CHILDREN - My home is not child proof although I do enjoy children it is probably not the best for really young children under 10 years old because the yoga space in my yard does not have a guard rail. There are many stairs. Adults looking for peace and quiet are best suited for this property.
Guests have free access to the development's common area pool, wifi by the pool and yoga space. WIFI free at Casa Santosha
Interaction with Guests
I'm always available for questions! With advance notice I can happily prepare meals, yoga, surfing, and assistance in transportation.
Our comunnity is a located in a private development. Several homes are occupied full time by Expats or long term renters. Often their are yoga trainings or retreats happening in the development. It is a community geared toward families, wellness and relaxation. You will leave with many new friends.
Off the main road the local bus passes by every 30 minutes to an hour. "Collectivo Taxi's" can be flagged from here and often it is easy to catch a ride with a neighbor heading to town or host can call a taxi/
Other Things to Note
Nicaragua is a developing country. Things move at a much slower pace here. This home is located in the jungle where monkeys, serveral bird species, snakes and insects reside. Care must be taken but nature can be enjoyed from afar even for the most timid traveler. This is a very safe development to stay in near by town.
Sorry no smoking. No smoking inside the house or in the yard of my home, as some people have abused this. No smoking is allowed in the common area where the pool is. This is a yoga themed community. Smoking is permitted in the parking area ONLY. Please, do not leave your cigarette butts in the driveway if you do smoke. If you are a smoker, you are welcome at Casa Santosha, just let me know ahead of time and we will make sure you feel comfortable.

I have one cat. Monty lives at Casa Santosha. He hunts for insects that you do not want crawling around in the house. Be kind to him. He is a lover!
CHILDREN - My home is not child proof although I do enjoy children it is probably not the best for really young children under 10 years old because the yoga space in my yard does not have a guard rail. There are many stairs. Adults looking for peace and quiet are best suited for this property. If you have young children, you are certainly welcome, let´s have an advanced discussion about safety and booking at your own risk.
This is my home. Not just a vacation rental. If I'm not here it's because I've left to market my yoga retreat business or get more yoga training under my belt. Please respect my home and treat it better than your own. Thank you! Enjoy it. It is peaceful and will bring you many wonderful tranquil days and nights.
We loved staying at Casa Santosha! It was located a few miles away from the town of San Juan Del Sur which we liked because it gave us so much privacy and separation from all the towns activity, but it was close enough to go to a often as we needed. The pool and outdoor yoga studio were definitely the icing on the cake! We loved our afternoons at the pool (chlorine free) and having the yoga studio to ourselves to practise, meditate, and exercise. Heidi was an amazing host and her care and support made us feel at home in Nicaragua. Our private studio room was very tastefully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We had some of the best nights sleeps ever in there! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a romantic getaway or just a place to get away from all the hustle and bustle but still enjoy all the beauty and conveniences of San Juan Del Sur.
I have send 2 wonderful weeks at Heidi's place. She was taking very much care of me guided me through the area and provided me with a lot of useful tips. Heidi itself is a lovely person and eager to help and guide you during your stay. She is a very good surf and yoga instructor and she cooks amazing food :-) The place is wonderful with amazing people and neighbours. I really enjoyed my stay at her place.
Dear Heidi, thank you for your beautiful insight on life, your assistance on making this experience memorable and the wonderful meals. You are an exceptionally beautiful soul who has inspired me to continue unlocking positive mysteries of my mind, soul. I only wish you pure happiness and prosperity on your journey through life. Blessings, Adriana
I spent a lovely 5 days at Heidi's place a week ago and I miss the tranquility, atmosphere, more then LOVELY meals and our great conversations!!
Casa Santosha is such a great place, I woke up every morning from the call of the birds. It's so much better then staying in San Juan, thanks Heidi for your hospitality, beso!!
I just got back from an amazing trip to Nicaragua during which I spent a fabulous week at Heidi's. She has been an incredible host. She'd always want to make sure I had everything I needed and she had cool suggestions of what to do around San Juan Del Sur. Her place is clean, safe, peaceful. Just what I needed to recharge my batteries before going back to my crazy busy north american routine! Thanks for everything Heidi...and Monty, of course ;)
My husband and I stayed with Heidi at Casa Santosha for 5 nights during our time in SJDS. We did a lot of research and were always drawn back to Casa Santosha and are so glad we decided to stay here the whole time! Heidi helped arrange our transportation from Managua and made it very easy for us which was a nice start to our visit to Nica. The location is just outside of town and offered a peaceful place to call home during out stay.
The guest house was clean with simple, cute personal touches throughout. The consistent breeze was nice and the variety of birds amongst the trees kept us company with their songs. Perfect for a couple looking to relax and spend quality time together surrounded by nature.
Heidi (and Lester) made us feel so at home and offered recommendations for places to eat and visit in SJDS. This was especially helpful to us because we really didn't do much planning prior to arriving and intended on being open to whatever the day offered. Everything Heidi mentioned was right up our ally and we are thankful for her willingness to share her favorites with us, along with her inspirational life story.
To get into town each morning, we either hitched a ride with Heidi, a neighbor or a got a cab (there were plenty to get on the main road on our way in, walking from Casa Santosha). Getting back via cab was super easy, everyone knows where "Camino del Sol" is and enjoyed the fact that we ended each day back at Heidi's sanctuary.
Overall, the space is great, Heidi is a genuine, kind soul and we came home with a special fondness for SJDS. A lot of that is because of our time at Casa Santosha and the talks with had with Heidi. We look forward to returning time and time again and highly recommend Casa Santosha and Heidi as a host!!
