Overlooking the ocean this small condo studio has hotel services and a partial kitchenette. It is a bird lovers dream as it is tucked into the jungle where flora and fauna is plentiful.
Rate is based on double occupancy. Only registered guests are allowed access to the facilities at Villas Nicolas.
This is a tranquil property not suited for the "party crowd".
Smoking is not permitted inside the Condos or in public areas and pets are not allowed.
The pictures don't do this listing justice, but they are accurate.
Walking distance to many great restaurants (Don't miss out on Emilio's cafe and Barba Roja), a bank, and a convenient store. 10 min bus ride to the beach ($0.65 per bus ticket).
THE PROPERTY - 4 stars
The ocean views are beautiful as the property is situated high above sea level, in a tranquil forest-like environment. A peaceful place to read a book or tan by the pool, enjoy the ocean view, and watch the brids. No kids or families around, so ideal for couples. There is free parking. (Warning: do not leave belonging in your car, ever!)
THE ROOM - 3 stars
Good value for the price. Clean and comfortable room and bed, with a minimally equiped kitchennet. Do not expect luxury, but do expect everything you need to be comfortable. The rooms are situated in a way that provides a sense of privacy for every room. Great for couples. My only complaint is the slow and unreliable WiFi.
THE SERVICE - 4 stars
Timely room service. Property is well maintained. The front desk is friendly and helpful. Security gaurd is there over night.
THE FOOD - 4 stars
Free breakfast is good (coffee, 2 eggs and toast, rice and beans, plus a fruit salad). The dinner menu is quite good (~ $30 per person).
We enjoyed our time here as a couple and would stay here again, but we would opt for a room upgrade to get the open balcony and hammock.
Beautiful location and room. The room at Villa Nicolas had a wonderful view of the jungle and ocean. Room and accommodations were very comfortable! Pool access and included breakfast were huge bonuses. Location near a bus stop provided quick access to the beach. Plenty of shops /restaurants nearby! Room access is at the bottom of the complex, so be careful when hauling luggage down or back up. Saw plenty of wildlife near our room, including monkeys one morning. Would certainly go back to Villa Nicolas again!
I had a wonderful stay at Sheryl's place. It is not the typical AirBnB - home- style, it's hotel-style, which on the other hand has some benefit too. You can use the pool, you have a splendid breakfast, you have room-service, clean sheats and towels. The very helpful, very friendly staff at the reception helps you with all bookings. If you want to visit the MA national park, ask for Henry as your tourguide. He is fun, you see and learn a lot ( 11 sloths :-)).
We very much enjoyed our stay here. The grounds were beautifully kept and it was a great place to relax in after a day of exploration. The room was clean and comfortably furnished; the view was great; and we were lucky to see monkeys from the front window. Villa Nicolas is well located too, there are plenty of things to explore on either side of it. The staff was also very helpful in answering our questions and helping us make reservations. I highly recommend this place!
My boyfriend and I stayed 3 nights at the "Ocean and Jungle View Jewel" and 3 nights at the "Charming Jungle Studio with Views." The “Ocean and Jungle view jewel” feels more like a hotel and the “Charming Jungle Studio with views” feels like a private tree house. Overall, the trip was unforgettable and one of the most amazing times of my life. The two airbnb properties are right next door to each other. There were many wonderful restaurants and bars that I liked within a few minutes walking distance (I will include recommendations at the end). At both properties you can swim in the resort’s swimming pool. If you want an experience of being in a tree house I would HIGHLY recommend the “Charming Jungle Studio with Views,” which happened to be my favorite spot. This place had a magical touch to it, which felt very unique, and unlike anywhere I’ve ever been. The porch is surrounded by rainforest and nature with a faraway view of the beach. I loved to sit on the porch and watch hummingbirds fly around, listen to the sounds of nature and animal watch (bring binoculars). I even had a little kitten visit me on the porch, very sweet and cuddly! The AC was very efficient, but the kitchen had bare essentials like cooking utensils (but no butter, oil, salt) which wasn’t a deal breaker considering the view and surroundings. If you plan on cooking, they have a farmer’s market on Saturdays in Quepos and that is where you can buy the cheaper priced foods. The food at the supermarket is a little expensive, we bought fresh Tuna, alcohol and our groceries at “Super Joseth” because we missed the farmer's market. Our last day in Costa Rica we saw 5-10 monkeys within a few feet of our porch while eating breakfast, it was the most amazing experience. Have your camera ready on the porch and anywhere in Manuel Antonio, there’s lots of magic here!!! The “Ocean and Jungle view” is a nice unit connected to the hotel Villas Nicolas. It has a microwave and refrigerator but no stove. The great part about being on the resort is free breakfast with delicious coffee and they clean your room! I also woke up to a howler monkey outside our room- SUPER COOL. Julio was the a staff member that I can honestly say was approachable, kind and resourceful. Ask him for help and he will deliver. Regardless of where you are staying in, you can always book tours at Villa Nicholas. My favorite tour was the Manuel Antonio National Park guided tour with Henry. He is extremely knowledgeable about the park and can spot the tiniest creature. We were able to see frogs, bats, spiders, sloths, monkeys, butterflies, lizards, iguanas, exotic birds, walking sticks and more on the tour. Bring your bathing suit because you will be able to swim in the National Park’s beautiful beach. Another tour we booked with the hotel was the ATV...
