We live in a typical Vietnamese house, in a typical family neighborhood, on a typical pedestrian street.
Our newly built house has five floors. We rent two private rooms. Each room offers a comfortable queen size bed, a private bathroom, air-conditionning, fan, tv, wifi, large window and glass door to let in natural light (with good curtains if you wish to be in the dark!), and a small balcony overlooking streetlife. Each room can accomodate 2 persons.
You are welcome to use our kitchen or whatever facility our house offers. Many of our previous guests really enjoyed the 360 view offered from our roof top terrace at sunrise, sundown, or to see the city lights in the evening.
We live in district 8, just on the other side of the bridge that brings you in district 1 where most tourists attractions are and in district 5, Cholon, the famous Chinese neighborhood, and district 4 along the river going to Saigon river opposite district 1. From another the bridge reach Phu My Hung district 7 such as new city with restaurant and shopping small exhibition event. we are living on the island.
During the day, you can take bus 152 and in less than 10 minutes, it will drop you at the Ben Thanh market or directly at the Ben Thanh bus station, near the Reunification Palace or the War museum,... from there you can walk any where in district 1. If you keep going on that same bus, you can even reach the airport in about 50 minutes just cost 5000 vnd ( 25 cents )
It is also possible to walk over the bridge for about 1,5 km and catch bus number 1 at any time. It can bring you downtown quickly to Le Loi street near the Opera, the famous hotels, major shopping streets or going the other way, to the famous market in Cholon and the Cholon bus station. Bus number 1 from 6am to 8 :30 pm Saigon Cho Lon ( downtown to China town )
District 8 is a living district. Tourists are a rare sight. On the way to my house you will be on typical commercial street with lots of traffic, restaurants, streetfood ... You will then turn on a typical small alley that will lead you to my house. That type of pedestrian alleys form mazes between major streets in HCMC. Most people live in those mazes of alleys and you will be living on one!
Much quieter then the major streets, no cars can enter! The sound of traffic from major streets becomes distant and you can now hear the sound of people living, talking, playing.
You will see people walking, kids playing in front of their house, families watching tv in their living room, families with little stalls in front of their house, or a little store in their living room...
A few meters from my house, you can have nice Vietnamese coffee. Within a few minutes, you will find a nice local typical market with food stalls, clothings, food market, grocery shopping...
We want your homestay at our house to be Home Away from Home for all travelers: solo, couples and families.
If this is the type of traveling you might enjoy, do not hesitate to write to me. Each room is 19$/night for 1 person and 24$ for 2.
Shared kitchen, dinning room, terrace, washing machine... You can use anything you want.

I had a fantastic first visit to Vietnam, all thanks to Pham and her amazing family, along with their incredible space. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and the neighborhood is exactly where you want to be if you wish to get away from touristy parts of Ho Chi Minh.
Pham is a very generous host and will accommodate your needs on the spot, be it with meals or activity suggestions in town. Whenever I return to Vietnam, this will be a must location to visit and it should be one for you too!
Great experience- easy to access by bus from the airport and downtown, clean room, comfortable family atmosphere and very friendly host, who was happy to give us suggestions and even helped us order street food :) Thanks Pham!
So great and funny to stay with Pham !
Must try it !
We only stayed one night at Phams. The room was really nice and clean with private bathroom and balcony. It's good if you wanna live outside the central of Saigon and see how the vietnamese locals are living. Not very close to restaurants or other things to do, but it's just a cab ride away!
Pham's humble abode was everything we could have asked for. Reasonably-priced, avenue to live with the locals, and sharing joyous moments with the hosts themselves. The room was just right for 3 people with a comfortable and other furnishings. The bathroom was clean with a couple of toiletries provided. There was also no issue with the air conditioner.
We had hoped to Pham herself on the first day itself but she was on a holiday. The experience could have been richer if she had been present. However, her family was no less welcoming. They were really jovial people and ensured that our needs were taken care of.
Another drawback of staying here is taking a bus to district 1 which is where all the restaurants, cafés, bars and travel agencies are centred. If one doesn't mind to spend 15000 dongs or a USD for the bus ride down to district 1, this is an enriching way to experience life of the locals.
All in all, a wonderful home stay :)
We chose Chez Pham for our first nights in Vietnam. It's a good place to start your trip and getting a feeling of local life. Great coffee nearby. Room is nice and clean, with nice view. The rooftop is awesome. The accommodation is in a small alley. Not many tourist around there. We loved this place and the family.
Linh is a very helpful person. Unfortunately, we saw her only for a few hours.
I highly recommend this place.
Thanks for the hospitality.
The family are really nice and helpful, I really had a good time here. Room is clean, and there's bus to the downtown. Do explore the neighborhood nearby, u will c more about the real life of local people. Thanks for offering me the steamed banana breakfast, it was special and good taste!
