CHILDREN - My home is not child proof although I do enjoy children it is probably not the best for really young children under 10 years old because the yoga space in my yard does not have a guard rail. There are many stairs. Adults looking for peace and quiet are best suited for this property.

I just got back from an amazing trip to Nicaragua during which I spent a fabulous week at Heidi's. She has been an incredible host. She'd always want to make sure I had everything I needed and she had cool suggestions of what to do around San Juan Del Sur. Her place is clean, safe, peaceful. Just what I needed to recharge my batteries before going back to my crazy busy north american routine! Thanks for everything Heidi...and Monty, of course ;)
My husband and I stayed with Heidi at Casa Santosha for 5 nights during our time in SJDS. We did a lot of research and were always drawn back to Casa Santosha and are so glad we decided to stay here the whole time! Heidi helped arrange our transportation from Managua and made it very easy for us which was a nice start to our visit to Nica. The location is just outside of town and offered a peaceful place to call home during out stay.
The guest house was clean with simple, cute personal touches throughout. The consistent breeze was nice and the variety of birds amongst the trees kept us company with their songs. Perfect for a couple looking to relax and spend quality time together surrounded by nature.
Heidi (and Lester) made us feel so at home and offered recommendations for places to eat and visit in SJDS. This was especially helpful to us because we really didn't do much planning prior to arriving and intended on being open to whatever the day offered. Everything Heidi mentioned was right up our ally and we are thankful for her willingness to share her favorites with us, along with her inspirational life story.
To get into town each morning, we either hitched a ride with Heidi, a neighbor or a got a cab (there were plenty to get on the main road on our way in, walking from Casa Santosha). Getting back via cab was super easy, everyone knows where "Camino del Sol" is and enjoyed the fact that we ended each day back at Heidi's sanctuary.
Overall, the space is great, Heidi is a genuine, kind soul and we came home with a special fondness for SJDS. A lot of that is because of our time at Casa Santosha and the talks with had with Heidi. We look forward to returning time and time again and highly recommend Casa Santosha and Heidi as a host!!
Staying at Casa Santosha made for the perfect honeymoon. Heidi is a wonderful hostess and went out of her way to make our trip perfect by organizing transportation, activities, meals and more for us. The accommodations themselves were nicely decorated, comfortable, peaceful and very clean. We loved the outdoor lounging area with hammocks and spent a lot of time there! In all honestly we didn't want to leave at the end of our vacation! We felt very secure in the private gated community and loved being so close to the pool as well. It is only a short drive into town and we really liked how quiet it was in comparison to staying right in town. We highly recommend staying at Casa Santosha. After seeing some of the other accommodations available in the area we were so thankful we were staying with Heidi! In the mornings we could hear the monkeys and a wide range of birds etc. It was such a nice way to start each day. We will definately be back! Thank you for everything Heidi. As you said in your review of us, we left as friends.
I spent a month at Casa de Santosha and it was just what the Dr. ordered. Yoga, surfing, and adventuring with Heidi is the perfect escape from the treadmill of American life. Heidi is an amazing woman and I value the time I got to spend with her. Her house is great, very safe, and super clean. As soon as I got home, I started looking at when I could go back. Nicaragua is a magical place and I couldn't recommend this experience more. Oh yea, and Monty is the man. :)
I just got back from a recent stay at Heidi’s place. It was great! Rooms were well kept, pool was amazing and the hammocks were very relaxing as well. She was a great host and a great cook! Make sure to try her veggie burgers and hummus! YUM! She was also helpful in arranging surfing lessons for me as well as showing me the downtown area. Thanks for the experience Heidi!
My boyfriend and I stayed for a month in Heidi's beautiful home in San Juan del Sur. We have been traveling for about 4 months already so we intended to lay low in Nica. Casa Santosha was the perfect spot for our down time. Our room was very nice & spacious -- a queen sized bed with a mini bar, a fridge & great ventilation. The bathroom always had a hot shower which is hard to come by in Nica. We also used the kitchen frequently to cook our meals. It was so comfortable we had such precious sleep every night (10-12 hrs!)! Every part of Heidi's home is well thought of. The way she lives is admirable -- simple, sustainable & very environmental friendly. We are really inspired with what we saw in Casa Santosha! Thank you Heidi!
If you're looking for an oasis with modern luxury, yet an authentic Nicaraguan experience, then Casa Santosha and host Heidi are a perfect match for you.
From the time we arrived at the airport to the time we continued on in our travels, my friends and I (group of 6 people) felt safe and welcomed. Heidi arranged our airport shuttle and waited up late for us the night of our arrival. She cooked for us several times (Nica style), which was absolutely delicious and we also shared the kitchen to do our own cooking. This place truly became our home for 8 days.
Heidi and co-host Mel were the perfect complement for our stay. They worked with us to create a personalized experience that has us all wanting to come back again. We took a surf lesson the first day, became addicted and hit the beach everyday after with morning and midday yoga sessions in between. She showed us as many beaches as possible, took us around town and offered shuttles as we needed.
Casa Santosha is the perfect place for anyone looking to relax, surf, practice yoga or just get a feel for what San Juan del Sur has to offer.
I love it and cannot wait to return :)
Great location close to town but with the feeling of being in a safe and relaxing oasis. Excellent comfort and amenities both in the living space and public areas (pool and lounge area). Was able to use the beautifully designed and fully equipped kichen to cook lobster tails and fish then relax in the hammocks. Highly recommend this location.
Heidi was fantastic! She arranged our transportation from Managua to her home as soon as we arrived and made our transition to Central America from Canada smooth and enjoyable. Her home is lovely. She was a gracious host who showed us around the local area and introduced us to many people and places. Highly recommend!
My time at Casa Santosha was wonderful. Heidi is a great host, and her cooking is worth mentioning. The house is beautiful and well kept, a perfect place to take a break from everyday life. Yoga, hammocks, pool and weather made it pretty easy to relax. The nearby beaches are stunning, and I got my first surf lessons, eventually… Thank you Heidi!
