Glyfada is a suburb of Athens, situated in the southern parts of the Athens Metropolitan Area. The area, which is home to many of Greece's millionaires, ministers and celebrities, stretches out from the foot of the Hymettus mountain and reaches out to embrace the Saronic Gulf. It is the largest of Athens' southern suburbs. This fashion-conscious suburb is known in Greece for its upmarket cafes, well-known restaurants, boutiques and cosmopolitan summer clubs; Glyfada has also been called "Knightsbridge-on-Sea", "Hellenic Hamptons", or the "Beverly Hills of Greece
The guests in general must respect the property. Smoking is not allowed. Pets are welcomed upon prior arrangement. For everything you might need, I am 24 hours a day on call. The keys will be deliverd upon arrival and I will personally explain you everything you need to know for the apartment.
The apartment was really nice, and we had a lovely stay in Glyfada. Kitchen had everything we needed, comfortable beds and relaxing bathroom. Also, the landlady was super sweet and helped us if we had any questions or needs.
Even though the apartment was light and beautifully decorated, I need to mention that it is in the basement and you will not experience a lot of sunlight when you are inside. This was not a problem for us, since we only stayed in the apartment in the nighttime.
Another thing I want to mention is that the family who lived upstairs have a big dog. It is friendly and will not hurt you, but it barks a lot and jumps on you as you enter the port. If you are afraid of dogs, it will probably be impossible for you to get to the apartment if the dog is outside.
George was kind and helpful in texts, but we never met him. He sent someone else to meet us at the apartment, and to pick us up when we were going back to the airport at the end of our trip. The man who met us at the apartment was nice, but did not know a lot about the apartment. Also, there was some misunderstanding about the price when we were driven to the airport. George said it cost 50 euro, but the man who drove us said it was only 30 euros. We gave him 40, but George is going to send someone else to drive us, he should be clearer about the price next time.
Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back. The apartment is close to the city centre, Athens is about an hour away, and big grocery stores is nearby.
Our host George was wonderful, quick response and our booking waa completed. It was our first time to use Air B &B but house we have rented was more than expected with great location.
