We stayed at Mary's for 3 nights. Mary welcomed us very warmly with good easy conversations, lots of local information, and willingness to research places on our behalf. We had very generous access to the kitchen and Mary even provided and cooked food for breakfast, which added to our convenience. Mary provided us with assistance above and beyond what was expected. the room we stayed in was comfortable and clean. Access to the bathroom we shared with the other guest and her family was no problem. Mary provided beach towels. It was easy to come and go with our own set of keys and parking was no problem with the ample space in front of the house. There are good establishments nearby, such as supermarket, pharmacy, restaurants, coffee shops. the beach was just a short drive from hernhouse. Mary made our stay very memorable and comfortable. She is a wonderful host and we would love to stay with her again.
This was a wonderful place to stay. Mary and her sons went out of their way to welcome us and show us around the surrounding area. Mark was very accommodating and made us feel very comfortable. The area is conveniently located and it is easy to get around. We ended up taking an uber to the beach each day. When splitting the fare three ways it cost the same as the public bus would have but took a quarter of the time. Mary's dog, MJ, was friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed playing with him. It seemed that if you were not a dog person, however, that Mary could keep him separated from you. Overall a great experience and we feel lucky to have stayed here. Thanks for everything!
Host was great!!! Very good to talk to but won't bother you if you want privacy.
Hosts were friendly and all our needs were met. The description could be more accurate. The area, Wilton, is more like "Fort Lauderdale area" and was five miles away from where we wanted to be visiting with our friends (a hotel on Seabreeze bvd, hwy A1A).
We found the neighborhood to be very interesting and "fun." There are some great antique shops and second-hand clothing stores with high-end items in good condition as well as some good restaurants, all within walking distance.
The experience was good overall.
Mary was really welcoming- she opens the house for you (let us use her Kitchen) and the house is in a great area. We were not in the room pictured in the photographs, but it was similar (although smaller than the photo seems): Two single beds, a small table, some lounger chairs, and even some complimentary snacks. There are likely to be a couple other students staying in her house, as Mary is a English Second Language teacher. Although we walked and took the bus (the bus stop in nearby) you may have to take taxis is you want to go out (unless you have a car).
The host made us feel very welcoming. She was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and the neighborhood was very nice.
My husband and I had a wonderful time. Mary was a wonderful host. She greeted us when we came and told us about the area, buses, and shopping malls. We had a nice breakfast New Years Day and coffee and toast the other 3 mornings we were there. We were happy with coffee outside coming from the cold north. We took buses every day to the beach, and popular tourist spots. It was easy. The area has a great Italian restaurant that we ate at twice. We would stay here again because we felt comfortable in the space and it is close to everything. Thank you Mary for a relaxed environment.

Our home is comfortable and spacious. I am an English teacher for speakers of other languages, a writer and event planner. I was born in Fort Lauderdale, but have traveled to the Baltic Sea area, Mexico, Canada and the islands. I have two adult sons -- one who is studying physical therapy and the other who is studying dental hygiene. If you have an emergency, rest assured..they are both licensed paramedics. In addition, we have only one pet, a very friendly pedigree English bulldog. You can't find a better destination than beautiful Fort Lauderdale and all it has to offer both day and night! Conveniently close to the cruise ships, beach, famous shopping malls and downtown night life.
