Super splendid neighborhood with nicely landscaped houses and lots of trees. There is a small park just up the street along Sunnybrae Ave. Lots of great eats, especially Asian and Italian, on B St. just up 9th Ave. and to the right. Central Park on El Camino and 9th Ave. is beautiful with a rose garden, arboretum and Japanese garden.
There are local buses on El Camino, Grant Ave. and Sunnybrae Ave. - the Sam Trans System. Free parking in the driveway and along the streets. 20 minutes from Half Moon Bay and San Francisco, 30 minutes from the East Bay, 60 minutes to Santa Cruz. Daniel was an amazing host and the room was perfect! He accommodated our same day request and late check in and even had tea waiting in the kettle!
Experience was great. Everything was as described in the profile. Host was super nice and even bought an air dryer after I asked if I could use one (I had no expectation that one should be provided, was just asking to see).
Daniel was super friendly and welcoming. I was out most of my stay but able to come and go very easily with all the help offered. His house and the bed are comfortable and in a nice quiet area an easy 30 minute walk to either downtown San Mateo or the San Mateo county event centre. If you're visiting the area I would recommend here :)
The bed was comfortable but the pillows were to small. It was a disappointment that no food was provided considering the price, although we knew this when we booked.. We never met our host, ( our conversations were all by phone and were quite friendly) but the location close to the airport was very convenient for us.
Daniel left very clear instructions and details and everything was precisely as described. His clarity and attention to detail removed a lot of the stress that comes with travel.
It's just as described and in a nice family neighborhood. This was my first airbnb experience and I was very pleased. I stayed for a couple of nights in the area and both Daniel and Cristina were very nice hosts. Very relaxed and the place is exactly as the pictures portray. I found the bed and bedding very comfortable giving me such a good nights sleep. All of us were busy during my stay but still they went above and beyond, offering me an airport pickup and drop-off, etc. By the way, Cristina makes some awesome camomile tea! I only wish we had had more time to get to know each other. Thank you!
