The Flying Eagle B & B is a hidden gem. Patricia (the owner) and Joanne (the hostess) are delightful, gracious people who provide a nurturing, caring environment for your stay. It is one of the quietest places I have ever stayed. The facility is situated well above Cottonwood in the foothills of Mingus Mountain, with a spectacular view of the mountain and the red rocks of Sedona in the distance. There are no noises at all, other than the wind blowing through the trees, and the occasional howling of coyotes at night (a sound I love). It is such a refreshing change from Sedona with its constant airplane and helicopter noise, yet it is only a 20-minute drive to Sedona. I am completely nourished by total quiet---if you share that quality, then I would highly recommend the Flying Eagle. It is a healing place to stay, and a great place for your own "retreat" from the rigors of life.
Patricia's b&b is located in a beautiful, quiet area just below Jerome, close to Sedona and lots of good hiking. We enjoyed total silent at night except for the coyotes howling. The room is very spacious and bright, and we appreciated the comfortable bed and nice linens. Joanne was a friendly host and gave us delicious coffee and banana bread for breakfast. The only problem we had was with the lack of sound insulation from the rest of the house. This might be less of a problem for early risers or for individual guests, but in the morning we were woken up by goings on in the kitchen.

About the Host, Patricia
Hi, I am the owner/ innkeeper at Flying Eagle B&B in Clarkdale, AZ. I have lived in this area for 18 years, originally from Orange County, New York. Lucky for me, my children and grandchildren relocated to Arizona also, after visiting and falling in love with the weather and the geography. I love my area because of the 'Verde Valley' and the mountains I can see from the front and rear of my property. I also enjoy that I can drive a short distance north for cooler, or south for warmer weather. I am walking distance to Yavapai Community College, where there are many activities (art, music, the new vineyards) and classes for every age. Popular Red Rocks of Sedona is a sight from my 'picture postcard' windows. I enjoy hosting friends and family visiting the area and love learning about other places I want to visit from my many wonderful guests. I love the beauty of nature, music that soothes the soul, learning about life, movies about all kinds of relationships, and I love to eat so I am often 'at lunch' with friends. We have so many local restaurants that you won't find in other places. I hope you visit soon.
