and wifi. For long-term stays of over a month, I will include a bi-weekly professional cleaning service.

My home is 3 blocks away from the Clarendon metro. A short ride on the orange line can get you to Foggy Bottom (George Washington University, State Dept), Metro Center (downtown, shopping) and the National Mall (Smithsonian, US Capitol). There are bike share stations close by as well.
Please make yourself at home. In return, I ask that you treat my home as you would yours by keeping it clean and tidy, being gentle with the furniture, etc.
Though I am kid-friendly, my apartment is not, so unfortunately, I am unable to host families with young children.
There is a “Welcome Packet” and some maps on the dining room table to help you find your way around my home and Washington, DC.
The condo is for your enjoyment. Please do not invite any additional guests or entertain company during your stay.
No smoking (even on the balcony) and no pets.
High heels will damage the wood floors and make a dent (pun intended) in the security deposit. Rubber-soled shoes are fine. Socks or slippers are even better!
Feel free to set the thermostat to a comfortable temperature. And thanks in advance for conserving energy by lowering the thermostat and turning out all lights when you leave the apartment each day.
When You Depart
Please throw any used towels in the kitchen and bathroom on the floor.
Please lock the apartment door and slide keys under the door of my neighbors Jeff & Heidi directly across the hall.
Please set thermostat to 50 degrees and keep it set to Heat On.
All the neighbors in the building are friendly and will help you feel at home. Thank you!
Beth is fantastic host she provided us in advance with complete details of the apartment, how to get there by taxi or public transport from the airport, handing over keys etc and some really helpful tips about the area. Beth kept in touch with us during our stay and although we didn't have any problems it was helpful to know that we could contact her if need be.
The apartment was exactly as described on the airbnb site. The apartment is immaculate, beautifully appointed with air con and wi-fi, a really nice fully equipped kitchen and spacious lounge, two very good bedrooms and 2 lovely bathrooms.
The apartment is in a really nice neighbourhood and only a very short walk to the metro and some excellent local shopping and restaurants. The variety of restaurants locally meant that we did not eat dinner in DC centre but ate in the local restuarants (Whitlow's on Wilson is a gem!).
The apartment's location means that it is convenient not only for DC but also Arlington itself and we spent a morning at the cemetry which was a very moving experience.
The proximity to the metro means that the whole DC urban area is easy to visit and we paid lots of visits to the local malls including the Fashion City at the Pentagon and Tyson's Corner (which is huge!)
We had a fabulous vacation while staying in Beth's apartment and we hope to visit again some day.
Staying here was absolutely wonderful! A definite 10!
The apartment was exactly as described and Beth contacted us before our arrival with perfect directions/instructions. We had a minor issue with the ceiling fan and she offered to have someone come out and look into it right away. We felt safe, not only in the apartment but on the way to and from the Metro. Arlington is wonderful with many good restaurants nearby. And a grocery store just a few blocks away. There really isn't anything I can suggest that would have made the stay better! The rooms were large and the bed was wonderful! All linens were new and clean. The bathrooms were spotless. The kitchen had all things necessary to cook or open a bottle of wine! Being on the top floor, it was very quite and the elevator was steps from the front door.
My only hope/concern is that it's available when I'm ready to return to D.C.!!
Thank you Beth for everything, staying with you really made our trip wonderful. We were well rested for the day's adventures!
It was one of those "wow" moments when we entered Beth' place on our recent trip to Arlington. The apartment is absolutely beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and has the amenities of a 5-star hotel. It is in easy walking distance to the metro, to Trader Joe's, Whole Foods and lots of bars and restaurants. There is even a little balcony where we enjoyed a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing.
Beth is a very responsive host, she kept in touch with us via email and text messages and answered our questions within minutes!
We will definitely check whether this apartment is available on our next visit to see our daughters in Arlington! We almost wish we could keep this gem a secret on airbnb!
This apartment was perfect for our needs. We were visiting our son who lives in Arlington, 15-20 minutes walk from this apartment. We felt safe and secure at all times, day and night walking between the two places. The apartment is situated between Clarendon town centre with a metro stop, supermarkets, bookshop and Northside Social Coffee (Italian style coffee is hard to come by in Washington, but Northside does it well), and leafy, gardened suburban streets which were great for walking in. In addition Beth's place is only 8 metro stops from Smithsonian, so there is great access to all the free cultural and political offerings of (website hidden) Vernon (George and Martha Washington's home and estate) is also easily accessible by public transport from here.
The apartment itself is spacious and well appointed with comfortable beds, nice bathrooms, a big kitchen, with laundry facilities. It was easy care for two people and could easily accommodate another couple.
Beth proved attentive and responsive.
For us there were no downsides!
Laura and I had a wonderfull time at Beth`s apartment. It is well located, within easy walking distance to Clarendon Metro station, shops and restaurants. You do not need a car. The apartament is very comfortable, with two nice bedrooms and two complete bathrooms. It has everything you need for a pleasant stay in the DC area. We highlyrecommend it.
Very good and beautiful condo, very pleasant and well situated!!
At about 5 metro station from Washnigton dowtown.
Lot of restaurants and supermarket around, in Arlignton, at about 5mn to walk
I give this note : 9/10 !!
I recommend it !
The apartment is excellent in location, furniture and furnishings and amenities. Beth stays in regular contact and goes out of her say to find solutions to surprises or answer questions. We had a power outage and Beth responded quickly to inform us of the overall situation. She also gave called a neighbor to ask about the situation. We would recommend this apartment to anyone looking for a great location for work in the DC area.
I've been in Washington DC since 2001, hailing from Chicago originally and the beautiful desert southwest of Arizona prior to my East Coast move. I love this area - a worldly, engaged population, tons to do and see, mild weather too. However, I'm pulled west by the mountains and the wide, open spaces…and Airbnb allows me to have a "home" on both coasts.
My home is my sanctuary - I am confident you will see that as soon as you walk in. Neutral colors, no clutter, lots of light. I keep a very tidy home so that there is space to read, relax and wind down after a busy day.
I find - and seek! - inspiration in physical challenges and creative experiments, including: bicycling really long distances, teaching crash courses on innovation (I'm a 2011 graduate of Stanford University’s “Design Thinking Boot Camp”), and performing true stories on stage. Most recently, I experienced my 15 minutes of fame as the creator of an online community of over 5,500 federal workers worldwide to share stories and survival tips during the 2013 government shutdown.
After a 12-year career in international affairs, I am looking for - and creating - opportunities to unleash the talents and ingenuity of individuals to change the world!
